Dandy Hope you didn't have to wait too long in a and e.
Momino thanks for the new thread. I don't mind where we are as long as I don't lose you all!!
30 degrees here today again Smile. We are off on our first adventure in the camper tomorrow 3 nights away with us and DHs dad. Going to Hartbeespoort<a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.tourismnorthwest.co.za/about/images/icon_hartbeespoortdam2.jpg&imgrefurl=www.tourismnorthwest.co.za/about/icons.html&h=244&w=538&sz=35&tbnid=Q3Q6bLuVu2J47M:&tbnh=60&tbnw=132&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dhartbeespoort%2Bdam&zoom=1&q=hartbeespoort+dam&usg=__cr4veCEvjzmGPGzOFyO42wa65dA=&sa=X&ei=II6dTMjyOsX7lwe4senuAg&ved=0CDIQ9QEwBA" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">dam and then Pilansburg Game reserve to see some lions, elephants, rhinos and stuff Grin.

muddleddaizy · 25/09/2010 07:27

Thank you Momino for the new thread!

Febes enjoy your travels. Love the photos on fb. I feel very Envy, my in laws live in Hartbeespoort - its a lovely area.

Been meaning to post for ages - as usual! Life just seems so busy at the moment. Ds1 is now potty trained - thank goodness! Ds2 is just so busy. He gets into so much mischief just when you thought you'd put everything away he finds something else that he shouldn't!

Running congrats on your pregnancy

Smokey enjoy your mat leave!

Gert congrats on the imminent arrival of dd2!

Dandy hope you're feeling better today and didnt have to spend too long in a&e.

After being so adamant about not wanting anymore children dh has agreed to talk about it. Smile, but now I'm not sure I want another child Confused. I'm soooo tired at the moment, both the dc aren't sleeping very well, guess that doesn't help!

I've been meaning to say thank you for whoever recommended Aveeno cream in one of the earlier threads - it's great. Saved me going to the dr on many occasion!

A big hello to everyone else [muddled waves wildly!!]

smokeybacon · 25/09/2010 07:49

momi thanks for the new thread

dandy hope you got seen quickly and are now on the road to recovery. Fri night in A&E did not sound fun. And am intrigued by your pram thread and your reasons for a new one. Do tell us more ( or I have I missed something already?)

pula how is DD. Your post brought a little (probably a bit hormonal) tear to my eye. Poor thing. Hope the school stay on top of it.

muddle good to see you.

ses beautiful kitchen (FB pics!!). YOu must be really pleased.

SOrry not to NC but have now lost track of everything from the last thread.

So, the CC has gone reasonably well with R, despite his puking up on Wednesday night. He seems to have got the message. The last 2 nights I have heard him stir, give a little cry and then go back to sleep. I just need to learn to sleep better myself now. Have had the two worst nights ever, coinciding with R improving.

Re bump pic. I am having a professional one done on Tuesday so I PROMISE that I will put it somewhere for your inspection when I get it. I have grown hugely in the last week - probably explains the not sleeping. Can you believe that I have only 7 weeks to go????? I can't!

runningmonkey · 25/09/2010 08:16

Hello just bookmarking. Thanks for the new thread momi

dandy hope you are ok x

Hello all, will be back later for proper catch up.

smokeybacon · 25/09/2010 11:43

febes I'm sorry I completely missed your post! Your travels sounds so wonderful. Such a shame I am up duff or we would have be joining you in SA in about 3 weeks time and your pics have made me a bit Sad that we prob won't make it there now.

llareggub · 25/09/2010 16:25

Afternoon all.

Just bookmarking here so I don't lose track, though want to shout get better to Dandy.

See you all later.

FiByTheIcySea · 25/09/2010 18:17

hope to make it back on later x

Reggiee · 25/09/2010 19:54

Hi all. Long time no speak. I always lurk though - just seem to get distracted before managing to post [attention span of a gnat].

Thanks for the new thread momi. I reckon this will last at least to 2011. Shall I be first to wish everyone a happy Christmas and all the best for the new year....
How is dd enjoying school. I've just been to two open days this week for the application for dd to start next September. Am confused but in a good way.

Dandy you're back Grin! But Sad about A&E. How are you? Hope it's not an infection that has spread up the urinary track to the kidneys . I had that once and it was miles more painful that labour .

Gert do come back to tell us your news. And congratulations!!

Febes 30 degrees Envy. Our central heating has just gone on today, straight up to full blast. And going on safari - double Envy. Looking forward to hearing about the stuff you spot Grin.

Hi muddled. Well done ds1 on potty training. Hope it wasn't a painful experience for you all. Really wish ds was potty trained as we always have huge fights to change his bum. There is obviously far too much going on for him to stop for the 5 seconds .... sigh... No chance though for another couple of years if dd is anything to go by.
Hope you get a decent night's sleep tonight. That is the one benefit in our house to the nights drawing in.

Smokey & WEEKS [shoock]. (Or even 7 WEEKS Shock Obviously too much in shock at the passing of time to be able to type properly).

Hi running. Hope you're doing well. How is the morning sickness?

Llare I was nodding whilst reading your post about Big Brother. I watched the first four or five series' religiously, then dipped in to them after dd was born, but always made sure I watched the opening night. Somehow I think it will be back at some point in the future.

Fi hope to see you later. How's your dad doing?

Tum how;s your bum bruise? Has it turned alovely shade of purple/yellow? I'm hoping it is not turning abscess-y.

Erm...who've I missed? Just got back from bringing in my Tesco shop and dh is now cooking tea. However he is not cooking fish pie as I instructed as he doesn't know the recipe and I am refusing to tell him (I talked him through it last time!). I think we're going to get either his staple pasta 'n' sauce or pie 'n' mash.

Pula how was dd at school on Thurs and Fri? I would have been really upset by it.
How is your niece? Are you broody again {grin]

Belgina Did your coat arrive? No advice re clingy kiddies. Other than sympathies. I crave my own space so found that bit quite hard. Ds was particularly clingy when he was teething.

Ses your kitchen looks fab! Hope you are really pleased with it. I long for a big kitchen Envy.

Hi anyone I've forgotten (and sorry).

All fine here. Working hard. Playing not hard as I'm always too tired. Still awaiting date for my operation which means I am reluctant to arrange anything fun. Although I am still doing some fun stuff. Recently back from Centre Parcs though with the extended family whcih was good fun. And I have a glass of wine in my hand so it can't all be too bad Smile. Ds lovely. But I would say that [bias emoticon].

evening :)

dandy i'm not surprised you were miserable last night it sounds particularly grotty. sorry you're poorly but really glad you've not got kidney probs. i had a kidney infection once and i agree reggie it was awfully painful.
i'm sneaking on (my phone) while dh & I gather all the various documents together so we can organise getting the certified copies we need for our NS application. Dh always gets so grumpy doing this kind of stuff it's a nightmare! he's a typical man.. asks me what they want then doesn't listen to my answer and then gets narky with me about it! Arrrgggghhh Angry we're aiming to send the application off to NS before the 30th Sept. then our twiddling thumbs waiting starts..
mydadis on anti biotics again as he got another chest infection but is ok on the whole.. mum and dad are slowly getting used to him now being in permanent residential care. mum is being a slight major pita but i won't bore you all with the details on that!

chest infection and

FiByTheIcySea · 25/09/2010 22:13

oops phone doing weird stuff! sorry!

belgina · 26/09/2010 23:01

Thanks for lovely new thread Momi

Just bookmarking. Had a quick skim but due to go onto an early tomorrow, so better just head off to bed. (+ I'm on call so fingers xed that I don't get called Hmm)

momino · 27/09/2010 14:04

Reggiee, mammoth, impressive NC post! so glad to see you. hope you get news on your operation soon.

Dandy, glad to hear you're well and hope that you get a diagnosis soon to put your mind at rest and find a remedy. can't imagine what it was like for you in A&E.

Ses, love your new kitchen! Are you making like Nigella and baking/cooking all sorts of lovely things? Grin

Fi, good luck with the NS Application. sounds like you're on track. YOu'll be so relieved when it's finished. Hope your parents are ok and your dad's chest infection clears.
Febes, great to see you and hear about your travels. I'm very Envy as well.

Belgina, did you get called last night?

H sleeping, dd2 on my lap craving attention. she seems a bit lost without dd1 who's at school but I'm trying to make up for it with lots of cuddles and things to do. on that note, I've got to go find some Things to Do!

Hope everyone is well.

Quick hello from me!

Momino - thank you for the lovely new thread.
Cocktail anyone? :)

Dandy - not suprised you feel ranty! I'm v impressed with your regular exercise and weight loss. It's what I need to do but I always seem to find some excuse Blush
Hope your BP comes down and they get to the bottom of your current problems with a nice simple straight forward solution.

Belgina - hope you didn't get called out?

Fi - sounds like you have lots going on! Good luck with NS application and hope your Dad's ABs are doing the trick and your mum calms down!

Reggiee - hello!! Glad you enjoyed Center Parcs. Hope you get that op sorted soon.

Hello Llare, Grumpy, Tummum, Smokey, Muddled and anyone else I've missed!
Thanks for all the lovely comments about the kitchen. It is a lovely space and DS loves going round it on his trike which makes it so much easier for me to get stuff done!

FiByTheIcySea · 27/09/2010 23:54

hello! grumpy lovely to see you :)

wow dandy i'm really impressed with your running! i haven't kept to my running plan in sept and i'm now way behind where i should be wks wise but I did go for a run this am after dropping DS to school it was supposed to be a non stop 25min one but i ended up doing 2 x 10mins as i was struggling after not running for 2wks Blush I hope they figure out what's going on with your BP soon and you don't get poked and prodded too much..

dandy hope they get to the bottom of your BP soon. Not surprised you feel a bit ranty, but well done on the running, weight loss etc. And bloody well done on the writing too. Apart from the BP sounds like things have taken a good turn in the dandy household? And a fab hol to look forward to aswell.

Had the bump pics done today. I hate being in front of the camera but I really wanted some nice ones of the bump as it is the last time (definately) that I will be pg and it is a bit special that its twins. I'll be able to see them next week.

runningmonkey · 28/09/2010 20:01

dandy well done on your running and glad you are enjoying it. I find that's half the battle with exercise with me. Your trip sounds Amazing (capital intentional!). Also, hope the buggy works out. I had lunch with a friend on Mon who just bought the same one from Mothercare and it looks nice - a bit more sturdy than my non-sport version. Nice.

ses I am v Envy of your kitchen, it is gorgeous. Mine is postage-stamp sized!

Fi Well done on getting all the paperwork done. Your comment about your DH made me :) as mine does exactly the same kind of thing. Men!

Febes sorry didn't acknowledge your post before, veyr remiss. I am claiming extreme jealousy over the pic of your campervan :) It looks fab - showed it to DH and he wants to see the interior . Makes me miss ours. I hope you have a fabulous trip.

Hope your on call was quiet belg. Your fb about shoes on hands made me laugh - I bought a some wellies on Monday and she spent most of this morning walking around arms out zombie-style with them on her hands!

Thinking of you this week Gert do let us know how it goes if you get a chance.

momi hope that DD2 is getting a bit more used to being the oldest while DD1 is at school. Meant to say, your DH's birthday tea sounded gorgeous. I was jealous!

Hello to everyone else I've forgotten.

Sorry to whinge again but am feeling sooooo pants. I had truly forgotten how rubbish this first bit is and last time I didn't have a lively 16mo to look after. Am trying to think that at least there are lots of good pregnancy hormones kicking around in my system and am looking forward to my scan which is at the end of Oct.

Also, while I remember, has anyone heard from flippin recently? I am heading to Essex next week and it made me think of her and wonder how she is getting on with the house move and everything. Hope she is ok.

Got to go and plan some lessons for this week - have been watching the 'classroom experiment' programme on BBC2 and laughing.. most of the innovative methods he introduced are pretty much the norm in my school and have been for at least 5 years Hmm

essenceofSES · 28/09/2010 22:49

Hello running - good to hear from you. Sorry you're finding these early weeks tough but just remember that wonderful glowing 2nd trimester is looming! Exciting about your scan next week!
You're right about flip - last I knew she was about to move. Hope all's gone smoothly and we get an update soon!

Gert - sorry I thought "wow, congratulations!" and "hope all goes well" but didn't type it Blush Thinking of you and looking forward to hearing your news soon.

Dandy - holiday sounds great!

Smokey - hope we get to see some of those bump photos!

Hello momino, Fi, Grumpy, Febes and anyone else around :)

ttc - I don't think this month will be the month (again! Grr!) as DH briefly dislocated his knee cap Sunday afternoon and is in quite a bit of pain. He's had knee surgery before and is worried he may be headed that way again. Will make GOFing quite uncomfortable for him and/or we'll have to be a bit more creative Grin
On the upside though, it's meant we've been able to have some further frank discussions about ttc and DH's hesitations. It is purely financial related which I find hard as we do have a decent income between the two of us. I know he is v traditional though and wants to be able to provide for the family without my income.
Anyway, I've put a proposal to him that I increase my hours at work to 4.5 days from 4 days. I'd still have all day Wednesday off but would work all day Tuesday instead of just the morning and I'd still do Saturday mornings.
I'd rather not but it would make us £100 a week better off (taking into account the extrea nursery fees) and I've told DH that I'll do it if it means ttc now without hesitation. He's said to talk to my boss and ask the question!
Just hope DH's knee doesn't get in the way and that my boss says yes!

Also wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this thread I started earlier this evening?

omnomnomtom · 29/09/2010 21:30

hellooooooo all!

Thank-you for all the lovely birthday messages on FB. I was in Italy for my birthday and it was marvellous Grin

haven't been on for weeks so will try and catch up a bit

omnomnomtom · 29/09/2010 22:23

Right had a catch up, there wasn't as much as I'd thought there would be, it's been a bit quiet hasn't it?

Congrats to Gert2a and running
Running have you joined an antenatal thread? - I got a BFP and am due in May I think
Ses hope that your boss says 'yes' (or that DH reconsiders and agrees to ttc without you working more)

llareggub · 29/09/2010 22:35

Oooooh! Congrats! Another BFP. Well done!

Quick post from me. I went OUT after work for drinks with our very own Tummum who looked AMAZING. Very sophisticated. We (or at least I) had a lovely time and a good chat.

Dandy how are things? I hope you are feeling better and are getting to the bottom of things. I am very envious of your trip.

momino · 29/09/2010 23:11

hi all.
Just off to bed soon.
good to see everyone. omnom, hurrah! Grin great news on the bfp and hopeyou're feeling well.

ses, good luck with all your decisions (job, ttc, BF). About the thread you started, sounds like there was a lot of good advice for you - I've got nothing valuable to add!

running, hopeyou're feeling better soon. I was thinking about flip as well. hope all is well with her and the move.

Dandy, very impressed on the running! I can only get out once a week, sometimes 2x if I'm lucky. I don't feel it's enough. how are you feeling today? hope better.

smokey, bump pics, can't wait!

llare, how fun to have gone out for drinks with tummum, hope you had a great time.

Me, I had a catch up of emotion today. Dropped H and dd2 at nursery this morning then took dd1 to school. dd1 went into the classroom, signed herself in, put her bookbag in the right place by herself - it was the first time she did these things on her own while I stood back with the other parent. usually she holds my hand tightly. then she went into the classroom by herself without me having to hand her over to a teacher.

then, i started crying Blush as I was so happy and proud that she had this confidence yet a bit Sad that she's growing up. they were the tears I should have shed on her first day but didn't arrive until today for some reason. so, feeling a bit emotional. but at least it's all positive Smile.

speaking of school, pula, how's dd getting on? hope things are better.
