As the title says really!

We would use Eve on bc but call them Evie and Bath would be just Beth on bc NOT Elizabeth or Bethany.

Please not Eve or Evie, she will be one of 15 in her class. Out of the others I prefer Beth.

Bath = Beth obviously.
Esther with nn Essie we're thinking.

Is it really that popular? We have dd 15 months and I haven't met and Eve/Evie round here yet.

All gorgeous.

My absolute favourite would be Beth (as a nn for Bethan)

What is DD1 called? That might help us decide for you!

All lovely names. Esther is my favourite.

DD is Holly so I think would go with any of them without too many issues?

Esther! Gorgeous and unusual.

Yes all good with Holly.

I think Holly and Evie sound least good beause of the 'ie' sounds at the end and in my rather overanalytical mind I associate both Holly and Eve with Christmas! Also Evie is the most popular by quite some way.

Beth or Esther are both gorgeous - I've said that already but worth saying again, because they are refreshingly fab names - anyway, that's enough of my opinions! Good luck!

oo good xmas point. I already worry I'm going to get teenage strops from our Holly about having a stupid name for a Spring baby so no need to build on that!

Esther by a long way. Not keen on the others.

Esther. Beth is a bit wet (can't get away from the Little Women character, personally) and Eve is overused. Esther is beautiful as well as strong.

I like Eve the best, but it is very popular at the moment. Not at all keen on Esther. Beth is nice too.

Perhaps if you choose Eve, you might think about giving her a longer first name and call her Eve as a nn. Then, if there are lots of Eve's at school, she has the opportunity to use a longer version.

I like Eve and Beth equally but because Eve seems very 'right now' then I say Beth.

I do like Esther, it's a serious name. It suits an adult but not a child.

I have dd1 Holly and we named dd2 Eve...but, for some of the reasons stated above (Christmassy theme, Eve being WAY too popular etc) and others, I couldn't stick with it and ended up changing at 5 months to Anna. Much happier now I changed so I would go with Beth (love it on it's own or as shortened form of Bethan) or Esther.

By the way prior to having dd2 I hadn't met a single other Eve, since then every girl I meet seems to be some variation of Eve, Evie or Eva!

Driver dan that is spooky because dh has started going on about Anna today!

There are quite a few Evies in the school I teach at, but no Beths at all!

I think Evie is such a beautiful name but it is just so ubiquitous, or at least seems so! What about Evangeline?

Don't like Beth but Essie is a lovely nn for Esther.

Well Anna is a beautiful name Grin

Shortlist is now Ester, Beth and Anna.

Is Beth really that wet? Both Fleur and Lydia have been vetoed so far on those grounds.

Esther is a soft feminine name imo so i love that one but I love razzle's idea of Eve being short for Evangeline or perhaps how about Genevieve? Essie is a sweet nn for Esther and Beth is okay too.

The only problem i have with Beth is that some children will call her Bef as they can't all pronounce their 'th' sounds. This makes a beautiful name sound dreadful. i knew a little girl who thought her name was Kay-ee as her mum never pronounced the 't' in Katie Shock also there is a little girl whose name is Xanthe - again a gorgeous name - but is called Xanfee by her sister and dad so consequently my DD thought that was her name as hadn't come across it before.

Food for thought Smile

I think that Beth needs to be short for something, maybe Bethan. Eve/Evie is lovely but a bit too popular and doesn't go with Holly imo. Esther is a lovely strong but femine name. Anna is nice too.

I really don't like Bethany, Bethan or Elizabeth though. Bef would do my nut in.

Ack! Names are hard.

If it's a boy we're using a family name so that's easy. It is if it's a girl that we have issues as Holly was our one shared adored name.

Can we call dd2 Hollie perhaps?!
