Thanks WWB - not just cream horns, but chocolate cream horns.

I guess it shouldn't be such a surprise (the control thing), but it was me catching myself thinking it, and having enough 'distance' to realise it that amazed me.

We had a re-run of Christmas this afternoon. Tried to go to the swimming pool, but the toddler pool was closed because they'd got the chlorine levels wrong. So we came home, and had some leftover mince pies that were in the freezer (MIL had brought them down over Christmas, but we hadn't eaten them all), and there was still an unstarted thing of her home-made brandy butter, and we watched a James Bond film. Was lovely.

JackieNo · 27/01/2008 18:29

And how are you feeling now, WWB? Any better? Did you manage to take any time off work?

Report
WigWamBam · 27/01/2008 19:08

Feeling crappy really. Tired and weepy, still a bit sore and crampy, not had much chance to rest over the week. Dh is doing a particularly good impression of an arsehole at the moment as well, which doesn't help.

Mince pies, brandy butter and James Bond ... can't be bad

Could really murder one of those chocolate cream horns ...

. You need some looking after, woman . Can you enlist DD to wait on you?

@ cream horn

shame you aren't closer WWB. I could come round with shepherd's pie and bustle and be annoying

Report
JackieNo · 27/01/2008 21:53

You have a bustle, TigerFeet? .

But that's what WWB needs - some tlc. Can you call in sick tomorrow, WWB, and just relax for a day (or 2)?

TigerFeet · 27/01/2008 21:57

don't need one - my arse does the job all by itself!

Shepherd's pie and a bustle sounds like an interesting combination

Yeah, could probably have done with a bit of tlc last week. As it was I was cooking tea for dh, dd and my mother within a couple of hours of getting out of hospital, and it has continued in much the same vein since.

Am feeling more human again today though so touch wood things are on the up. I could slap the gynae, though, who told me that everything would be back to normal within 24 hours ... (a male gynae, it probably goes without saying!).

The bustle could come in extremely handy for hiding my secret chocolate stash

Glad you are feeling better WWB. Am for you that you didn't get much of a break.

Just a thought though, and I don't want to worry you unduly, but is it normal to still be feeling rotten now if the gynae said not? Could it be worth getting it checked out? You know, just in case? [fret]

Glad you're starting to feel better, WWB - don't rush into stuff. Take it easy, even though you feel better.

howdy y'all! In my new flat and all, get me woop! have bought frozen peas and many veg for new steamer, all set up! hurrah! After only two days im so much happier in this job, had to pop back to old today to drop somrthing off and was just so awkward- after 5 months living there, its mad!

Think new boss has a set o scales so should be weighed soon! I have been running a bit- only do this with coat on and buggy in front to hide wobbles, this is a big thing for me- only manage a minute, walk a minute etc but still feel good about it!

JackieNo · 29/01/2008 22:11

Yay - hello again MightyMoosh - glad you've settled in OK, and it must be fab to be able to cook whatever you want. Good on you with the running too - anything like that has to be a good thing, especially if you're just doing it as part of everyday life, rather than having to make time specially to do it, iyswim.

MightyMoosh · 29/01/2008 22:15

yup. Ive always been one to walk everywhere- miles a day! Have just been givena pedometer by new boss so will see tomorow if its enough! Never tried one before, always wondered if I walk enough....

Report
TigerFeet · 30/01/2008 12:43

I had a pedometer for a while - I washed it and it never work again

I found that if I walked into town and back (3 mile round trip) that was around 5000 steps iirc. It was a looooong time ago!

Jackie are you still running?

Weigh in tonight [quake] I haven't been too good this week - a bottle of wine last week after a particularly shitty day, pizza for tea one night then another night making a serious dent in a tin of Roses

JackieNo · 30/01/2008 15:34

TigerFeet - yes, starting again after having hardly been since Christmas (combination of crap weather, no time, and mostly having a pretty much non-stop cough/cold since them). But am back to it now, in fact, am sitting here in my running gear now, about to take DD to ballet, then jog round the field with my much fitter friend while our girls are in their lesson. Oh, and have a chat while we're at it.

OK I am nearly ready to rejoin properly

try my new diet - have a biggish lunch and then spend all evening playing Scramble against strangers on Facebook, interspersed with Scrabulous. Before you know it, it's 11pm and you haven't had any dinner!

have lost about 3 pounds this week - nearly back to where I was again

Hurrah! We've done it!

Last few on there way to the tax office in a car as we speak!!!!!

I gave up on the website this morning, it's been 'off line' since 9.00am when every accountant in the land tried to log in and submit stuff

I got up at 2.00am and got a whole load done and dusted with little difficulty, then came into the office at 7.00am to deal with any that were left by other collegues (I'm the only one posting the bloody things down the wire cos everyone else thinks computers are the work of the devil ) I managed to get about another 4 submitted but the system was already slowing down.....and then it went into melt down {grin]

I'm going home to bed in a while!

DH has promised me a BIG bar of chocolate all to myself tonight! Then I'll get back to the healthy eating/exercise plan

Well done LMS is that the horrid bit over with for another year?

MM - weigh in is Thursday, email is [email protected] or just post on here. Glad you are settling in, sounds like you've found a good'un there

Report
JackieNo · 31/01/2008 15:44

Well done on the weight losses TigerFeet and MrsJC - I've stayed the same this week, but am OK with that.

LMS - well done on getting all those sorted - you've definitely earned that bar of chocolate.

MightyMoosh - as TigerFeet says, but if you want to feature on WWB's official 'list' of gainers() or losers, best to email, as a post on here can get lost if there are lots of others.

Well today I will be mostly at home tending to DS, who has a throwing up thing. Very annoying, but there are loads of bugs doing the rounds, apparently. I'm torn between wanting to open the mahoosive bar of chocolate that's still sitting there, supposed to be a present for SIL, but also worried I'm going to get the lurgy too, so reluctant to eat too much.

Hello all - didn't make it to WW this week, so I'm not posting anything about loss/gain. However, I have had a fairly dire week food wise. Just snacking a lot. I NEEEEEEEEEEEED to get back into my pre-Christmas frame of mind!

Right. Whose up for a quickie!!!!! No, not that sort!

Does anyone fancy a meet-up at my house (Birmingham/Worcester sort of direction) on either Friday 29th Feb or Friday 7th March.

DH is away two weekends on the trot, so I thought I might as well make the most of it!!

I will have dd with me, but think that some of you will have children at school that you'll need to get back for.

Is this a terrible idea at really short notice???

Alternatively, when are your Easter Holidays? They seem to be really variable around the country this year because of the early Easter.

Report
TigerFeet · 01/02/2008 17:58

I could manage either of those dates Littlefish I would be bringing dd too.
