There are quite a lot of football fans on MN, and also loads of football-haters. If we hide here in Dadsnet, none of the detractors will find us. But if they do, they are welcome to come here and moan.

You don’t have to be male to post here, of course. (No-one would say women can’t post in the Dadsnet section, just like no woman would EVER say men aren’t welcome on Mumsnet…)

Footy fans please sign in with

New thread for season '12-'13 is here.

BelfastBloke Sun 12-Aug-12 12:59:44

OK, I'll do a new thread for the new season.

Quite looking forward to the new season. I'm hoping that fantastic Gooner Mo Farah will be introduced at half time at the Emirates Stadium, next Saturday.

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 06-Aug-12 22:29:20

grin

DanFmDorking Mon 06-Aug-12 18:49:53

Yes, for goodness sake start a new thread for the next season.
The sooner the better.
I'm sick to death of plonkers posting so called jokes.

DanFmDorking Mon 06-Aug-12 18:49:22

I'm rather surprised GB haven't done well in the diving.
One would have thought Ashley Young would nail it.

The IOC has claimed they'll catch the Olympic drug cheats.
Actually, I'm not so sure, they're pretty fucking fast.

What's 120mm in diameter, silver and covered in dust?
The Australian National Anthem CD

These Olympics have quite inspired me.
No longer will I lay on the sofa watching Darts and Football.
Now I'm going to watch other sports as well.

ThePan Mon 06-Aug-12 15:59:01

that would be gud. New season new thread. Though right now my appetite for over-paid, prima donnas is a bit limited after seeing and hearing about Olympic athletes. iyswim.smile

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 06-Aug-12 08:24:45

Think we should start a new thread for the season? This one is nearly full.

ThePan Sun 05-Aug-12 23:01:36

I know it's heretical to say but.....I am finding so many other Olympic sports more.....interesting.shock

KenDoddsDadsDog Sun 05-Aug-12 21:32:26

It has been one of the sports I have been least interested in. Probably watched more archery than football.

ThePan Sun 05-Aug-12 15:16:49

gets out the tank-stirring stick.
<wonders if footie really is an 'Olympic' sport>

KenDoddsDadsDog Thu 26-Jul-12 08:24:53

grin

DanFmDorking Wed 25-Jul-12 21:09:19

That bloke who made a cock up in Hampden Park needs a different Korea...

ThePan Wed 25-Jul-12 14:16:13

On tank-stirring duties...

I see RvP is being tipped for OT. Well, we could do with a back up striker I suppose.

@Belfastbloke Arsenal fan? Where is the investment? Either Wenger is a scrimper or the board are. What are your hopes for this coming season? And "Hi"

BelfastBloke Mon 16-Jul-12 17:13:07

Alright, singledad? Course you are, you've got all our players.

singledadof2 Sun 15-Jul-12 23:28:37

OK now to join in this part of the forum.
1,Manchester City
2, Manchester United
3, When i got custody i my son was only 6 and his friends were United fans. So i took him to the City store and kitted him out with shirt, lamp, plate, knife, fork and spoon, duvet, rug........ and let him watch the matches with me on my lap top.
4,Looking forward to the new season.

BelfastBloke Fri 06-Jul-12 11:13:26

RvP? He was Arsenal captain, so of course he's leaving. Just following the well-worn script.

Oblomov Thu 05-Jul-12 16:09:33

AVB ? Oh God. save Me. Why Levy, why ?

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 02-Jul-12 22:05:06

Right well, Arsenal away first, Totteringham last. And we have signed Carlos Cuellar (eh?)

ThePan Sun 01-Jul-12 22:36:08

Soooo..those fixtures, KDDDD??

KenDoddsDadsDog Mon 25-Jun-12 07:01:29

I was going to ask about the fixtures and see if was allowed grin

Pan Mon 25-Jun-12 06:47:09

Still there's a few youngies coming through and two years time would be good for them. (Jones, Wilshere, Smalling foreg). Though I do wonder if Rooney is going to get any better than this.

Pan Sun 24-Jun-12 23:13:30

Was Rooney playing with weights in his pockets?

The post mortem should be restrained, surely? The England doctor would be saying 'he's doing as well as can be expected, though he is barely out of recus.'

So, KDDDD, back to those fixtures....

DanFmDorking Sun 24-Jun-12 22:36:07

Lawrenson:- "England have players who simply aren't in the game. They’ve not touched the ball for ages."
Not to worry, the Italian keeper didn't touch the ball for ages either.

Where was that guy from the Mars bar advert when England needed him?

BelfastBloke Sun 24-Jun-12 22:31:57

England a quarter-final team. Given the events coming into the tournament, they were fortunate to get that far.

But Roy could take them further in Brazil.
