When I bought mine I had left it longer than nearly all my friends.

I bought literally on the first day I could (offer accepted on my first day on the job), and don't regret it at all! I was 27. Am now 30.

I was 19 and DH was 25.
I was 7 months pregnant when we got the keys and it was the first time we lived together.
It was 21 years ago.

I was 22, OH was just turned 24. Wish we could have bought earlier instead of renting but I know we were still very young to buy.

I was 23, DH was 25. Don't wish we'd bought earlier, 1) it would have been impossible and 2) we were bloody lucky to be able to buy then! That was 3 years ago and in London, prices went up a loooooot while we were there.

We bought ours in 2007, when property prices were at there highest. If we'd waited a year they'd have crashed so now our house is worth less than what we paid for it.

I was 34! It was only 4 years ago. I do sometimes wish I had bought in my 20's when property was much cheaper but I didn't want any ties at the time and had a lovely non-committed 20's. Most of my friends did the same as me but a few bought years ago and now they have massive houses as they had large deposits.

I was 19 . Pregnant and very lucky to have £45000 inheritance. That house made me £100000 over the following 10 years so even though it was sooner than I would have chosen it was a fantastic thing looking back.

I was 20 and DH 25. It was 7 years ago, we lived in sin for a couple of months before we got married.

I do look back and think we were so young - we'd been going out for nearly 2 years but it was a huge leap of faith, really, on his part - we bought it outright from an inheritance of his but were joint owners straight away.

Part of me wishes we'd waited and rented and just bought our family home, the one we're in now, straight away. You never get the same freedom again if you're doing simultaneous buy / sell. There's a beautiful house was up for sale at the same time as this one (our second house) - if we'd have been in rented, we could've done it up (full renovation living off site required) and ended up with a spectacular homs

We were both 20 (30 years ago). We're then totally skint for a year but so glad we did it. Moved up 3 more times and overpaid whenever we could so mortgage all paid off a few years ago.

My kids both rent in London and pay more in rent than we ever did on a mortgage, so have no savings for a deposit. It's so much harder now.

26 & 25. We bought of first home just before the bottom dropped out of the market etc In 2007 house cost 135k and it took a long time before we were out of negative equity. We sold that house for what we paid for it and have just bought our forever home at 36 and 35.

We've been lucky in that we live in a cheap part of the world. Our mortgage now is 170 which feels like a lot but isn't when I read what other people have to pay.

I wouldn't really change any of it. Our first house was a home not an investment. We were happy there, even if we had 'overpaid'

22, about 18 months after we graduated. It was 1994. Norwich. We paid £43,000 for a 3 bed semi with a conservatory and a garage in a block. We had a £8,500 deposit, £5,000 of which was a gift from my parents.
We each earned about £9,500 at the time.

I was 21 and bought with ExH. Remortgaged at 28 to buy him out. So glad I bought when I did because it's the SE and we bought with a 100% mortgage and it's increased by 50% in 8 years. Regret not borrowing the maximum offered and buying the biggest house we could. It would have paid off massively.

23 and was as soon as I could...but wish I'd waited longer to have more deposit not that it would have made much difference I suppose. Was 3 years ago and I've not lost money on the house (so far)
