Cadbury is alive & well, but still no baby in sight!!!

And she is mighty fed up too ! She is fine, baby is fine, she just gets five to eight hour bouts of contractions that look like they are going somewhere and then peter out. This has been going on since Tuesday, so you can be sure she is pretty ~@#*ed off !!

BTW - I am Cadbury's DH, taking over internet posting duties while she rests in bed with Kleenex and Top of Pops 2.

Oh dear, poor Cadbury.

I had 12 hr bouts and then nothing for another 12 hours which went on for 4dys when I had ds. I know how tiring it can be for both of you.

If at all possible make sure you both get some sleep, you have a long slog ahead of you and she will need you on top form

Lulumamma, we got the chocolate supplies in last night (so did the midwife on Tuesday, but as its taken so long, she ate it all herself!)

We did go out for lunch this afternoon, a walk, a drive to the sea side and back again. What is really hacking her off is that after speed bumps and spicy foods, everything stopped. Now she has had a nice warm bath and is tucked up in bed, it has started again!

Chloe, thanks for the encouragement. Need to keep reminding her that there is actually a baby at the end of all this, and she is not afflicted by a swollen wriggly tummy for nothing

Lucozade tablets were a godsend to me when I actually went into labour - I'm sure they helped with the energy levels.

Still here

Cried so much yesterday that I can't get rid of the headache it's given me.

I guess what lulumama said is right - I will just ignore all contractions I get (as they just seem to go away again when I don't actively keep them going) and then wait for them to come and get me.


Just feel sooo frustrated, and tired, despite sleeping from 7pm until this morning with a brief waking for friut and chocolate.

I had a stop-start labour with ds (18m ago - do you remember the drama?? ) - contractions started every night for a week before I finally went into labour. But in the end the whole thing happened in just over four hours

Oh I bloody hope you are right mistiek and lulumama.

I have had twinges and the odd nasty contraction but they have all been pretty random over the last 24 hours. I am planning to ignore all contractions totally until I can't ignore them anymore and they won't go away. Got a horrid feeling that I will still be here like that at 42 weeks and the very last thing I want is to be induced and be in hospital again. This is my last chance to have a natural homebirth and I really don't want to miss out.

dh is going back to work tomorrow so I've got to find some energy and patience to deal with the kids on half term.
