Good morning all

I started this thread nice and early as I read HN post from last night and wanted to say smehing warm and supportive, but am rubbish at it, so I'll just send good wishes that you got a decent nights sleep last night, and a gentle reminder that you are not rubbish at anything......you put me to shame with your positive attitude in the face of adversity

Bianca - Are you lurking at all? We are missing you!

Tort -I missed your post last night, too. I hope youget to se your dad soon.It is a shame he can't stay for a day o two when he comes.

Bewilderbeast You seem to be having the same financial problems as lots of us.

I've got a busy day today.....toddler group, parents visiting, then we are going to the circus this afternoon. I also need to find something I can feed everyone that requires no effort at all
My menu plan has fallen by the wayside this week, as we are living out of thefreezer due to lack of food budget,so it may be an interesting concoction tonight.

I'm going to go and have ashower as I'm up early and all the dc are still asleep....

Hi Jas

Ds is sitting quietly with a cup of milk so I'll say another quick hello before I go and get the packed lunches made

I've been working loads lately and also been taking a bit of a MN break (didn't last long - too addicted )

Haven't lurked so have no idea what everyone has been up to - hope you're all OK?

Big events for me over the past week are
~managed to get through my 40min dentist appt (slight panic before hand but fine once in the chair - broken tooth is finally whole again!)
~finally reached my 3 stone weight loss target am now 11st 5
~dd has been lovely since our awful time with the community police etc
~dh and I are struggling

I have a day out planned today with a good friend so need to get my act together as I need to leave the house in good time

I will try to come back on sometime before the day is out.

Morning

Bianca Yey...you are back

Jas oooh you do have a busy day! Enjoy the circus! My kids would be super if they knew that!

dame don't feel too bad about the lack of flying....you being fit and healthy for your baby's birth is far more important. Just do the basics if I were you.....rope someone else in to help too

Ruby I'm in....I'll be the gettaway driver, I'm a bit nifty on the old 0 to 60
Glad you and got to chat...its god to communicate when things are a bit stressful. I think the provider instinct comes out in most men when things are tight.

Well the child starvation programme is fairly stressful! They have had the odd rich tea biscuit and piece of dry bread, but they can't actually eat anything else until at least lunch time.
Will take them into town this morning and distract them I think.

I managed a run last night, no idea how far it was....will have to go back up there in the car to measure it, but I am sure it was a personal best. My knees ache a bit this morning.

Back again

Right, had quick look at yesterday as was confused by bank talk, sounds like a plan to me for unexpected bills, why does that always happen just after you've spent money that you now can't afford?

Nutsaboutchocolate hope you are feeling better today, take it easy.

Grouchy, hope you are feeling ok after yesterday too.

Hello to everyone else, that's as much as my brain will hold I'm afraid

Thank you all for being nice to me (even those that were being strict) The thing is I was doing really well and in theory, it shouldn't take that much actual hard work to get the house looking reasonable again. DH pointed out last night that someone may need to sleep on our sofa bed in the playroom at some point quite soon so I want to make sure it's tidy enough to fold it out and find the spare bedding.

I liked it when my kitchen looked like someone else's and all that really needs is piles of crap sorting and a good wipe around whilst clearing surfaces.
My hall was the first thing I tidied and lasted the longest but messy now as i folded the highchair for dh to take up to the loft 2wks ago and is still there, he used the pushchair and didn't fold it up or put in the car which I always do and that's been there a week and now stuff is gathering around them, why does that happen? so I can do a bit of that but need to 'encourage' DH, he'll say nag.

So,I shall set my timer for 15 and see how it goes, if I do 15 on and 15 off will that be ok?

Sorry for huge waffling, off to start.

hello all
just finished lunch and put DS to bed for his nap

been to toddler group this morning so he should have a good sleep

loads to do today

clean kitchen
sort out paperwork clogging kitchen worktops!!
ironing
clean out wardrobe
clean windows downstairs
mission

OOh yeah can I please get your opinion on something?

We are going to visit family at the end of the summer who live quite a way away and there is no room in their house for us to stay. I had a look at renting a small cottage and its looking as though it would cost around £400.00 for the week.

Anyway long story short my friend knows someone really well who lives in teh same are as our family and they have a daughter who lives in our town. They are an older couple and have offered for us to do a house swap so they can come and visit their daughter during the same week and it obviously won't cost us anything.

What do you guys think ? Would you do it? would you be scared of them trashing your house?

Is v tempting as it will save so much cash!!!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/05/2008 13:16

Hi everyone,

Gem - go for it. I would hope an older couple wouldnt trash your house

Cant get going at all today. DD1 at pre-school and DD2 in bed. I'm sat here surrounded by mess.

Might do a 15 mins then get a cuppa and watch neighbours....

Back in 15.

ok so managed to pick everything off floor in dining room, kitchen, living room and hallway. Cleaned downstairs loo too. Playroom is another matter but I expect that to get trashed again later so wont bother for now. Kitchen surfaces cleaned and washing put on airer.

Now need to go and make cup of tea
