Here we go, down the slippery slope of parenthood. Slippery thanks to the poos, wees, leaky boobs and goodness knows what else :o :o

We'll be here to hold each other's virtual hands through the tough nights and delightful days, and to laugh at each other's stories of comedy nappy changes Hmm, and the fear (or not?) of getting back in the saddle, and coating some cervixes just for the fun of it again!! :o

OMG salt just read your post on last thread - sure it's not possible, but very glad MW is on her way over to inspect your fandangle!! Born Again Virgin?? Shock

travispickles · 08/02/2011 13:07

Hi all.
Well HV just been and Saskia is in 75 centile for weight gain... 8.4at birth now 8.10 at 11 days, so my greedy girl doing OK on breast. Feel like telling bloody MWs at hospital that contrry to their beliefs, you can mix feed for first three days without causing a catastrophe on the milk front.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 08/02/2011 13:17

Good work travis - this little pickle's being weighed tomorrow, so will let you know. He started off waaaaaaaaay off the chart though, so won't be terribly surprised if he's still dropped in weight.

I had a real hitler of a MW with my first DD - reduced me to tears in the hospital. This time round they were fandabbydozy :)

LadyBuzz · 08/02/2011 13:38

bubba I think Lachlan must have benn giving Kali tips, she would not go down last night for love nor money.

She also will not be put down during the day, she is like a flaming limpet arghhhh!

DS2 is full of cold and very clingy and whingy, I might move out Confused

Huge congratulations to crystyl

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 08/02/2011 15:23

I'll move out with you LadyB - girls were looney last night and the limpet bug has hit here daytime too.

I'll have a word with Lachlan and make sure he doesn't text Kali with his naughty tips any more!!

OP posts:
Fuzzywood · 08/02/2011 15:33

Can I move with you wherever you're going. Evan can't make his mind up if he's hungry or not and DD just wants cuddles all the time. Fortunately my mum is still here to help, not sure what I'll do next week!
Congrats Crysty

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 08/02/2011 15:56

You'd have thought we'd have it easier having done it all before??!! :o Hmm :o

OP posts:
saltnvinigarcrips · 08/02/2011 16:31

Well good news is that I am not going to have my cherry popped again :) I do in fact still have my hole which my mw very much enjoyed proving to me by prodding a finger up there! My stitches have dissolved and all is well although still very achey round there. Also DS (tee hee, first time i've written that 'DS') has put on loads of weight. Started off at 3.23 and then went down to 2.89 and now he is 3.45 so has done better than average so i'm very pleased with my boobies (even reluctant bad right booby) and feeling more confident by the day. I was such a nervous wreck at the beginning hence why i've only just reappeared on here.

Think I might nap. Today is last day of DH paternity :(

ZippyPippy · 08/02/2011 17:08

Oh wow, congrats Travis , Cyber , Rock , Running , Cupcakes, Salt and crysty SO exciting to see all the arrivals coming in.

Things are crazy here, really nothing prepares you for the shock of having a new baby does it!? Am really struggling with the sleep deprivation, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Finding the breast feeding really hard too, just the shear demand of it all the time and have got sore nipples.

He's worth every minute though - just smell their heads at 4am when you could cry you're so tired and it reminds you Grin

CupcakesHay · 08/02/2011 18:14

Hello all! WOW - read posts - soooooo pleased that crysty and xavier are here safely! Amazing name! Although my dad aid not good on getting picked alphabetically first! Grin

God - shattered! BUT SO HAPPY.

Wedding anniversary today - 8 years - and DH cried (i panicked he was stressed) but actually he cried as he was so happy... so then i cried.. and then Jesse cried (nappy needed changing!Grin)

M/W visited - i needed to "air dry" my scar and take a bath twice a day - really... when will i get time for that???? However, Jesse is weighing in well, and cracked b-fing... and my milk came in!

Love the new thread - and love the fact i'm not the only one getting weed on and pooed on. DH has always had bad luck with poo and smells - but is changing nappies just covering his nose with his jumper!

Got a call about Jesse's cleft lip - and have appt for 26thMay - but should be simple.

Have read everyone post - although only recent ones. Reassuring to read that the piles have gone salt! Not too clever about the hole or the DH and the paternity leave. Must admit dreading D going on the 23rd already! But by then my c-section might stop hurting- and yes paracetomal - keep forgetting. Also keep forgetting to drink and eat regularly!

Agree 100% about them being worth it zippy

Ok - going to post a picture or two!

Oh - and one last thing - sorry but i have to bow down and salute you crysty as a single mum - WOW - amazing how you are doing it. Because i ahve every espect - and same for you with more than 1 kid - MY GOD. I have fab support and i'm still exhausted. GrinGrinGrin

Oh - and my sleepsuits are HUGE too! And those poppers - well confusing!

CupcakesHay · 08/02/2011 18:43

Photos on my profile!

travispickles · 08/02/2011 18:45

Gorgeous pics Cupcakes - he is a wee elf. What did he weigh?
Have put a few on of Saskia I think, not sure if my technological know-how up to it!
Just slept 3 hours, so will be equipped for another night without sleep!

LadyBuzz · 08/02/2011 19:05

cupcake he is lush Grin
Great to air dry the scar, i fanned mine with a mat pad (clean of course) if you find it getting a bit damp or oozy, pop another mat pad or bit of gauze against it, it helps keep it dry with helps against infection.

travis your profile is set to private I think, it won't let me in!

Have had my first outing with my mahoosive double buggy - i love it!

bubba spa weekend?? when do we go?? Grin

RockLover · 08/02/2011 19:22

Having a few problems over in my camp....with me, not gorgeous George :).

I have developed chronic back pain from lying in one position too long when bed bound from the c-section. Can't sleep at all and as a result I'm alternately panicky or teary and currently living on a different planet!

DP is being fantastic and is currently doing absolutely everything for me and George, his sister has come to stay for a few days and is helping to look after DD because I have just collapsed into the world's worst Mummy!

George has so far refused to latch on so we are formula feeding and I am expressing as my milk comes in so he can have something from me.

Congrats all those who are coping so well, I feel rather useless in comparison, but 3 days with barely an hour or 2 sleep has driven me round the twist.

ThreeBubbasAndManyBumps · 08/02/2011 20:04

Don't beat yourself up rock - you weren't even 100% before gorgeous George came and decided to knacker you out that little bit more!!

Glad your mw could play with your hole salt Hmm :o Hmm!! MW's coming tomorrow - hopefully in the morning - we may venture to school in the afternoon to show him off to the teachers, the lovely office ladies and anyone else who we see!! Pete sent us a nice card saying Lachlan should be a scrum half!! Shock :o

Love the pics of Jubbly Jesse cupcakes

Yes LadyB! Great idea - I'll meet you there!! :) [wishful thinking emoticon].

Lovely Lachlan had his first bath tonight - was very, very chilled and loved every minute of it.

You're right zippy - smelling them all cosy and warm makes up for all their naughtinesses [in love all over again emoticon] :o :o

Fuzzywood · 08/02/2011 20:21

Oh Travis and Cupcakes they're both gorgeous.
Rock sending you a big hug. Try not to be hard on yourself. It's great your DP and family are helping out, that's what they're there for! Hope you start to feel better soon.
Think I might have a nap while the little man us asleep, it's been a tough day today, DD has been kicking off big style this afternoon.

Saskia is now lying in her moses basket but will start whingeing anysecond now as she doesn't like it at all. To be fair we have her downstairs with us all day so she is used to noise and people and warmth and I think the basket is a bit lonely and cold. Any suggestions??

saltnvinigarcrips · 08/02/2011 23:09

jjkm have they given you an idea of when you can get them home? It must be so frustrating and heartbreaking for you and DP so heart goes out to you.

Cupcakes and travis bubba gorgeous pictures of your los. cupcakes he is so blonde and scrumptious. bubba he has very pinchable and kissable cheeks doesn't he! travis she is so dark and lush. All So cute. I need to put some pictures up but need to get them off my phone first and not massively technical Hmm.
I don't drive bubba so won't be venturing on the tube with Henry for a little while so won't be going into school until probably inset day next term unfortunatley :( Desperate to show him off though having lots of visitors next week. Plus not sure I want to go in when smelly children there... Hmm although would like to show him off to my tutor group.

Well we have had a nice day today and he seems to enjoy his little baths. Might have something to do with all the baths I took during pregnancy. Anyway he is sound asleep now so I don't know why i'm not in bed ...Confused
