Anyone know any sweet sounding Japanese girls names?

Or boys for that matter.

We have a Mika (maternal great grandmothers name) and a Jack (paternal grandfathers name) and we have shortlisted James and Ruby for DC3.

Have looked at Google list of Japanese baby names and nothing really stood out.

Any suggestions would be great.

Keiko

Pronounced kay-co

I've always loved it since I knew a lovely Keiko when I was younger.

Isn't Keiko the name of a famous killer whale? Something to do with Free Willy or Seaworld...racking brains to think of where I know it from?

DD1 has a Japanese friend called Reika (pronounced Ray-ka), which I think sounds lovely.

Reika is nice, shame our close friends dog is called Reiki!

DD was nearly Mayumi but we weren't sure if it would suit a very likely to be blonde and blue eyed Essex girl. Still like it though, maybe if I ever have a third..

I know two half-Japanese Mias, so I'm guessing that Mia is a Japanese name or very close to one.

Mizuki. I taught English in Japan many moons ago and taught a 14yr old girl called Mizuki. She was a sweetie and I loved her name too.

Aimi and Megumi are two half Japanese girls I've known.

There's a list here which might be useful
