Good morning I missed yesterday because I had a friend over all day. A fab day was had, with a bracing walk in the woods with the dog adn then home for apple pie and coffee

Anyway, have my list for today, with all my hotspots and 2 minute rescues. Also need to do the weekly grocery shop today adn go to the petshop for dogfood.

Don't need to do the mission - Dh and I don't have that many clothes so our wardrobe is tidy all the time.
Could do the dc's wardrobe though

Good Morning

Thanks for the thread EHM and morning. Morning to scatty and saga . Hope dd's ear is better today.

I haven't done much flying for the last two days.
Mum has gone, and I was enjoying the freedom of life without her again. ( meeting friends/catching up on desparate housewives)

Morning Hippi your yesterday sounds idyll too ( much nicer than mine actually Tee Hee)
I'll follow your inspirational lead and get a move on today too though my wardrobe does need decluttering of all my dh's 10 year old t-shirts.

Do you think it is reasonable to throw them out while he is at work ??.

LavenderTea · 26/11/2008 08:23

Argh did I say that or think that about Dh's t shirts...??

Can I ask ladies - I have read about the fly lady.

I am just comming out of a bout of mild depression (I do self help) but one of things that really gets me is I 'let the house go' and I am normally very house proud but - I have a big back log of jobs to do and plan to start today.

Do you ladies use this to keep you motivated and on top of stuff, as I normally don't need any sort of system I just 'do'. When I am down I spend a lot of time worrying about housework (i know irrational) and when I am good I realy enoy doing it?

Its like i have a very strange relationship with my housework?

Morning all! Great threads these ...

May I please join you for two or three days?

I have flown in the past - am going to start again (consistently) in January when we stop travelling - but in the meantime my house is a wreck and today I am unexpectedly at home with dd5 who has a bad cold so I need to:

  1. tidy master bedroom
  2. gather laundry and odd socks from their hiding places and sort and wash, dry and iron (3 loads per day for 3 days)
  3. prepare office laundry to be collected
  4. quick tidy bathroom and kitchen (they are messy not dirty)
  5. proper tidy and clean of sitting room
  6. clean out guinea pigs
  7. tidy and sort 'craft' cupboard - groan

Need akickupthebum some motivation

[Hello Hippi - how is yr walking injury? - better I hope]

morning all
Sorry I've not been around for while, I've had a lot going on, although I have managed to keep the house looking ok.

I have ds1 at home today as he has a high temperature and tummy ache, he won't eat and is just laying on the sofa watching cbeebies, Ds2 is working his way through the punnet of grapes (still, better than chocolate)

morning scatty hippi and Lavender you were new comers last time i checked in, now you seem to be better than me lavender of course you can get rid of dh's old clothes whist he is at work (he won't even notice)
mad sorry you have another migraine, I too feel poorly today (not a migraine thankfully) I have a headache and feel dizzy and pains in my tummy
EHM I saw the working mums flying thread but since I don't work I came on here and I feel I know you guys
saga hope dd's earache clears up soon

So today I will
get boys dressed
take ds1 to mums and ds2 swimming
Go to friends with ds2 after swimming for coffee
catch up on this weeks missions
pack for holiday on Friday
BBL hope you all have a good day

Hi Counting - long time no see

My walking injury is still painful. Am waiting to be referred to footspecialist at hospital to have an insole specially made. Am stuck in a viscious cycly - foot won't heal because I am overweight, can't exercise too much because foot is sore, ad infinitum!
But gentle walk in the woods is fine. And have taken up going for a weekly swim with a friend.

Lavender - roffle at your thoughts about your dh's shirts
Throw the worst ones out if he never wears them...
Or do waht I do - bury them at the bottom of the laundry basket and if he does not notice them missing within a month they get thrown out.

Right, better get going on my list, will be back later!

hippipotami · 26/11/2008 09:31

Hello and welcome bigbaubleeyes and countingthegreyhairs

I too suffer from depression and coming on here really helps me keep motivated when i'm down, as like you my housework is the 1st thing to suffer, fly lady also gives you lots of helpful tips, you should really chat to mad she is very good at explaining and helping others.

I found fly, as I too suffer from depression, thankfully under control after a fantastic cource of CBT. I found housework a real bind, when I was first depressed I become too house proud, then the opp happened. DH was great and paid for a cleaner to come in and bottom the place and then I started to Fly, have been doing it ever since.

I too am swimming today - with both boys
Back for lunch
Preschool for DS1
Nap for DS2 and me poss
Swimming things in wash
Whats for dinner
Sort out shopping list

Or some I am not abnormal tiigger32 thanks for sharing this with me - I get into such as tiz about it all. I think I will be using this does this happen every morning on MN?

Right here goes:

Fold and sort the big pile of ironing off spare bed.
Hoover and dust spare room
Make up bed in spare room

Sort through toys in DS room
Clean shelves as i go
Sort though clothes
Pack old clothes and toys for storage

Clean bathroom
Put stain remover on drips on stairs

If I can do these three rooms and look after DS - food toys and activties today I will be made. My reward will be to go to ikea to buy more storage baskets for living room. which I will tackle (rugby style) tomorrow.

hi

I did some flying under a previous name. I just had ds2 who is 1 month now and need to get some order back.

so I will be joining again if that is ok?

( a little about me... I have 2 ds's (2.5 and 1 month) we live with DH and I am a SAHM. I am one of those people who gets really stressed if my house isn't tip top as I feel it helps keep my head in the right place. Because of this I usually do far more than necessary so I guess I am using Fly to make sure I don't over do it IYSWIM - does that make any sense?)

turned over a new leaf today - going to stop moaning and just get on with it!

done
packed lunch for DH
breakfasts
dressed ds1
hoovered and mopped downstairs
laundry on
put yesterday's laundry away
dishwasher emptied and on

to do
mission
walk dog

Morning everyone.

Thanks for the thread EMH.

Feeling rubbish, dd is just not sleeping, think she is teething, so I am not going to do too much today. Most of what I am planning to do is passed over from yesterday.

Ironing
Stockings
Hoover downstairs
Hotspots
Dinner
Some wrapping tonight.

If I manage all that I will be very pleased.

Back later.

Bigbaubleeyes Hi! I know how you feel Ive had depression in the past and I'm currently being treated for PND. If the house is a state it makes me worse. This thread has definately helped over last last couple of months. I rarely do everything on my list but if I didnt have a list I would do nothing......sad but true. Hope it works for you .
