hoping for some encouraging tales of successful pregnancies from the over 40s out there

My friend conceived twins naturally when she was 46. They were her first children, she had an amazing pregnancy and although she had a C-section (common with twins in Belgium) the birth was okay too.

40 - very early 41.

We decided to try for our last child and I became pregnant almost immediately. Easy, straightforward pregnancy. Fast birth. No problems.
She is 10. Best thing I ever did.

I was 38 (eleven years ago, considered positively ancient) - there seem to be an increasing number of woman having children in their 40's, and all being and going well, more power to them.

I will be 41 when this little one arrives in a few weeks.

Six-year gap because we were renovating a house and DH didn't think he wanted another child. He then changed his mind.

Luckily I got pregnant easily, had a great pregnancy and natural birth, all midwife-directed.

Does that count?

40, but exactly 3 weeks before my 41st birthday.

I'm hoping I'm not done yet. I have 2 so far. DH has agreed to another if I can magic a million pounds into our bank or savings account.

I'll be 42 when dc3 is born, conceived after 2 months. Already have dd1 14 and dd2 12 :-0

39, problem free pregnancy, labour and birth.

Gave birth to DD2 19 days after my 40th birthday. Took around six months to conceive. Very easy home waterbirth.

Phosphene your answer gives me most hope so far (and fear! twins, oh my)

First and last at 39

I was 21 but I know 2 women who are 40+ and having their first babies, they seem to be having healthy pregnancies so far as well.

I had my youngest two weeks before my 41st birthday.

42 -and the birth was a walk in the park compared to DS1

I was 39, easy pregnancy and birth. She is a 4 year old minx now!

33-but I have 2 friends who only started their families in their 40's. 1 now has 2 kids and the other 3 and is still trying for another at 46 so dont give up hope!

DD was born when I was 39 and I am ttc DC2 so I will be watching this thread!

A friend of mine has just had her third child at 45.
