Monday's order of play is up on the Wimbledon website now.

YonicScrewdriver · 04/07/2015 23:58

Thanks drama! I will get to see colic and jankovic

YonicScrewdriver · 04/07/2015 23:59

Cilic!!!

HenriettaTurkey · 05/07/2015 01:10

Come on Tim!

I'll get me coat...

magimedi · 05/07/2015 08:11

WTF am I going to do today?

Mind you, it is raining really hard, with a ot more to come so I suspect it is raining at Wimbledon as well (only about 40 miles N of us) so maybe it's good that there is no play.

TobikkoRoll · 05/07/2015 09:37

Hi MrsV

I'm watching less Wimby this year as Rafa's no longer with us... Really don't mind who wins now as long as it's not SynthFed

Also am switching between hunky men in white to hunky men in lycra, now that the TdF has started. I'll have to go find that thread and hope they're as friendly as you guys Grin

HenriettaTurkey · 05/07/2015 09:45

There's also cars zooming round in circles in the midlands today. That may entertain me for a bit. A year ago I was heading off to watch TdeF down the road. And, by spectacularly bad planning, silverstone and Fed v Djokovic were also occuring!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/07/2015 11:06

Thanks for the shiny new thread MrsV Tennis

No tennis today Sad

MirandaWest · 05/07/2015 13:02

I feel something is missing. I need more tennis. And I start a new job on Wednesday which will rather cut my watching

DramaAlpaca · 05/07/2015 14:13

I'm watching the Tour de France today. Actually quite gutted that this year Wimbledon & the Tour overlap by a week. How am I going to fit in watching both???

Tobikko come & join us on the MN peloton TdeF thread in Sports. We're a very friendly & welcoming lot too Smile. There's another thread in Chat as well - I'm on both so I won't miss anything.

Hi all. Sorry it's taken so long to post...had brilliant day yesterday very long and hot but great! Seats were just where players come on so had great view. Will add a few photos we've spotted ourselves on TV coverage and in today's Sunday times (if you've got it have a look at pic of jankovic falling over after her win and we just to left of her feet!). DH wore a pale blue polo shirt so easy to spot.

My conclusions...Sam Groth nice guy kept thanking ballgirls and boys and apologising when he tossed the ball up "sorry mate". Federer I have to say disappointed thought he came off court very grumpy we were just in the section where people want autographs etc and he hardly stopped. Rafa signs more when he has lost! Jankovic was lovely. DH reckons she smiled at him when coming off court. She was so pleased to win and happy to sign lots..Murray was good as well and signed lots. He turned round on the way back in after winning and waved....at me! Btw saw lots of examples of not very sensible footwear! Gtg but will chat more later...lol at fed being a synth and have to agree!!

Great pictures, purple .Sounds like you had an amazing day.

Not surprised by what you say about Fed, though- although he came across as very affable in his interview with Sue, I do think he forgets that he has fans, despite apparently always being a fan favourite. Rafa has a bigger twitter following anyway. Grin

Have had a boring day- dd1 announced her school shoes were falling apart (which is appears, they are) so had to go out and find somewhere to get her a cheap pair for the THREE WEEKS left of term. Damned if I was spending a fortune- her feet have grown 2 sizes since Christmas- she's not even 9 til August, and is already a 2. As am I Grin except i'm 43 . I was certainly not going down the Clarkes route, on the off chance she's grown again before September.

Took the dog to a dog-friendly pub that we have been to a few times, but he is the world's most unsociable pooch, despite many hours spent trying to socialise him. takes after me .The biggest problem with him, is he has the squeakiest bark. He sounds like we are strangling him. Smaller dogs looks at him as if to say 'wtf?' and wander off. He continues to squeak after him. His voice needs to break, he is embarrassing. Grin

Got back to the car, just in time for a massive storm. Grin

Am looking forward to a new week of tennis. Seems strange with the extra week- as this weekend should have been finals. My facebook told me that I posted about the Federer/Roddick final in 2009Grin

Great pics purple. Glad you had a good day.

purpleprincess · 05/07/2015 19:30

Sorry you've had boring day Raah. We have but we were catching up as out all day yesterday plus the excitement of seeing ourselves in TV and in the papers...Blush and reliving bits of the matches....agree about Fed. Tbh I prefer his alter ego Pseudo Fed (look him up on Twitter and FB). Have to say I'm warming to Djokovic as do think he appreciates his fans and tries hard to keep them happy. Obvs he has a lot to live up to vs fed and Rafa. Anyhooo. Will be trying to watch lots of tennis tomorrow as its my day off and will see how rest of week pans out.....

Raahh · 05/07/2015 19:47

Grin @ you being on tv in and in the papersGrin

That is so cool.

I agree about Djok. I think Fed at one point became too big headed, - all the adverts with the likes of people like Tiger Woods (another one who thought himself bigger than his sport, not doing so well now, is he?) and Beckham (who for many reasons, I can't stand), and the monogrammed cardigans ,which were just so twee. And made him look like a pompous twitGrin

Starting to lose made him seem more human. But he's still a synth- and now he is winning again. Must have had an upgrade Grin

I only watch him for glimpses of the lovely Stefan.

Tennis

purpleprincess · 05/07/2015 20:40

No Stefan yesterday Sad although didn't really matter as didn't have very good view of players box. Could kind of see royal box and DH told me boris was in in the box and occasionally I could see the top of his head (very distinctive) when I stood on tiptoes. DH has also found link on daily fail website which has some good shots of Murray with us in background but also includes shot of duchess of Cambridge applauding Murray which is odd as she definitely wasn't there! Aaarf at DM journo thinkiing they'd just stick a pic of her in there anyway.....have had to ask DH to stop being so narcissistic soon Blush....

Grin

Boris looked very, very pink.

We are concerned for his health.

magimedi · 05/07/2015 20:50

Boris looks like a boiled lobster.

He is not in my top 10 (or top 100).

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Raahh · 05/07/2015 20:53

I never liked him as a player, (all that throwing himself about, 'bonking Boris' and of course the Edberg rivalry) He seems like a funny bloke, but he is far from fanciable.

Must have been dark in that cupboard Wink.
