Sleep

Don't hate me - my toddler likes lying in....

My ds (2 in a few weeks) seems to have become partial to a lie-in - 9am today. More often 8ish but sometimes 8.30.

I know I am ridiculously lucky! Is there any reason I should wake him up earlier - he still goes to sleep again at 1pm for a while although he is getting harder to settle at bedtime and now only goes to sleep at 8.

Is there any downside to this or should I just enjoy it?

enjoy it, I would say 2 or 3 mornings a week my ds will sleep in till 8.30 and I see no reason to wake him! or any reason to get up myself and do stuff

my toddler slept til 12 yesterday

beat that!

don't wake her just enjoy the lie in, soon enough you'll have to be dragging her out for school and you'll miss this.

DS still likes a nap but would stay there for hours if i let him and then won't go to bed at 7pm. If I go to wake him from a nap he just rolls aways from me and goes back to sleep

lol, dd does that, if we wake her for playscool she often shouts 'no, sasa sleep' and rolls over and goes back down

i don't think we've ever arrived at playschool on time yet

bizarrely mine don't do naps though, dd dropped hers at 16/17 months and ds is 10 months and went all day today with no nap and never has more than one.

i'm like that too, can't do naps but love big long stretches at night!

Mine are up between 6am and 7am most mornings. But they do still have a nap at lunchtime, so I am not tooo bothered. No, really, I am not.

You'll all get non-sleeping second children, you know that?

Twinklemegan · 28/05/2007 00:08

Does that mean I get one that lies in?

SInce the clocks changed ds has decided that 5am is a good time to get up. Except for Sunday morning when he got up at 4am.

He gave up naps about a year ago.

Do any of you want to swop?

Twinklemegan · 28/05/2007 00:28

Nope - sounds too like mine [can you hear him screaming in the background as we speak?]

Ha, you'll all be laughing on the other side of your faces when you are late to school every day .... [not jealous really] ... he he he.

My DS wakes between 6 and 6.30am ... I am a smug mother who never gets it when people turn up late at school looking stressed and harrassed in the morning.

We have flippin' hours to kill in the mornings ...

[absolutely NOT jealous AT ALL emoticon]
