£1 on tuck for ds1 at his club, he's meant to spend half on a drink and half on sweets but didn't like the drinks so spent it all on sweets. Not overly pleased with him!

I'm still in my pyjamas so apart from that no spending from me.

Babs, hope the hospital can sort out whatever needs sorting.

Thanks for the new thread. I've spent a lot of this afternoon reading money saving web articles for inspiration. Had a slight slip up/treat lunch with ds today as we were short on easy lunches so we went to subwAy £7 for the two of us - resisted buying a cake afterwards in the bakery though and we Re having a very frugal tea of braised mince, stories, mash and veg and there will be mince to freeze afterwards for.a cottage pie or similar.

Think I might keep the new taste card I got, it saved us £10 last night. I've nagged my nephew into getting one to save him and his partner money. They are young and still have a social life.

It's £30 for a year.

ds and I have been sorting our lego and building all the models today. It's getting really good now and he's acting out all his stories. Fantastic use of autumn weather. :-) glad I blew all my Tesco tokens on lego before the points got cut to 25% by the EU.-

Have had a lovely day, naming ceremony was lovely. Was great to catch up with some friends I don't get to see very often and my little speech was well received so all good.

We went onto Lyme Regis afterwards as was only 15mins or so away, dd had a fab time climbing over the rocks looking for crabs and then we had fish and chips on the beach

Spends

£7.20 fish n chips plus drink
£1.80 ice cream for dd
£2 parking
80p ish in the arcades (was all I had in my purse!)

We have also come up with a list of things to do on Sundays which so far include;

1. Going swimming to the local pool.
2. bike ride to a local village for lunch
3. a sleep over at a friends house
4. a stay at home and watch dvds all day day (this was dds suggestion )
5. A walk to a local nature spot
6. fossil hunting at Charmouth or Kilve

Umm think thats it for now but quite pleased as all of them quite cheap or free days out

I'm so fed up of not being able to get on here from my mobile. It doesn't work on the desktop or mobile sites. I thought it was my phone but other apps and websites are OK. Is anyone else having problems?
We've had a lovely autumnal weekend mainly gardening with a couple of trips to the park for DD to run off some steam. The garden renovation is working out a bit costly though as the new bed we dug out is massive and we totally underestimated the number of plants we would need - pleased I got the 10% off card for the garden centre! Has anybody got any frugal gardening tips? We are filling all the spaces with hardy perennials that will spread out and cover the ground in the hope it will be low maintenance and we won't have to spend on it too much in the future.
I did manage one frugal thing today - I made a lovely crumble with blackberries and rhubarb from the garden plus a pear that was lurking in the fridge. It was delish - the first crumble this autumn!
girlie I like your list. I was inspired by Collie's autumn list and we've made our own. It's a mixture of tasks that need doing and outings/fun things. One that has become an autumn tradition is driving down to Westonbirt arboretum in half term week to admire all the autumn trees and celebrate our wedding anniversary. It's a little bit expensive , I think it was about £20 for us both last year plus petrol but I'm really looking forward to it.
I need to have a frugal week this week. I'm still not 100% sure how much I'll be paid now I'm part time and September seems to have been the spendiest month this year!

A whole carrier bag of blackberries foraged then it went pear shaped

DD2 has a sore throat so we went to Sainsbo's for lemons and lozenges, spent £10- ish adding crisps, biscuits and chocolate biscuit treats as they were on offer. Just need to hide them from DD1 so they last the week.

Then another £5 on McDonalds for DD2.

That's a bit cryptic Adora! Did something go wrong with the bag of blackberries or did you make a blackberry and pear crumble like me?!!

The hospital don't seem to worried but tis a mystery. Hard work keeping kids entertained but better once we got to children ward. Love the NHS staff they have all been great. Frugal win they also fed dd as there was food left on the trolley.

Pointless have you got anyone with a garden that you could ask for seeds from? This time of year lots of plants have got seed pods on them, much cheaper to grow plants from seeds, i had quite a lot of success this year with sprinkling seeds into my pots rather than spending £££ on summer flowers that only last a few months.

Girlie that's a good idea, my parents would be the best bet! I bought geraniums earlier this year which have now eventually flowered and my mum is going to show me how to take cuttings and remind me to move the pots in to the garage if the weather turns cold! I'm not very good at gardening unless it's runner beans which we always end up with thousands of!

£11 today for local farm entry for me and DD, NCT group outing. We don't meet up much and I took our own sarnies/didn't buy duck food, one of the other mums kindly bought me a coffee so bit of a result for a lovely morning out in the sun!
This afternoon I persuaded DH's friends round for homemade apple cake rather than coffee shop and we all played in the garden. Off to London tomorrow to see Hamlet (tickets booked last year!) - going to travel off peak to save a £10 - and also much needed osteopath appointment so glad this weekend has been fairly frugal as tomorrow will be spendy.

If you have a Wilkos near you Pointless they are quite good for seeds, you can buy seeds on Amazon quite reasonably. As long as you prep the soil (rake it over maybe add a bit of potting soil) you can't go too wrong!

Am official broke. And a bit tipsy still from rugby. It. Was awesome. My first ever match. So glad the all blacks didn't disappoint. Dh bought me a Shiny new jersey to wear. And let me get my face painted. And practically a barrel of beer.

Checking in! Watching parts of downton abbey now. Today, spends were McDonald's, £7.28 and tk maxx £59. Didn't need anything but well...

Sainsbury's £68, that got the bulk of the food shopping list, so not too far from my £100pw target.

DH and I were looking at recipes for the rest of the week, stir fry tomorrow and going to try to make biryani for Thursday
