Oh no....only the weekend left to do all the work I brought home!

I've had a great half term but since Tuesday I have felt guilty about not doing the work I need to do before Monday. Now I am going to have to get up early tomorrow and Sunday to get it done.

Will anyone else be working so I don't feel so lonely?

Don't!!! I spend so much time procrastinating about work - it hasn't taken over my whole week and I have achieved nothing. Am going to have a mad couple of days trying to get it all done. Feel so fed up and depressed.

Me too. And I have promised to go with ds to a bonfire and fireworks tomorrow night...and I have to dye my hair (roots are really showing)...so why am I sitting here on MN and playing Words With Friends instead of making a start.

Thank you for being with me on this. X

At least we're not alone. My dh is also a teacher but has no work to do! So annoying. Needless to say he doesn't have a classroom based job.

Sharing the pain and marking load here. Exercise books and CAs have been festering like a bad smell in the spare room all week..tomorrow they will be fumigated!

I had such good intentions too!
No chance to catch up once we're back into term as it is monstrously busy from the start. (I have had a lovely half term break though ....)

Me too.

I've done the marking but the planning is still unfinished. I've thought about it quite a lot, in fact if I did as much doing as thinking I'd be ahead of myself.

Yes - I sympathise with you hugely. I am a student but due to an accident 2 weeks into the term I had lots of time off. Went back 2 weeks before the half term break and had been maxed out with assignments etc trying to catch up, staying up late every night and thinking - Oh well, wt leat when half term comes I can catch up.
Did 5 hours Wednesday but still have 2 rather large assignments to do. One by Tuesday and one by Wedensday next week but in reality only have today and tomorrow because Monday I have a full day of appointments.
Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh. I cant even make a start tonight because I had some treatment earlier today that makes me drowsy so really not got the brain power for any thoughtful work.

Oh and then there is the guilt. My DC are older so dont need supervision per se but go to boarding school so time with them is so precious. Feeling rather grumpy and fed up.

I feel for you Flabby...you put my problems in perspective.

Thanks everyone: I still feel under pressure but not so alone.

And I'm beating ds on Words!

I still have loads of work to do too. I'm being observed on Wednesday and haven't even started to plan that lesson :(

I still have 3 sets of books to mark, and I have barely looked at the schemes of work for next half term to even know what topic to plan lessons about. I've promised dd2 that I will take her swimming tomorrow and I have to clean my bedroom because I've let it get into a teenage pit type state.

I have got all my planning still to do and a pile of marking left as well as lots of other jobs.

Why do I always do this?????

petalpower · 01/11/2013 21:31

I'm being observed on Wednesday too Anti! I started to think about the lesson today but don't feel very confident about it. I need to make sure I get at least good for my PM target too. No pressure there then!!

Yes! Why does this ALWAYS happen? Why do I never learn?

Phew! I'm not the only one. However, I've worked bloody hard past 8 weeks and had little or no time for my DC so I refuse to feel bad. Naturally next two days are going to be marking and ironing he'll... boo!

LuvMyBoyz · 01/11/2013 21:38

I like your refusal to feel bad, Violet, so I'm refusing to feel bad, too!

I think a little glass of Jack Daniels will help. Cheers, everyone. xx

Me too. I planned to get so much done, but spent time with my son instead of putting him in childcare for the week. I went into school today and got a tiny bit done.

I thought I'd feel good for spending time with ds, but I just feel guilty and stressed now. argh!

Report
LuvMyBoyz · 01/11/2013 21:51

We'll all just have to get down to it tomorrow (although I have to dye my hair first and AntiJam will have to go swimming) and keep going until the worst is over.

Don't forget to do your most horrible task first for a great sense of achievement (Petal and AntiJam: get that observed lesson planned. Flabby:make a start on those assignments).

Good luck everyone!

I'm planning on getting up early and cracking on with it before we go out to an 80th birthday celebration at lunchtime. Hopefully a bit of Strictly and a glass or two of something lovely tomorrow night then work, work, work (and iron!) on Sunday.

Me too - and I have student teachers in on Monday and Tuesday.

Jealous of those who know when observations are - we get a 1 week window so 10 1.5 hour lessons to prep for! :-(

That's a bit rough howmuch. That must be a mega stressful week. I bet you hope it gets done and dusted on a Monday!

Report
howmuchwouldyoutake · 01/11/2013 22:19

We pray for Monday observations - wouldn't care but they're 'in house' so no reason not to tell us.

Tbh we're all so short staffed and stretched that I'm not bothering doing anything extra this year - we all bust our balls every day and do our best by the students so why produce extra paperwork??

Rant over - sorry for the mini hijack. Back to my Wine

Report
ReluctantBeing · 01/11/2013 22:24

I'm being observed on Friday. Do you all have to produce reams of paperwork for internal observations too?
