This is taking a bit far, aren't teacher allowed to have any innocent fun outside school

I am [shocked] that this is a story tbh, just a group of ladies having fun on a hen night in their own time, there are no children or animals involved, and nobody is having sex in the photos so what! The parents reaction is too strong, as long as the teachers teach their children well so what! So they sit at home and have no fun then! Don't tell me that they have never had any fun themselves! So teachers should sit at home watching Embarassing Bodies on a Friday and Sat night then, to have fun and laughs with their mates would be Shock, really the mentality of some peopl.

Pathetic that there is outrage ...Lesson is do not be friends with any parents from the school you teach in if your going to publish pictures.

Well I would think the problem arose when they posted the photos on Facebook, rather than actually having the night out. I would guess that professional people do need to be careful when using social media. It's just common sense really. It wouldn't bother me personally as I am aware that my children's teachers do have private lives, but they are the ones that made it public.

FGS. Clearly all teachers should retire to convents outside school hours to prevent them wanting to do anything that might scandalise the local community. Like have fun. Or a life.

I went to a hen do a few weeks ago, and there was some rauncy things involving chocolate willies, and willie shaped fortune teller. and lots of merriment. Was watching a documentary about a couple of months ago about Junior Doctors, you should see what they get up to, they were not plastered over the Daily Mail and other media.

It was a silly mistake by the teacher who didnt have better privacy setting on her facebook otherwise ffs. It is the daily mail however and the parent who printed them off is clearly a little unhinged.....

I would not be FB with any parent if I was a teacher, but the photos were innocent just of a group of ladies having fun nothing else its their right to put them on Facebook

Can I just ask the posters who have said the teachers should have made the profiles private:

If I searched for the children I teach and found their profiles 'open' and shared with the national news some of the language they use, sexually charged conversations they have and pouting, six pack, cleavage exposing shots they put up ... would that be acceptable because the children's profiles were open?

Or would that be a very nasty thing to do taking advantage of their lack of know-how about privacy settings?

oh for goodness sake, they can have a life out side of school. Stupid for not making photos private, this is why we arent allowed any parent on FB and why we have guidelines policies on it.
Think this parent just wanted the old head back imo

DS2's teacher got married over Easter. TBH I expect that she did have a pretty wild hen night!

If pictures are on FB though you do need to make sure that the privacy settings are set so that people who aren't friends can't see them. Especially when so many children have Facebook, even those under 13.

personally I think everyone should be aware of privacy settings. These photos were obviously distributed by a parent with an issue about the way the school is run,

I totally agree about the privacy settings, but I can see how it happens ... Facebook set everything to public as a default. My dad recently joined Facebook and his profile was completely open and he wouldn't have had a clue if I hadn't had a fiddle for him.

(Not that he goes on raunchy hen nights! Grin)

But like I say, if teachers had trawled through and found the kids' profiles and published them ... would that have been OK?

I don't think it would be ok. Would it be ok if the teachers trawled through the facebook accounts of the parents?

I think it's wrong of the daily mail to give ut so much exposure but it's the daily mail !

Cor - I am off to blackmail my teacher friends with the photos I have of them falling out of that casino totally drunk after a night of heavy gambling. And they are maths teachers - they know the odds.... And I think prim Mrs Smythe Head of lower years was showing a bit too much cleavage.... Though I never thought those legs were hiding under her ankle length flowery skirts.
The Daily Grail will love it.

Do you think there would have been the same reaction if these teachers were male?

I am friends with some of the staff at nursery and can see photos of their nights out - the only reaction I have is envy!!

It's clear this parent has further issues with the school and is just using this as an excuse to be a complete bitch. The fact she is calling for the old headmaster to return and feplacethe new one is a bit of a giveaway that whatever issue she has goes far deeper and is probably grown from personal bitterness.

I only hope one day someone digs up some dirt on her and ruins the career she put all her time and effort into achieving, cause becoming a teacher isn't easy, or cheap. What gives her the right to destroy what these women have worked so hard for over them having fun on a hen night?
