I'll be the first to admit that my worst one by far is piles!

DH - he is so knackered all the time, has a swollen tummy in sympathy (nowt to do with beer or pizza) he cannot sleep due to my bladder and SPD pain, I could go on, but just thinking about him is winding me up

Restless legs (which are now almost constant) - which in turn has given me the most horrendous varicose veins (4th pg, never had THOSE before!!)

It's a close run between heartburn, sore back/hips and constant itching that is driving me mad!

Better than the hyperemesis of last pregnancy though.

Tough call split between heartburn, achey hip and thrush

Panicmode I was also suffering from horrid restless legs and my OB prescribed me magnesium to take 2x a day. I have also upped my calcium and iron intake as some mumsnetters told me that could help. 1 week on and the symptoms have not gone but are SO much better. Hope it helps.

It's a toss up between the agonising pain I get in the tops of my thighs at night, and the ache of my boobs as they swell up to ridiculous proportions and spill over the top of all my maternity bras which were bought with room 'for growth'.

While I can't deny that my legs hurt by far the most, at least I only feel the effects when I try to roll over at night or get up in the morning, whereas my humungous boobs mean that not only am I uncomfortable, but that large numbers of maternity clothes don't actually fit properly. Why design maternity wear with no extra boob space?

Oooh, had awful thrush at one point. And most recently piles that had me crying in pain and which the dr couldn't have given a toss about. Both gone (for now) so I'll say restless legs and heartburn are my major pitas.

That and having to look in the garden and see all the things I have to do/plant/clear/dog poo to pick up which I know will just never get done..... sigh.

Let's see: SPD, blocked nose, restless legs, varicose veins, and the winner is..... itchy bump. I just can't stop scratching it and its red raw, somebody stop me, please.

SPD by far could cope with everything else

heartburn - have now got wonderdrugs for that
piles - cream
mad dreams
dry skin
madly emotional
big uncomfy bump

Stinky my dh is just the same!

When I was having ds1 I was admitted to hospital because of complications, the nurse told me to make myself comfortable whilst she went to fetch the doctor, when the doctor came in dh was lying flat out on the bed. The stress was just too much for him.

sweetkitty · 17/03/2010 11:10

celebmum - I'm on omaperazole now for acid reflux, it is brilliant, one tablet in the morning nothing all day, much nicer than drinking gaviscon by the bottle

Getting up for a wee 100 times a night from about - ooh, let's see - 6hrs post-conception?!

Report
cravingcroissants · 17/03/2010 11:15

This time around the worst thing is definitely not being able to walk anywhere without needing a wee (and then only doing a drop!) and that awful feeling that the baby is just going to drop out in the middle of town. It's a horrible feeling.

Super speedy heart rate - am now 34 weeks and my heart is banging around like I've just done a marathon (when all I've done is walk to the fridge - he).

That and needing to pee the whole time!

For me it's unwarranted bloody advice! Had my second scan today - everything fine - perfect little baby in there. DH and I over the moon and so giddy with excitement. Get into work to find an epic email - I'm talking pages - from the wife of a friend of DH with 'advice'.

I haven't seen this woman in years and never really got on with her anyway. I'd begged DH not to tell the friend in question as I knew this is what this woman would be like the moment she found out and low and behold...

Opening sentence 'get ready for your life to totally change..' I just stopped reading there and then, I know it's going to be full of how hard birth and motherhood is, how it negatively affects your relationship, how I should be preparing myself for the worse. I've gone from my happy, idyllic post scan bubble to just being really frustrated that someone I hardly know feels they can pour all their own negative emotions in my direction to make themselves feel better.

Sorry- just needed a rant. I think I'm going to delete the email without reading. I know it's rude, but I'm trying to regain my PMA right now.

Vulval varices...

And now it turns out - Phlebitis (inflammation of the veins in my legs)

Last pregnancy this one. Definitely. And nearly 39 weeks so the end is in sight.

Mine seems to be unusual - it's the baby kicking so hard that I can't sleep. I'm 29 weeks now, so I guess the baby is running out of room for turning, but he/she isn't letting that stop him/her! I think I have a hyper-active baby on the way.

I know it probably sounds like I'm exaggerating and the movements aren't that bad, but at 20 weeks I was sitting on the sofa with my 15 inch laptop perched on my belly and the baby kicked and dislodged it!

Wow seems as though everyone has pretty much the same! Thrush is a terrible one, its so anoying but i recently got a kidney infection which i can say now is worse than piles...aparently woman are prone to thrush, water and kidney infections in pregnancy like we dont suffer enough.
I also experience really achy restless legs, and i have terrible hips...sooo painful, im near the end now im 40 plus 5 days over now, and got the worst bit (labour)coming next, but then fingers crossed all the aches will dissapear!...wishful thinking i know ha ha.

I had a very kicky baby too Trillian42. He kicked the scan thing out of the sonographer's hand at 20 weeks!

Mine was sore hips in bed. Go to sleep on left side. Wake up with agony in left hip. Have to do a QEII cruise ship manoeuvre to get onto right side. Go to sleep. Wake up with agony in right hip. Haul self out of bed to go to toilet. Go back to bed and repeat approx 170000 times in one night.

I'd forgotten that till now!

Report
bagelmonster · 17/03/2010 16:51

Ooh, Shaz10 I'm with you on the hip thing. Mine are real agony at night, I just spend the whole night turning over with the pain. And now to add to it my ribs hurt too, ouch!!
