to boycott Amazon for hiring Jeremy Clarkson

Top Gear spent YEARS promoting dangerous, antisocial attitudes.
Cars AREN'T toys. When they are misused, people can get KILLED.
It seemed wrong that the BBC seemed to promote this idea that motorists are "above the law" with no concern for the dangers in residential areas caused (parents afraid to let their kids play out); wrong to promote the attitude that the best car, driver, driving is the FASTEST with no concern for the young drivers who kill themselves (and others) by driving too fast.

How, why did the BBC get away with it for so long?

Why has AMAZON now given Clarkson a new home and, no doubt, an opportunity to enrich himself still further while promoting attitudes that will surely cost lives?

I can think of far better reasons to boycott Amazon.

But go ahead and knock yourself out if it makes you feel better.

VivaLeBeaver · 30/07/2015 16:17

I'm sure Amazon will miss you greatly.

KittensOnAPlane · 30/07/2015 16:19

i cant stand that pompous windbag arsehole

so glad he is off the main tv

morethanpotatoprints · 30/07/2015 16:19

Not sure it will make any difference but if it makes you feel better.

araiba · 30/07/2015 16:20

jeebus

i'm going to boycott edwardtaylor posts from now on due to high levels of crap contained within them

leccybill · 30/07/2015 16:20

I'll probably watch it, even though I think what he did was out of order. Meh. I like James May.

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/07/2015 16:20

If adults old enough to know better choose to drive in a way that is dangerous bases on what three people on tv do then they are responsible for their own actions.

I'm. Sure most people aren't out cooking frogs and sleeping naked inside their skinned dogs because bear Grylls did it on tv.

roads have speed limits it's up to the drivers to follow them not ignore them cos Jeremy Clarkson did.

The road was always meant for transport of goods, not as a play area. But if it makes you feel better . . .

LooseSeal · 30/07/2015 16:23

Why has AMAZON now given Clarkson a new home

Because Top Gear with Clarkson et all was hugely popular both in the UK and worldwide. You might not like it, but an awful lot of people do and it'll make them money.

Bailey101 · 30/07/2015 16:24

I watch CSI but I don't go around wrestling gun wielding criminals. Similarly, I don't watch top gear and start driving like a nutter. I very much doubt Jeremy Clarkson is the reason people die on the roads - twats will drive like twats regardless of Jezza!

VivaLeBeaver · 30/07/2015 16:25

TopGear has never shown any speeding on public roads. Racing is done on race tracks. So you could say the same about the Grand Prixs.

Bailey101 · 30/07/2015 16:28

Can you imagine how the OP must drive after an afternoon of F1 Grin

dontbemoredog · 30/07/2015 16:31

i cant stand that pompous windbag arsehole

OP or Clarkson?

specialsubject · 30/07/2015 16:32

I boycott Amazon because they don't pay their taxes. The fact that they've hired a workplace bully will not change that.

Cars AREN'T toys

I disagree, I have several that are purely toys. I have no reason to own them other than as play things.

Cocolepew · 30/07/2015 16:33

I'm just pissed off they didn't go to Netflix

GraysAnalogy · 30/07/2015 16:35

I think we must have watched a different programme from each other you and I because that's not the impression I got at all.

JennyOnAPlate · 30/07/2015 16:36

I'm pissed off because dh will now decide we need Amazon prime when I'm pretty sure we have access to enough crap TV on sky. Why can't he just watch the repeats that are shown on Dave all the bloody time?!!

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 30/07/2015 16:40

VivaLeBeaver · 30/07/2015 16:40

I am slightly pissed off because I have both netflix and Amazon and was going to cancel Amazon but will now have to keep both!

VivaLeBeaver · 30/07/2015 16:42
