Pregnancy

A bit emotional for a silly reason! Tell me your stories!

I'm pregnant with my first baby and have been making preparations for their arrival. Part of that was having to get a bigger car because my car has a tiny boot which is no good for a buggy! So we sold it tonight... I loved that little car... Sad Had it 5 years and planned to keep it forever. I watched the buyer drive it away (I may have waved lol) and then when he was out of sight I burst into tears! Sad

How silly! It's just a car. Damn hormones! Grin

What silly things have you got a bit emotional over whilst pregnant? Please tell me I'm not alone!

DH has banned me from watching nature programmes because I sobbed and wailed (no exaggerating, there was snot and blotching) over the penguins in Planet Earth 2. To be fair, I was inconsolable. It wasn't pretty.

I did exactly that before I was even pregnant. We knew we needed to change it if we were going to start a family for similar reasons. OH couldn't get his head around it.

DH sat on my tissue box. I was in bed with a horrible cold and no medicine because pregnancy. I had a box of tissues beside me which felt like my current best friend in the world. He came home from work, sat on my tissue box and I burst into tears because the tissue box was squashed.

Love this thread!
I had an absolute meltdown whilst doing housework when the John Lewis Xmas ad came on for the first time a couple of years ago. Cried my eyes out for quite some time!

Pregnant with DD2, so we have bought a new tandem pram. I cried when we sold the old one.

Well I did'nt get emotional over the cow print fleecy snowsuit monstrosity that I saw when I was pregnant.

I just had a good taste bypass and bought it, as soon as I gave birth normal service was resumed and I could see how hideous it was so I gave it away.

It was truly awful and I can only blame the hormones.

I had bought DD a jellycat rabbit whilst I was pregnant, it was the first thing we got for her.
We went out for the evening, when we came back thedog had said bunny in its mouth, covered in slobber and grass.
I cried and cried, proper hiccupy sobs Hmm
I also cried when OH tricked me at Christmas by putting these hideous primark boots in a box of the boots I had wanted, I threw the primark boot at him, wailing "but I don't even like them !! "
I am not usually so ungrateful Shock but who does that to a heavily pregnant DP blaming the pregnancy hormones. The boots I wanted were in the back of his car after all.

Thanks for your stories Smile I'm now laughing through my 'car grief' tears as I read them.

jojo you mentioning the John Lewis adverts prompted me to go watch the Month the Penguin one. I love that advert and thought 'that'll cheer me up'. Nope! I just cried from start to finish because Monty was sad and then because he was happy!! Haha 🙈🐧

I keep crying because I don't like things. Like toddlers do. DH brought me a drink in the wrong type of mug - cried, cried because I was tired on moving day, cried because I didn't want my dinner, cried because I had to wash my hair. I mean for god's sake Grin I'm not usually such a whiny brat!

Loving this thread!

I was happy to sell my car as I got a brand new car but weirdly enough cried when hubby sold his car and bought a 16 year old car! He previously had a lovely, 9 month old car and he loved it! I was upset at "everything your giving up for us" and cried for longer than was normal! Blush

I'm now 8 months pregnant and cry EVERY single time the Tesco Xmas add comes on! Just thinking about it chokes me up! Blush

Got to love hormones!

When I was pregnant I cried because I tried to say "it's all one big joke to you" to DH and it came out as "big one joke". No idea why I cried but it still makes my eyes prickle.

Oh god, cried writing a message in a colleague's birthday card, cried because I burnt my toast, cried because someone else on the tube was reading a book that I had read years before and I remembered it was a sad book! Confused

This is all just TODAY....

Something just came back to me! I was maybe 6 weeks pregnant and my DH had just come home one lunchtime and found me in the kitchen, woefully staring out the window. When he asked what was wrong I threw my arms round him and sobbed into his chest "I want some ice cream but we have none! 😭" He softly asked why I didn't go buy some (there's a corner shop and an ice cream van about 5 mins walk from our house) and I sobbed back "I didn't think of that! 😭"

🙈

I was reduced to floods of tears by Johnny Matthis' 'When a Child is Born' playing in the doctors waiting room when heavily pregnant with DC2. Am normally almost abnormally unemotional.

I burst out crying when DP was messing about in the kitchen and debagged me whilst I was doing the washing up. Because I was embarrassed to be half naked in front of the cat Blush

So today alone i have cried because I took a picture of my husband and daughter dancing and it looked magical, just burst out crying during said dancing lesson.
Cried because the women put milk in my tea in the coffee shop
Cried because before dancing lesson my normal hot chocolate had little marshmallows and not big ones

Cried because the shop was out of shock of what I wanted.

Cried when my daughter went to sleep.

Cried that husband had changed the bed sheets.

I have just finished crying because I'm tired and can't sleep.

Hoping for a better day tomorrow

I cried because boyfriend made a stir fry that was slightly too spicy. Get prepared to cry even more when your baby arrives because you're so in love with them.

Congratulations!

I cried for my car and I wasn't even pregnant Blush
When I was pg, H went out with his bro to a mutual friends house. He was gone for 2 hours, I cried the whole time in case he got run over, died on the way home and I'd have to bring up the baby on my own. Mutual friends house is about 10 houses away from mine.

OP that's not a silly thing at all. I'm in the same position and my new, larger car is arriving this weekend and I'm gutted to be saying goodbye to my little banger which has served me well this past 4 years.

When I was pregnant (LO is almost 6 weeks now), I cried for almost two hours as my favourite takeaway was closed and I literally couldn't imagine eating anything else.
