I liked this if baby turned out to be a boy but recently heard of a wee girl with the name.
What is the mn opinion!
Don't want to give a boy a girls name iyswim!
This is dc 4 and the name sounds nice with the other dcs names.

In so far as it's a name at all (it's a last neam in my opinion!) it's a boy's name. It would be awful for a girl!

if I heard it I would assume boy.
but it could suit a girl too. i am probably the only one who will say that on here though lol

Definitely a boy's name.
I know a lovely 9-year old Ellis.

I know both girls and boys with the name.

The one girl who is dd1's friend is lovely, very sweet, and it suits her.

Ah - yes, MrsMattie, Elise is a girl's name ... perhaps that's where confusion can arise.

My cousin's son's middle name is Ellis. It was chosen as it was his grandmother's maiden name.
