We're really struggling to find a girls name that's right for us. DP found a name he really likes & I thought it was nice too but literally no one we've casually mentioned it to likes it. We don't feel we can ask people who know us to tell us what they think in case we did end up picking it & it'd be awkward. But really I'm not too keen to pick something that seems so unpopular. So can I ask what you think of this name? What does it evoke?
It's Adaline (pronounced Add-a-line)

I like it! Reminds me of that film with Blake Lively in. A really classy film so for me, all good associations.

But spelt Adeline

Adaline looks like a type of headache tablet. Sorry.

I like it. Lovely for a little girl and an adult.

I like it but for some reason when written Adeline seems softer imo, even though pronounced the same.

It's unusual and makes a nice change from cutesy names.

I quite like it but it's spelt Adeline. Add-eh-line.

I think I prefer it with an e. But it's pretty and unusual enough that there won't be a class full of them in a few years (if that matters to you!)

Lovely but spell it Adeline.

I would say it add-a-len.

I like it. You've chosen the ada spelling (like the movie) but it can also be spelled Adeline (like Adeline Adams) which is how I'd spell it.

I love it (also with the Adeline spelling). There's a lovely film starring Blake Lively, The Age of Adeline.

Or add-eh-len.

I like the name Adeline. That's DD's BFF's name, although she's known as Addie.

Except I just googled it and they used your spelling so I stand corrected. Either way, it's a pretty name that will also suit an adult. :)

I love it spelt Adeline but I also love Aveline if that might be more popular with your casual acquaintances and family

Lovely name. I know an Adelina (add-a-leena) which I also like a lot

Gorgeous name but like other posters I would spell it Adeline . Adaline just doesn't look right somehow.

I like it. Plus it was Virginia Woolf's name - she was born Adeline Virginia Stephen.

I love it, although I prefer to see it spelt Adeline.
