Im a 10 on top 12 on bottem, this can to yo up and down slightly. Im dreading a life time of denying myself cake biscuits cheese and nachos. Why can't I let myself go ( as my mother would say) and stop giving a shit and just eat cake. Whats going to be so bad if I end up a 14/16?

What's so good about staying a 10/12 I would love to be a 6/8 if I could, but hey I love food and I want cake every day so fuck it, it's winter and I'm going to get fat!

Think of your health!!

I can't really say that I'm a happy and healthy cake eating size 14 Grin

Yes I'd be a happy 14 if I could eat cake and cheese everyday.

As nice as possible Fuck the balance and Fuck exercise to before anybody tells me that!

It doesn't have to be either/or.

You can quite easily eat treats and stay a size 10/12

Just don't eat too many of them and make sure you exercise for the benefit of your health.

One slice of cake a day alongside a healthy diet and reasonable exercise would not make anyone fat.

You dont need to deny yourself any of the things you like, in moderation.

It's your body, you can do what you like.

Personal preference isn't it.

I've been a 14-16 and 10-12 and i know which I'm happier with. I don't like denying myself nice treats so every now and again I lose a bit then I gain a bit and so on. I know if I never bothered to lose a bit I would end up very unhappy and lose my confidence.

I am size 10 and hate putting on pounds, was size 14 a few years ago and so fed up. Love size I am now more than any old cake.

But size is a personal issue so each to own..

I eat whatever I want. Size 10-12. Took a bit of doing to get "whatever I want" to not be "all the crap in the world." I used to be an 18-20.

I eat cheese every day, cake a couple of times a week, bit of alcohol most days. You don't have to get fat to enjoy yourself, and you don't have to deny yourself to be a healthy weight.

I don't want moderation. I want to eat everything every day. Not think well I had croissants for breakfast so no I won't have bri baguette for lunch.

I really dislike exercise, when I start feeling heavier I force myself to do davina DVD for a month. I just can't be arsed no more...

I want cheese and bacon and salads drenched in dressing type of healthy diet.

Crunchy frog, how do you manage to eat what you want every day?

Thing is, you eat everything every day, you won't end up a 14/16. You will just get fatter and fatter, until size 16 seems like a tiny sylph-like size.

Don't go there. It's bloody hard losing it again.

It's making me miserable. I went from 8 stone size 8, to ten stone and flabby in two months. I do not feel good. I'm back off the cigs, the booze and the crappy food and I'll starting running again soon. Try it, but it's harder to take off than to put on. Grin

Yanbu, I am on a low carb diet at the mo and snacking on celery - it sucks. I am size 10-12 but want to lose my middle tyre. I do feel less bloated and like that my days have less energy highs and lows though.

And you can have all of those things if you keep your portions small and mix it with a healthy diet.

You don't need to be doing random DVD exercises either if you exercise every day...try not to drive anywhere unless absolutely necessary.

It's your body and your life but since you ask what's wrong with being a size 16, I'm sure many people will tell you that there's nothing wrong with the dress size itself...but there's everything wrong with fat clinging to your internal organs and putting a strain on your joints and your heart.

That's not guaranteed to happen but the likelihood is quite high.

Also if you're a parent, it's not a great example to set your kids.

I'm afraid to try it, I know I would end up bed bound with snacks all around me!

If I'm being more reasonable I would say, I'd like to eat 3 meals a day with a couple of snacks and a few glasses of wine on a weekend. But when I do that I pile on the pounds, I need to eat 2 small meals with no snacks to maintain what size I'm happy with. It's really depressing I love food.

By changing what I wanted. Changing habits.

If I had eaten what I wanted when I wanted it two years ago, I would have been super fat. I was obese. So I started thinking a bit more about what I wanted and why I wanted it.

If you really, really listen to your body, what you actually, physically want is stable blood sugar, good, filling, tasty, healthy food and plenty of it. I have zero "diet" food, low fat is not allowed in this house.

And sometimes, what I want is e.g. a family bar of galaxy, a bag of doritos and some ice cream. And that, on those days, is what I have.

Probably 90% of the time, what I want co-incides with what is also a Good Thing. This is a happy place to be.

RUN. 5 or 6 days a week for half to one full hour. You can then eat WHATEVER YOU LIKE (in moderation). Make an awesome playlist and get a pair of good sneakers. Find a lovely trail. Enjoy the sweaty feeling and the sore muscles...you will now have to eat quite a bit to maintain your weight Grin.

A little bit of what you fancy is good for you :)

Report
ivykaty44 · 24/09/2012 22:12

unfortunately the doing more isn't really effective - it only accounts for about 20% of your weight - the other 80% is dictated by what you eat.

Plus you already walk those 15 minute walks and are the weight you are - so if you eat more your weight will go up unless you do more - but again it will only limit your weight gain by a small amount.

Thing is it doesn't matter if you get bigger and bigger - it will most probably matter to you though as it will effect your health, your heart, your lungs and your endocrine system, short term it will put you more predisposed to heart attack and long term if your health suffers then you will be uncomfortable. But that doesn't matter to others and they will not suffer

Yes that should work (as long as you only consider the weekend to be one day)!
