AIBU?

To think that I can't be open minded about something this creepy?

I was trawling through Amazon for the purpose of updating my Kindle with all the free/cheap books I could find, when I came across this

'Tom rescues Ruthie from an abusive relationship, and during a three-week stay at his cottage on the coast, gives her the opportunity to truly be herself. During this time she acts out some of her fantasies as she relinquishes her insecurities and responsibilities, experiencing some of the carefree activities of childhood - including fun on the beach, donkey rides, cuddles, playing with toys and dressing in cute little girl clothes. So convincing is her little girl persona that the local shopkeeper thinks she is Tom's young daughter.'

I thought I was pretty open minded, anything goes between two consenting adults, etc etc, but really?

I get that some people are into very different things, but I just find this bloody weird. The man in this book gets a girl to pretend to be his daughter so he can fuck her? What?

Are people actually into this sort of thing?

is hopelessly naive

Well it isn't as mind boggling as the dinosaur porn.

Where does it say he fucks her? I didn't read it that way at all. More that he gives her the chance to act like a child for a bit.

Oh, OK - just seen the cover! I take it all back.

I google it Phantom after the last thread. I really wish I hadn't. You can't unsee those images once you've read them.

Yeah no. My open-mindedness doesn't stretch that far, either.

I couldn't resist. I read the few pages available on the 'look inside' feature. Based on the quality of the writing alone, I'd steer well clear!!!

Based on the one review, this is apparently called 'age play'.

The 'Publisher's Warning' says it all. Apparently, this delightful work of classic literature features 'ageplay', including 'spanking and corner time'.

I try my best not to judge others as 'so long as they're not hurting anybody'. That's why I have to mentally turn myself off when reading the OP, because I find it all rather disgusting.

I've heard of adult men paying for 'services' including being dressed and treated as babies, so in that sense this isn't so very different.

Although in an odd way, I find the little-girl thing more disturbing than the baby thing. Maybe because I think that in 'normal' life (as in, not in the context of specific sexual fantasies or desires like in this book), there are many ways in which adult women are infantilised to a troubling degree.

Wish I hadn't clicked on your link. I bet that every time I log into Amazon now I'm going to get recommendations based on recently viewed...

Anyway, load of shite and you can see why it's free. They still can't give it away!

There was a big hoohaa and WH Smiths withdrew ebooks after they found a self published novel along similar lines (but ickier). Kobo also withdrew all self published ebooks as well, though I think some are back on the shelves.

No-one polices self-published books. Sometimes they suffer from crimes against the comma. Sometimes they are really, really ick. It's the downside of freedom of speech and the internet and digital age.

I dread to think what lurks out there.

I just can't get past the little girl thing either.

I know it's consensual adults and not an actual child, but I would judge like mad if I actually knew someone who was into this. I don't think it's normal or healthy.

"spanking and corner time"

Oh please please tell me we are not raising a generation who are going to get turned on by getting told to "sit on the naughty step"

It's age play, or what's know in link as age play. Which is basically the woman/man likes to be treated as a child would. All very odd.

Each to their own, there's no children involved however I think that fetishes like this are probably a sign of some kind of underlying problem. I don't think it's about children more about wanting to be controlled/be in control.

There's a lot of it about though isn't there? I mean what's the whole sexy schoolgirl thing about, hen parties Anne Summers shop and noone bats an eyelid. What's that all about?

What were you looking for op to find this Wink

It's always been there online, if you knew where to look - but 50 Shades has made it permissible to actually publish them into books and sell them.

I've posted about them before but I have acquaintances who are in their early 30's and pretend to be fairies (to the point where they have changed their names and will not be known as anything else) and do childrens entertaining (Not weird) but also 'kinky night time fairy' stuff, which I find very very weird.

My best friends brother has this game/website type thing on his computer with his own avatar/ friends list etc, I cannot remember the name but it reminded me of the Sims games (he showed us, with much amusement the content of this game/whatever it is.)

Basically it is a virtual world where you can go to virtual strip clubs and pay to have virtual sex with people. You can buy in-game corsets and stockings. Sexual positions and all kinds of bdsm equipment. You can create sex dungeons.

The brother sent his creepy little avatar into a chat room and there was about 7 female avatars in there, all dressed in little cutesy outfits, sitting around a male avatar. They was all calling him 'daddy' including the one who zoomed across the room and appeared strapped into some sort of fucking chair while the male did his thing.

Apparently the creepiness didn't stop there, but I stopped looking and went back to my bottle of wine. My stomach just couldn't handle anymore weirdness.

The brother swears blind he only went on there out of curiosity.... yeah right.
