I wonder how long your school run is for your reception child please?

2 minutes - we live just down the road

WhattodoSue Thu 19-May-16 16:14:16

20 minutes.

5 mins to the bus stop where dd1 is picked up, then 30 mins on the bus (no charge for this). After school the lovely bus driver drops dd1 at the front gate.

If I have to drive when dropping dd2 at preschool it's about 20 mins each way.

Major downside of rural living!

Ten minute walk.

It's been a 30-45 minute drive recently, bit that's because we moved the DC to their new schools before we moved house (long story). It's a nightmare and I'm very much looking forward to walking again.

0.5 a mile each way, so I allow 15 mins. Preschooler does it twice each way, sometimes on a scooter.

TeenAndTween Thu 19-May-16 16:45:37

7 minute walk

Pengweng Thu 19-May-16 16:56:34

3 min walk. It's at the bottom of the road.

LadyMonicaBaddingham Thu 19-May-16 16:58:15

10.5 miles because we live in the middle of nowhere smile

GrimmauldPlace Thu 19-May-16 16:59:35

About 1-2 minutes. Hasn't stopped DS being late twice this year blush

Mandzi34 Thu 19-May-16 17:02:53

50 minutes on foot. 30 minutes in the car.

jaffacakesareevil Thu 19-May-16 17:10:53

1 minute to the back gate, about 7 to the front.

ImaginaryCat Thu 19-May-16 17:13:50

5 mins when everyone's on good form, 10-15 when the Reception aged child turns to hellspawn en route.

JennyOnAPlate Thu 19-May-16 17:35:34

Half a mile so around 15 minutes depending on whether I'm dragging the Dc along by the hand or they're charging ahead.

Cleo1303 Thu 19-May-16 18:33:18

12-15 minutes by car, or sometimes 10 in the afternoon.

Now DD is at her secondary school it's 20 minutes there and sometimes 25 getting back. (Groan)

Longdistance Thu 19-May-16 18:38:51

60 seconds, but have to take them to breakfast club in the mornings.

louisejxxx Thu 19-May-16 18:48:02

15 mins driving. It would take about 2 hours walking.

MrAloysiusFlyte Thu 19-May-16 18:54:17

About 5 minutes if everyone is focused.

About 20 minutes if it's a flower picking, imaginary friend kind of day grin

dizzytomato Thu 19-May-16 18:58:57

10 minute walk (20 if the grass is the wrong colour that day) or 5 minutes on the bike.

WideWoman Thu 19-May-16 19:04:11

A 20 minute walk - about 3/4 of a mile.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler Thu 19-May-16 19:06:51

10 minute walk to the other side of the village.

BuggertheTabloids Thu 19-May-16 19:09:26

Half an hour walk each way. Both have done it since starting reception, soon got used to it.

mercifulTehlu Thu 19-May-16 19:10:36

Less than 2 minute walk.
