A carrier bad of DVDs
Small bag of books
A box of kids toys
Rag bag stuff
Carrier bag of carrier bags
All sat in the boot of my car ready to be dropped off at the charity shop tomorrow.

So happy (really sad I know).

I am almost at the decluttering tipping point. Anyone else?

Today I got rid of
An old baby car seat , to the tip
A broken picture frame, to the tip
A travel cot, to donate
A bag of clothes, to charity shop
A bag of toys
I sold an old cooker we didn't use for 40 gbpSmile
I am better than I used to be, we really don't have room in our home for clutter.
I try to get rid of 30 items at the time, I get a bin bag and give myself a time to do it, it seems to work for me

A bag full of opened (a long time ago), half-used toiletries like fake-tan moisturiser, bubble bath (last bath was at least a year ago as I always have showers), old medicines etc from the bathroom cupboards.

At the start of 2016 I pledged to get rid of 'a carrier bag a day' of clutter. I'm a little behind (29 September- I've been writing it all down) but determined to catch up by 31 December.

On Friday we found out we are completing on our new house in two weeks so I am in clear out mode level 100!
So this weekend:
Kitchen cupboards decluttered and a crate of stuff taken to charity shop.
Airing cupboard sorted with 3 sets of bedding ready to go to charity shop & Spare duvets and pillows bagged up for the homeless.
Took 4 dresses to the dress agency yesterday.

Feeling quite pleased with that progress... but so much more to do in less than 2 weeks!

Ooh you have all been busy!

We've just gone through our Christmas decs and got rid of a carrier bag of them, reducing them into one (big) box. Yay!

I'd try kondoing our stuff but too much of a mess at mo to get everything of same type together.

Congratulations yogaandwine! Nothing like a deadline to motivate you.
Made the mistake of bringing down 5 bags of clothing from the lift to sort through so I've noe made myself more mess.
Sorted another bag for the charity shop though so that makes 3. Smile

I'm very impressed and would like to take inspiration from this thread if you don't mind? I've committed to decluttering 1 corner of each room per day. Not much I know but I'm struggling with the volume of it all and need to start somewhere.

Yoga - where do you take duvets etc for the homeless, is there a national charity?

We have cleared out a box of mismatched/chipped/downright horrible mugs. The next challenge will be moving the box out of the hallway...

NickNacks I'm going to steal your idea. Minimum of a bag a day.

Bobgoblin - I just keep reminding myself that it will get better. I've been totally overwhelmed for a long time and often just can't face doing anything BUT it is starting to look a teeny tiny bit better. I still wouldn't be happy with anyone just dropping in but we'll get there...

On a mission to declutter before our baby arrives in feb, in my head would like it done by Xmas but I think that might be a little unrealistic!
Today I cleared out 2 bags of books ready for the charity shop.

I like the idea of a bag a day nicknacks, might adopt that one.

This could get obsessive. I wonder if I could create an app like MyFitnessPal where you write down everything chuck to become a lighter household? Is it a winner? I'm off to sort through DPs T-shirt stack.

Glad my idea is useful! I'm sure I pinched it from someone else in the first place. Good luck!

Ooh I need to get back on the decluttering bandwagon. Was doing Marie Kondo but have slipped and lost my way a bit. I am hosting all DH's family for a boxing day meal (full works Christmas dinner) so really need to get rid of all the crap and make room for people... and only a month to do it in! I also have an exam to cram for, which is taking up most of my headspace until 7th December. Kind of need to clear a bunch of stuff out of our loft room/ office and understairs cupboard in order to make space up there for the less frequently used stuff that's cluttering up the rest of the house. The fact that I make hampers for Christmas and have homemade goodies piling up on the kitchen worktops from mid-November onwards is not helping matters Confused

Wally, that's a good point, need to get rid of the out of date medications, medicines seem to multiple in my household, just like soft toys!

A bag of clothes went to the charity shop today.

2016 was the year I swore I'd declutter. Have sent 1-2 bags to charity every couple of weeks. We also had a skip a few weeks ago. I feel lighter and happier as I continue the process!

Cleared out the shelf under the coffee table today, resulted in a carrier bag of recycling.

Cleared out the cleaning stuff, half of which I binned. I buy stuff and then read the labels and think I don't want to breathe it in, so it never gets used.

Also collated all the cables and charges. I think they've been breading. No idea what half of them relate to. I think I need to purchase a labeling machine. Sad.

Wading through paperwork at the moment which is seriously out of hand.
