We're a family of three. Two adults and our ds who's coming up to a year old.
I'm trying to work out what cuts we can make with weekly shopping so it's cheaper!

So how much per week do you spend and how many people in your household?

I spend about £50 per week. Just myself and ds who is almost 3. I know people in my situation who spend far less though!

Varies depends where I shop and what I need that week approx 65-80 a week but I there's two adults a 7 year old 2year and newborn so nappies and tub of formula. Obviously changes if I need expensive items coffee, toilet roll, full cleaning products, washing liquid for the washing machine.

If you're currently spending £200 pw on organic fish and blueberries with Ocado you can cut that down a lot.

If you're spending £50 pw at Aldi, not so much. How much others spend doesn't help you much as they don't have the same budget, likes and dislikes, health and allergy requirements, family size etc.

Family of 3 most of the time but 5 on a Wednesday and eow - spend on average 40-50 a week. Cook most things from scratch and do my shopping online so I can keep an easy of check on the budget

I love Aldi and Lidl (and braving the reduced section at Tesco. I managed 4 Pizza Express pizzas for 45p each instead of £4.50 each. Best bag to date)

If you're shopping Aldi and Lidl, you're pretty much keeping it low for my book. And you can do an entire weekly shop in Aldi.

OK, I manage a shop for 2 (my DS is 14 so is basically an adult) for a week and it comes in around £30 if I'm treating us. You can really good stuff at Aldi.

Shop in farm shops for meat, veg and dairy...whatever supermarket is nearest when I'm out and about for tins etc.

£55 a week for family of three, one in nappies. Includes cleaning products and nappies and wipes.
We menu plan, batch cook and drink about one bottle of wine a week. We don't really buy snacks or desserts. It sounds miserly but it really isn't! We eat well on it too; lots of fresh veg, fish and chicken, risottos etc and a 'big' Sunday meal.
Aldi for the main shop and Sainsbury's for a top up. Don't feel we miss out by not spending masses.
We can get Nespresso size pods and rapeseed oil in Aldi for example.

What kind of things do you buy? I promise you I'm not going to judge and will try to help where I can. I spend a low amount on food - though it's good food. What takes my bill up is alcohol.

We spend way too much but then we have 4 kids including 3 teenage boys so really it's like feeding 5 adults and a child. I try to shop at Lidl and get a lot of reductions , Today I got to Tesco at the right time and got punnets of kiwi fruit and plums for 10p a punnet, and bread at 30p a loafand new York bagels for 45p a pack so I tend to stock up when I can and put as much in the frezer as possible. There are somethings I won't scrimp on like fresh orange juice and decent meat.

£50 - £100 - 1 adult, 3 kids, 5 cats, 3 guineapigs and a hamster!

That's food, animal stuff and bog rolls etc

2 adults, 1 baby and cats. I spend £65 a week unless we need cat food/litter (I buy in bulk) but would then spend about £30-£50 on the cat bits (which lasts about 2 months for food and 6 months for cat litter)

I think I spend about £20 a week at the veg shop, £20 a week on extras at the co op and £120 every 3 weeks from tesco or Costco ( maybe bit more). That's for 2 adults inc DHs packed lunches and 2 yr old DS. What sort of food are you buying?

We spend about £150 per week for a family of 7 - me, DH, 19 yr old, 15 yr old, 10 yr old and 3 yr old twins. That's Aldi and Sainsburys basics. I could spend MUCH more but try not to

Unless you can get reduced stuff or special offers, Tesco and Co-op are probably some of the most expensive places to shop and the quality isn't great at either.
