frigging awesome!
I used a method from this thread and then something similar to trim the back.
I did have same length below shoulder hair and now it is all layered and light and pretty.
And it took 10 minutes in the kitchen with a brush, hairband and some scissors!
Thanks!
I need to do mine.
Women's hair cuts are well and truly a rip off. They really are and I go without because I don't like being ripped off.
Did you put the ponytail in the centre of your head?
i did my fringe it's a bit odd
guess i need proper scissors not nail ones
I'm soooo tempted. I only want to take a bit off and I've done it before but DH thought I was going mad.
Pic pls!
Yes, we need pics!
I did 2 ponytails. One on the front to the side (like in the video) and another on the top of my head in teh centre.
That way I have a 'styled' layered fringey bit (the shortest bits hit just above my chin) and then the back has lost a load of the scraggy bits as well that were missed with teh first cut.
10 minutes?!?!?!??
I am waiting for them to copy over from my phone!
Yup. I actually did it twice. I did the forn bit earlier this afternoon.
Put hair in ponytail, chopped about 2 inches off and then cut into it.
Then after I put DD's to bed I decided the back looked ridiculous and scraggy so I did that too in teh same way (although with a bit more contortion...
)
No way would I cut my own hair.
What scissors did you use?
I really can't be arsed blowing £30 for someone to spend the same amount of time they spend cutting DH's hair down the street for £8.
pics pics pics!
But Soupy, as expat says, haircuts are a complete rip off.
I can't justify spending 30-40 quid to make my hair look pretty when that would feed us for half a week.
I only get my haircut on my birthday as DH bungs me money to spend on myself on hair, massage etc, otherwise I refuse to pay it myself.
I have been thinking about it for a few weeks though and chickening out
Pics are coming!
I used my kitchen scissors
and cut it into the bin.
DH has just come home and after squinting at me suspiciously has asked if I have done anything to my hair.
he does say that it does not lookas if I did it myself though, which is good (He has never lied to spare my feelings.....
)
I agree, Jack. Plus, EVERY hairdresser I've been to here cuts it way too short for my liking because I'm over 35. Short hair doesn't suit my face shape.
Seriously, I don't know why they charge so much and expect people to keep paying for that every 6 weeks or so in this recession.
The pony-tail hair cut is wonderful!
Good for you! I've been cutting my own hair for years, and get lots of compliments on it.
People think I still go to the (very expensive) hairdresser I used to go to. I used to watch very carefully what he was doing, and it paid off.
I tear pictures of haircuts I like from magazines, study them carefully, and ta-da!
Cutting hair is NOT rocket science
okay, bear in mind disclaimers for not sleeping/no make-up/grumpy toddlers etc etc.
Before Note the scraggly ends, ncie!
Front ponytail then I chopped this much off the end (about 2-3 inches) and cut into it about another inch or so to feather it.
After and again (plus make-up...oh the vanity
(Note toddlers disctracted by telly in background...)
and this is the side view after I did the back I did this ponytail right on the crown of my head and tipped my head upside down over the kitchen bin to cut it. I do nt recommend this unless you have emptied the bin already <boak>
So easy!
Looks good!
This is why I have a hairdresser for a sister. Cuts and colours my hair for free, I just pay for the dye. Could cost me approx £50 in the salon.
notmyelftoday.
thanks!
I want straight hair. I'd love that cut
JB, that looks FANTASTIC!! You should be really chuffed!
