I don't care about what your manifesto is. I've come onto Mumsnet to avoid the bloody election. So don't post a bloody advert on my bloody laptop screen.

And by the way, SNP, Tories, LibDems, Greens, UKIP and every other political candidate - same goes for you.

I don't come on here to avoid the election, but I don't like seeing political parties advertise on here.

You need to go Google the Innes and Gunn beer bond and click on it. You'll then have Innes & Gunn ads everywhere instead of political stuff. Not a single political advert to be seen on my MN, but there are many bottles of beer. grin]

I thought the ads were based on your Google history?

Mine is currently full of bloody overpriced stunt scooters which I'm sick of looking at, guess what DS wants for his birthday Hmm

I agree. I've just hidden both the Politics and Scotsnet topics because I'm sick to the bloody back teeth of the whole bloody lot of them.

Now I have a naice M&S advert for summer clothes at the top of my screen and I feel more peaceful

Oh good, it's gone. I've just got ads for cars and bras.

If that was the case, shitebag, I'd be indundated with Minecraft adverts, thanks to DS. Wink

You come to Mumsnet to avoid the election?

Have you seen how many threads there are about it? Confused

I've got ad blocker so I can't see them.

Can you block topics with certain words in the heading?

I'd just like to say that I have totally noticed the Labour adverts, for the exact amount of time they've been funding my MN habit, and am totally considering voting for them in my LD-Tory marginal. Honest.

Are you voting at all, dougierose? I think you've ruled everyone out there but I'm not entirely sober ATM. You left out Plaid cymru?

I feel like I'm bombarded with election bollocks on MN. I'm surprised you feel like you are getting away from it here.

Thread after thread talking about who to vote for, policies, Cameron said this, Clegg said that, blah blah blah blah blah.

So frickin tedious.

Koalafications · 04/05/2015 23:00

SirChenjin that would be amazing.

Adblocker.

It's great - but it doesn't help MN.

I really notice the adverts when I use other computers. They really take over the website on some sites.

I'll email HQ and ask them - pretty sure that the answer will be no, but I have the tech know-how of a slug so it's worth a shot

Google penguin bollards. They'll pursue you for ever.

I am voting, Sorry but I like to choose when I wish to think about the election (ie certain TV programmes, radio items, etc etc), not have it blazed across my screen like a gatecrasher. Sorry, this sounds huffy and pompous.

I like the election threads that go: "Snog, marry, avoid.... George Osborne, Nigel Farage or Eric Pickles?"

Emmeline Pankhurst would be so proud.

Please say that it's based on my email history and not that MNHQ Have had their palms crossed with probably miscounted silver to put a party polical banner up on the site. It's been making me go Angry all day.

The bollocks is only once every five years, koalafications - that's less often than royal babies! (depending on future royal baby schedule ofc)

Anotehr Adblocker here. Dont see any adverts at all. Perfect.

Ooh yes - I like the snog, marry, avoid election threads - although the marry/snog ones always confuse me a bit because you have to snog someone for life if you marry them. I spend more time thinking about that and less time considering their policies, which, as you say, probably wasn't what Mrs P had in mind.

apologies and leaves the room
