I hope this is still acceptable!

Dresses are so, so short everywhere!

Leggings mean I don't have to fake tan blush and keep me warm!

Will you be wearing leggings this summer?

TiggerWearsATriteSmile Fri 24-May-13 15:21:08

No.

No way.

They completely ruin the look of pretty summer dresses.

There are long enough ones out there but agree that Primark etc are full of barely arse skimming frocks. And I'm only wee so who exactly are they designed for?? confused

I wear footless tights and sandals as my feet get warm and my legs don't. I am happy with this smile

It is def

MirandaWest Fri 24-May-13 15:28:39

Gah.

Is definitely better than the person I saw yesterday with v thin leggings on and a top that didn't cover her bottom. At least I could see she was wearing knickers I suppose....

Pinkflipflop Fri 24-May-13 15:29:41

blush I am so lacking in style!

miranda which footless tights do you wear? I always find them v sheer looking.

Pagwatch Fri 24-May-13 15:30:30

God no.

Anjelika Fri 24-May-13 15:30:47

I certainly will - either leggings or footless tights - as I suffer with veins on my legs and need an alternative to the maxi dress.

sjuperyoni Fri 24-May-13 15:31:37

I've bought cropped leggings for some dresses from last year that my huge bump have rendered too short this year. Dresses thst come to mid/low thigh or longer i just wear alone. Long leggings under look queer to me, shorter ones look nice imo.

derektheladyhamster Fri 24-May-13 15:32:09

I will be too

starfishmummy Fri 24-May-13 15:32:17

I don't wear short skirts but if the weather carries on like this I will be hiding leggings under everything to keep warm!

mummywantsaliedown Fri 24-May-13 15:34:37

Cropped leggings for me, much too afraid of showing tomorrows laundry every time bend down to play with the kids.
But then I wouldn't describe myself as very fashion conscious :-)

CajaDeLaMemoria Fri 24-May-13 15:35:13

No, not leggings. It looks horrid, completely ruins the look.

Tights (maybe thick ones if it stays like this!) or jeans.

ifancyashandy Fri 24-May-13 15:37:49

Not in a million. Commit to the skirt!

PareyMortas Fri 24-May-13 15:40:32

No, not a good look.

FrugalFashionista Fri 24-May-13 15:46:49

Leggings under a dress and particularly leggings under a skirt will make almost any dress look dated. Exception allowed if you are pregnant (fewer choices in maternitywear).

Opaques and sheer tights are fine, but don't go for the cropped legging look.

Startail Fri 24-May-13 15:58:14

Dresses are garments that come to mid calf. Anything shorter is a tunic and can be worn with leggings under it!

ihatethecold Fri 24-May-13 15:58:58

I must be dated then. shock

Very summery dresses I wouldn't but normal dresses I would. After 3 pregnancies how am I supposed to hide the damage (veins etc)?

Also if its above the knee to much then they need coverage.

Knee length I can cope with the exposure wink

MousyMouse Fri 24-May-13 16:00:52

no
it's just to bloody cold for anything but woolen jumper

Ihatemytoes Fri 24-May-13 16:02:43

No. Never have, never will!

Pendipidy Fri 24-May-13 16:04:19

I was thinking this about a white dress i have bought for summer. But white leggings? Think it could look bad...

defineme Fri 24-May-13 16:05:59

So leggings no people, what are women with unsightly varicose veins supposed to do? If it's warmish and you don't fancy a maxi dress or trousers, what would you suggest? Is a tunic and leggings ok?Genuine question...

Surely anything shorter than a couple of inches above the knee will require leggings? Or is that classed as a tunic? <easily confused>

SantanaLopez Fri 24-May-13 16:12:19

Nope!

AnnoyedByAlfieBear Fri 24-May-13 16:14:12

I'd wear tunics and leggings. My legs are atrocious.
