I'm still smirking over the golden globes debacle. I don't think we've had a thread on this yet...and this should probably be on another part of the site but cba to look for it Grin

I have to say he did make me laugh when I saw all his Globe clips on Utube!

Real funny.

I hate him.
His teeth scare me.

I watched this last night and wondered if it had been discussed on MN.

It was painful, but great. They really can't laugh at themselves can they??

I reckon he really wanted to go too far nd ensure he's never asked back. I think he has a huge issue with celebrity culture and the self congratulatory tone of Hollywood and wanted to stick two fingers up to them.

Good on him.

I loved it when he introduced Bruce Willis as 'it's Ashton Kutchers Dad' Grin. didn't see how Bruce took tis thoug?

I saw him do stand up last year and it was (incredibly short) very ahem provocative but not very funny. He is no Bill Hicks. I've always been a fan but he does seem to be sharpening his pointy stick these days.

YOU ARE BEING UNBELIEVABLY UNREASONABLE!!!

I have no idea what happened at the Golden Globes though because if he appeatrs on my TV screen I get the urge to throw something very big and very heavy through it simply because I have a total irrational hatred of the ARSEY TWAT! Angry

Right rant over and yes I realise it is completely odd but I watched about 3 minutes of The Office once and ever since I have hated, nay, LOATHED him!!!

:o

Now I don't normally like him but I actually thought he did a good job.

yy Ashton Kutcher ...LOL

I used to like him, then went off him. But good lord!! The man is back with a bang.

I can't wait to see more of this. I have a similar sense of humour (obviously I'm not as funny as he is, otherwise I'd be a star Grin )
and sometimes get Hmm faces from people who don't know me well when I say things. Which (and watch how I stealthily weave this into totally unrelated convo), is why I'm really nervous about the imminent airing of my come dine with me episodes.

Oh I somehow managed to miss this. What was the debacle?

I like himGrin

I'm not a fan at all of his (apart from Idiot Broad and that was due to Karl Pilkington) but I did think some of the stuff he said was funny. Typical a list snobs can't possibly laugh at themselves though.

British humour at an American award show was never going to go down well.

I thought it was just a nice change to see someone not brown-nosing the A-Listers for a change. Even if I don't usually like him.

the gay scientologist bit was the winner imo. You could sense the fear and awe they all have for Mr. TC. How dare Ricky Gervais say such a thing Shock

Robert de Niro was crying with laughter. I love him too now.

Apparently de Niro made his own near the knuckle joke which didn't go down well and hesaid he thought it was going to be a more fun night than that.

Robert downey jnr didn't take it well, and was very sniffy that RG should dare to mention his SECRET drug problems from the past.

The guy with Tom hanks whose introduction suggested he was a nobody (Tim Allen?) was also very snotty. I'm sure British celebs would have taken this in there stride and joined in the self deprecation. Most anyway.

I loved The Office and extras but find his stand-up very difficult to watch.

Something about his mannerisms make me uncomfortable and when interviewed I find his laugh a bit off-putting.

I have heard some of the jokes he made at the golden globes but not seen it.

I thought they were funny and not overly offensive to those concerned.

I thought Johnny Depp had enough of a pair to take it and give it back when required. Same with Robert Downey Jnr.

Not surprised Angellina sulked.

Tom Hanks made a big sulky girly remark about him I think but I don't think he's really into humour.

I missed the gay scientologist bit - I wonder who that was about ???????????????!

I wonder who lined him up to do that. Genius! They just didn't get it at all did they?

Hilarious and great to see them being taken down a peg or twoGrin I bet they hate him now, not that he'd care one bit.

He was brilliant, but then he always is.
He said before hand he wanted to ensure he was never asked back but tbf he may well be as the last 2 years when he's hosted are the only real instances of anyone paying any attention to the actual GG award ceremonies beyond the red carpet.
