AIBU?

To be absolutely steaming about having a free copy of the Sun delivered by Royal Mail?

I know I am not BU. I am going to post it back to Sun HQ in an unstamped envelope ( will probably tear it into pieces before I do). Who will join me?

I would worry why I was on The Sun's mailing list. Shock

Ooh if I get one I will gladly join you. In fact I am tempted just to post a load of empty unstamped envelopes to them!

It's being delivered by Royal ( bargain basement sale of the century but that's another thread) Mail to every household in England( except Liverpool) on 12 June. Apparently no page 3 though!

Why not liverpool?

Oh FGS. Why? That is bizarre.

This is your friend.

Takes 6 weeks to kick in, and you have to renew every 2 years. but well worth doing. Stops them delivering anything unaddressed.

Hillsborough?

Report
TakingTheStairs · 09/06/2014 09:17

I would imagine not Liverpool because of all the lying and finger pointing The Sun did about the Hillsborough disaster

Just throw it out? We get 2 local newspapers delivered most weeks. They go straight in the recycling. What a bizarre over reaction!

Sixweekstowait · 09/06/2014 09:22

Pivot and Coffee - clearly too young to remember Hillsborough! And clearly not feminists either!

I was almost with you until you started accusing others of not being feminists because they don't agree with you.

YANBU

And I agree with the posting back in an unstamped envelope, that will encourage the powers that be at Royal Mail to think again next time they are approached by lying scumbag excuses for 'journalists'. Really shitty way to get under the skin of people who don't want that piece of shit in their homes.

Sorry. You can tell I loathe The Sun with a passion.

yoshipoppet · 09/06/2014 09:28

If I get one I shall be delighted. The Sun is very absorbent as I have discovered and is ideal for lining the guinea pigs' house. And what better use for The Sun than to be peed on?

Sparkling - the link says that the paper will feature news - well that will be a first then. DoJo - please explain how a feminist can support page 3

I was wondering if any animal rescue places use newspaper we could donate them.

It does say they are mini copies though.

Tbh, so long as they deliver a paper without page three in it, I'm happy to just recycle it immediately (in the same way that I do all junk mail). If it had page three in it, I would be livid. Luckily it appears that even the sun realise that it would be unacceptable to put photos half naked women through people's doors even if they can't quite get their heads around it generally being unacceptable in a newspaper.
