I prefer MN to MSE but would like to do some NSDs in January. Anyone else interested in doing a support thread ? this is the idea
I have a shocking spending habit and i really, really need to curb it. So I am going to have a goal of 10 NSDs in January and aim to manage 3 in a row. That would be a massive achievement for me.
I managed 11/10 in the end, sp pleased with that.
will pop over to February, as this really made me think about my spending habits.
Very happy I managed my final NSD on Monday so 10/10 for me.
DH says he thinks we should do feb as well so I'm popping over to the new thread!
Thanks everyone for january's support
Hope no one minds but I'm bored so per tiny diamonds request I started the feb thread.

Why is no one else up - it's only 1.30am
Only managed 13 nsds in the end but still better than 0
can we have another nsd thread for feb to keep track please? I am on the frugal feb one but some people said they don't want to do nsds
I aimed for 10 and managed 14. Can't see me beating this in Feb as dancing starts next week so that's an extra spend. Pleased with what I've achieved though.
15+1 hurrah. Feb target 17 then!
Hit 12/12 today but hoping to have NSDs every weekday this week. Starting to think about Feb now
14/15 so happy. Now I just need to decode when my final one will be :-) possibly tomorrow as I have no plans
What is it that you are finding tricky? Lots of things coming up?
One thing MSErs do is if you know you need money for gym class on wednesday, school milk money on friday etc, you "spend" it on a day you are spending money anyway.
So, my grocery and errand day is Tuesday so on this planned day, I put DDs guide fees, swim money etc into little envelopes. Then on Tuesday night Im not scrabbling for correct change, nor do I have a spend day for something out of my control
Would that help?
At last I've got to 8/10 - am finding it a little bit trickier of late.
i'm now on 10+3
go me!
10 for me now
Nsd on Friday- that makes 11!
13/15!!! Yay
8/10 today
NSD yesterday so that's 9/10. I'm really pleased. I should easily be able to one more day before Thursday!
How did I miss this?! Been doing it on MSE but I don't like posting there so basically just been updating sig then leaving!. I'd love to join if you are doing it next month too
managed 11 so far this month (original target was 8)
13/10 here for me today. The weekend will probably be spend free too.
Things are pretty tight here & I always thought we were fairly frugal, but since the beginning of this I have managed to save £170 so far. By the end of this month I'm hoping to have another £150. It's making a huge difference so thanks to everyone for their support.
7 achieved on Wednesday, 8 achieved today! Would have had another yesterday, but took advantage of the Argos gift voucher offer on MSE, ready for curtains I'm buying this week. Glad I did too, as they've realised that it was an offer that would lose them loads, and pulled it. I've just made a quiche and a lemon drizzle cake, for lunches over the weekend, but payday tomorrow so may not be able to resist the lure of Tescos.
right, 12/15. today is sort of a white lie as I have spent on paying the gas/elec and council tax bill online, but as its for next month and my salary has gone in a week earlier than usual I'm not counting it. tomorrow hopefully another nsd... I am determined to make my target!
Looks like nsd 7/10 here unless anything unexpected happens.
More exciting though is that I got paid today and still had several hundred pounds left over from last month's pay which I've now transferred ti or savings account. Can't believe how much money I must have been wasting in the past. Really feel motivated to keep going and reach 10 nsds by the end of the month.
Can't remember who was asking about how long to keep things in the freezer but I would definitely eat stuff that's been in there a year.
Nsd 10.
I haven't done very well this past week. Not spent a lot in total, but lots of little spends which has irritated me
.
NSD today so 8/10
I don't get paid til 31st so I should manage it I think. Still quite a bit in the freezer.
How long would you guys leave stuff in there and still eat it? A few months? A year? Not sure how long stuff has been lurking at the bottom tbh!
9/10 after yesterday. Hopefully another one today
