The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Soaking Up The Warm Sunshine, Instead Of The Warm White Wine!

Hi, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

A place for pouring out your heart without being judged, mostly because a lot of us have been exactly where you are right now, or somewhere similar.

We've been around for a while, so there's not much that we've not seen..... or heard.... or been through ourselves. Sad

Some of the Babes are newer to the Bus, some of the Babes have been here on dear old "Gerald" (The name this Bus was given by one of the Babes, I forget who now!I suspect IsinDe or Silver) for a little while longer!

EVERYONE is welcome here. Drinkers, those who are complete non drinkers, and those who are somewhere in the middle of all of the above. :)

Some Babes are in control of their drinking, some not so much. It's dreadfully hard some days, days when there is nothing going around your head except thinking that you MUST have a drink and you sit there trying to work out when, what time you can have that first mouthful of ice cold poison.

Whatever your goal here, or why you're here, we'll all help you along the way, YOUR WAY.

There will be one of us on here that can relate to your life story as if it were a mirror they were looking at, someone to hold your hand if you want it, catch you if you fall, which you may or may not. Positive thinking, just One Day At A Time.

No one Babe is better than any other, we've all been addicts. We've all suffered, yes some more than others but it's not a competition (and no-one gets turned away) but if you rack up shed loads of sober days, you will be a winner on the thread!! Grin

So, if you want somewhere safe to sit and enjoy the warming summer sun, come find a seat, have a chat or just sit and listen to the rest of us yakking on!! Grin

Nice to meet you :) all.

Also, here is the latest thread -

THE LATEST THREAD WE'VE SHARED OUR STORIES AND EXPERIENCES ON

And this is the very first thread -

AND THIS THREAD, THIS THREAD IS EXTREMELY SPECIAL BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE THE JOURNEY STARTED, AND HAS SINCE EVOLVED OVER THE LAST SIX YEARS

Hope to chat soon, Mousey x

Yay for Spanna. If my maths hasn't let me down (it usually does) it is day 100? Day 100 on a shiny new thread with a gorgeous summery fine weave and sparkly smock of smug for you. So proud of you.

Big question...what happens next, lovely one?

All good here. Kids break up today - soooo early, and such a long summer ahead. But bring it on!

Flowers Spanna, 100 days!!! Blooming marvellous indeed peanut Star. That is such a big distance from your last drink, so many pennies saved and no doubt much less self flagellation. You truly are an inspiration, very well done buttercup Smile

Hello to all babes, I am bagging a seat on the new bus. I am still trying and mostly winning but give into the old witch every now and again. It is a short lived joy though and leads nowhere new

Have a good day all xxx

Tis honeysuckleclimber here, decided my name was too sickly and it had to go. Sticking with the nature theme, as I do love the outdoors especially the garden with a large chilled glass of white

Today's not a good day for me Sad hope you're all having a nice day though Smile

Today is not a good day for me either Bee as someone (glares pointedly at Ma ) ate all the Opal Fruits. Bah! Angry Nice name by the way.

Spanna well done on 100 days, wooh!!!!! You are a Star. Have an Opal Fr.... Oh Hmm erm, have a stale biscuit. (glares pointedly at Ma again). I'll try to pop back with some Cake and Flowers later

Beaches, Small, Isinde good to see you.

Has anyone seen Baby lately? Or had any luck tracking down Wry ?

Won't be around much over the weekend as taking ds to big sporting event (exciting Grin ) which lasts until Saturday night and I am staying with friends from tomorrow (as he will be staying with the team).

Night out tomorrow but will be trying not to go over the top drinking (they are all North East girls, big boozers!) as don't want to ruin watching ds's big day by being hungover. So may just pop in on my phone for a bit of support from pub toilets, you are to send me instructions like 'slow down' and 'have a glass of water now' or 'isn't it time you had a coffee?' Grin. There will be food so planning to throw diet out of the window and gorge on pasta....

Hey Babes Smile

I was on the last thread very briefly before disappearing - I've spent the past few days going through awful withdrawal symptoms, the worst ever for me. I genuinely thought I wasn't going to make it through Friday night.

So now sobriety begins (again!). I'm too scared to ask the GP for LFTs at the moment, but will maybe go for them in a few weeks. I really do realise after last week that I don't have 9 lives with alcohol anymore - I'm 31 and I don't want to die.

Thanks to all who held my hand, you're all so lovely Flowers

Excitement in the demented house. Dd1's Spanish "friend" is arriving tomorrow at extremely short notice. She is lit up like a Christmas tree. We live in a small flat and the two adult DDS share a bedroom. "Where is this chap going to sleep?" I mused to which she replied airily " He can have dd2s bed in my room" (dd2 is away at the moment). Okayyyyyyy! I know almost nothing about him other than he is much older than her - he is 39!!!!. Pressing her for more info he apparently has long hair, a beard, tattoos and is "ripped". Well now, that changes things Grin. That sounds like a nice thing to come home to......

Well here you all are! FGS I just went to the land of sheep and rain Wales for 2 days, and when I got back you'd all gone to Switzerland and the old thread had disappeared!

And I couldn't even find a link to the new thread because isinde had used up about 40 posts... Grin

ma for once the sun is shining. Get out there - even if it is only for 2 minutes - take a tiny break in all the rushing around and feel the warmth on your face. Ahh bliss. Then back to normal for the rest of the day, but remember those 2 minutes of peace and warmth.

looking - big sporting event? talented son? Hmm ...... err, are you Judy Murray? Grin Grin For Friday night, download the drinking mirror app which shows what you will look like if in 10 years time and the ageing effect of drinking.

paradise good to see you back, and I'm so glad that you got through Friday night - that sounds really scary. What can we do to help build on your determination?

Morning babes Smile, all quiet in Obrigada world, did have some vino last night but didn't overindulge. Have a new puppy in the house who thinks it's ok to wake me up at 4.30 in the morning, early start and hangover are not a good combination Grin

Morning ladies. Sorry haven't posted for a while. After managing 26 AF days in June, I had 3 glasses of wine at MIL's birthday party 12 days ago. Unfortunately I haven't managed to have an AF day since Sad. I feel crap, pissed off and hungover. I've realised I'm not a "just a few glasses at weekend" sort of person and I'm unable to drink in moderation. I just feel totally exhausted by it all. So it's day 1 again! Hope you are all well lovely babes. Have a great day xx
