Runoutofideas Fri 02-Dec-11 11:08:21

Amazon - seem to have placed hundereds of orders with them and they've always arrived speedily with free delivery too.

Agree with the book people - speedy and no problems.

I remember when I first did internet christmas shopping when pregnant with dd1 so 7 years ago, I had problems with Boots, Marks and Spencer and Next deliveries - they all seem to have sorted themselves out much more efficiently now.

Avoid Debenhams, I'll never order anything from them anymore!!

Amazon.co.uk - always quick, have ordered loads and never had any problems.

M&S - also quick.

huggiemonster Fri 02-Dec-11 12:44:44

I agree - DO NOT SHOP WITH DEBENHAMS AT THE MOMENT - IF EVER!

Celtic Sheepskin, M&S, House of Fraser are all good.

Woolgar's Toys- ordered loads of bargain stocking toys from there and they came next day.

play.com - always good delivery and free too!

Ernest Jones - excellent customer service when i ordered a charm for my mum, but messed up, completely my fault but they fixed it very quickly.

Amazon- they buggered up a few of my deliveries last year but all has gone well this year

Aviod: H+M - charged me nearly double by accident and refused to refund me, had to get the bank to step in, rudest staff i have ever encountered

M&S, Paperchase and Habitat.

Funky Childrens Furniture - fab products, speedy delivery, and excellent customer service (a lovely lady phoned to check all was well with my deliveries).

So far so good with Amazon

Book People painfully slow as always but they are very cheap

Amazon are always good I find. I've bought a few things from Whittards this year online which have been delivered quickly.

I'm a bit cross with Play.com as I ordered a copy of the Jolly Christmas Postman when it was still about £9 and in stock hmm. 6 weeks later I'm still waiting and it's now about £30-odd hmm.

I've seen some nice stocking fillers etc on Tickseed, but as I've already bought far too much I've resisted so far!

storminabuttercup Fri 02-Dec-11 14:32:09

Tickseed was very good and quick for me

Amazon as always

Cheapscents was quick

Bodykind.com have been excellent.
Fragrancedirect is good too.

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom Fri 02-Dec-11 14:45:10

The Tickseed bloke phoned me up at 9pm at night to check something and I can't decide if it was a good thing or not confused Something was out of stock and he was checking if it was actually a Christmas order or if it was for a party so time was of the essence so to speak. I was a bit hmm - it could have waited til a reasonable hour, but otoh he might have thought I'd be out all day... just one of those things that made me go hmm but I'm weird
Woolgar's were good.
The Glow Company were good - I bought "mystic lanterns" as stocking fillers and they're lovely and batteries included which is always nice and I reckon it would have cost me more for batteries than I paid for the whole thing
The Soap Bops girl is lovely, she is a "one man band" and makes everything herself and it arrives beautifully packed, and she is ever so helpful with special items and gift ideas and things grin

I haven't done ANYTHING yet

crikeybadger Fri 02-Dec-11 14:52:44

Have just ordered some blankets from Barefoot Kitchen.

Never used them before and only found the site by chance, but the blankets arrived well packaged, really quickly and are absolutely fab.

SenoritaViva Fri 02-Dec-11 14:52:55

Okka really screwed my mum around so I would not recommend them. It was their fault (they sent the wrong sized mattress with bed) which they claimed was 'impossible' and refused to believe her for days. It caused a great deal of time and stress. I wouldn't recommend them.

Good:

firebox.com for teenagers is fab

PomBear - I've had that with Tickseed as well, phone calls at all hours. Their site brings up a security cert issue at work as well, so not 100% convinced about them. I'm sure their delivery is fine and everything but I don't think it's a very secure site.

BlueChampagne Fri 02-Dec-11 15:48:00

Hobbycraft - v quick delivery www.hobbycraft.co.uk/

Tinselitis Fri 02-Dec-11 15:52:26

bessie26 Fri 02-Dec-11 16:03:12

amazon (this discount thingy might be worth a go?) & truprint (everyone's getting calendars this year!)

AnyoneforTurps Fri 02-Dec-11 16:04:26

Avoid Zara unless you are sure you'll be keeping the order. The delivery process is fine but returns are an absolute nightmare.

Karen Millen are excellent, not that I can fit into most of their stuff sad

Next, esp in store delivery

Watch out for things delivered by Yodel - they randomly delivered my parcel to my neighbour without telling me by leaving a card and on their tracker it has the person's last name (which I didn't know) not their house number. Also they left me parcels in a 'safe place' which I had to hunt for - my bin and right on my door step! angry

Ohforfoxsake Fri 02-Dec-11 16:45:02

Has no one mentioned dotcomgiftshop?? fab. Santa gets lots of his stuff from there.

ToDoodles Fri 02-Dec-11 16:52:46

ELC are doing some fab offers 20-50% off with delivery offers. Using www.quidco.com to collect cask back too grin
