Not a thread about a thread but inspired by another thread...how often do you clean, is your house showhome style, or organically dirty Grin.

Just being nosy really and wondering where I am on the clean house scale.

It's not a show home but not 'organically dirty'. Probably a 2/10 (0 being a showhome, 10 being condemned). I have a lot of books though (not hoarding status) so a little cluttered.

Mines lovely clean and tidy between the hours of 9 and 3 on school days :)

All the other times its OK presentable but not show home.

I dont think it can be showhome when you have dc.

It's currently a bit grubby. A faw days wihot vacuuming but the kitchen is scrubbed as is the bathroom and it's generally tidy.

It's taken me years to get to this point.

I clean every day and my home is sparkling clean. Shiny surfaces, ornaments polished, husband on vaccuming duty Grin no rubbish or clutter anywhere, clear worktops in the (white) kitchen, etc.

I don't have very nice furniture, it's old and it's shabby and so I think well, I don't have posh stuff, but at least it is very very clean. Grin

Clean and tidy.

Something gets done everyday. The toilets and washbasins get done daily, as does the kitchen floor and work tops. I dust and tidy at least one other room each day.

Clean enough. Tidy enough. Pull out the sofas though and it'd be a different story. Husband does a deep clean every few weeks. It's never too horrific as I will have a quick tidy while the tea is cooking - literally 10 minutes - then have another quick tidy as the kids are getting ready for bed. Couldn't live without dishwasher though!

In this house I've trained up everyone well Grinit's nice and clean. A 10 min tidy up before bed and I feel so much better.

At the moment it's showhome standard but only because it's on the market Grin

Normally it's a bit more erm lived in. But reasonably clean.

Mine's not great, I try but it's hard - we live in a small flat with absolutely no storage, so even with an average amount of stuff it's fairly cluttered (damn property crash and SE prices!). Kitchen is always wiped round and floors are always hoovered, but there's a lot of stuff knocking about so it's hard to dust or give things a proper clean. I just keep telling myself it won't be forever! One day we'll have some cupboards or a shed or something and can put our things away, and enough space in our kitchen to put away plates AND food in the cupboards. And a dryer or washing line, so there won't be damp laundry everywhere! Annoyingly, all of my friends are incredibly clean and tidy (but all have more space than me to tidy things away, so I don't let it get to me).

Pretty clean.

Our lovely cleaner who has been with us for 8 years finished a few weeks ago due to ill-health.

I think the house is currently cleaner than it ever was with her, as it is still a bit of a novelty having to do the cleaning ourselves, and there are things I do which our cleaner wouldn't have bothered with such as pulling out the side tables in our bedroom to hoover behind. My asthma is much improved too.

I do a proper clean once a week and general hoovering as it needs it inbetween. The kitchen work tops are cleaned everyday.

I have a two year old so it's never going to be perfect and we both work. It's tidy by the end of the day.

Clean but not tidy. I work long hours and I'm the only person in the house who cares about tidy - I come home and weep sometimes. DH is great at all other housework but really doesn't mind about stuff lying about so doesn't deal with it. Every so often I go bonkers and shove everything in a bin bag.

My house would be a lot cleaner if half the size. More space means you end up with more clutter no clutter and large rooms looks like you haven't moved in. Can't wait to downsize one day...

I only clean properly once a fortnight. It's not dirty but it's not clean either. I dint care. I've got much better things to do in my limited free time tbh
