Even though she has made a tit of herself and tried to exploit her royal connections, she is still mother to Beatrice and Eugenie and surely has a lot more right to be at the wedding that at least some of the 1,900 guests that got an invite to on or other of the 3 parts of the event...

I agree

In context, would you invite your Uncle's ex wife to your wedding?

exactly what I was going to say breathing!

Um, no.

If it was Beatrice or Eugenie's wedding and she wasn't invited, I would agree, but she's no longer a member of the RF, and maybe William and Catherine don't like her, or perhaps someone at Buck House thought that her presence would be uncomfortable for the rest of the RF.

I was hoping, when I saw Andrew in his uniform, and his daughters in their finery, that Fergie was eatching it in her pyjamas with a cup of tea and a bowl of cornflakes or something!!!

But her and Andrew get on fine

I don't see why she should.

I am sure if she was close to Prince William she'd have been included. Cannot invite everyone. I wouldn't be inviting my Aunts ex-hubby to my wedding.

I [heart] Fergie. She's my second favourite Royal.

She might not be a member of the RF but she's still his Aunt

Report
breathing · 29/04/2011 17:45

No she isnt his aunt anymore

Report
handsomeharry · 29/04/2011 17:45

I don't think she should have been invited. She isn't actually an aunt but the ex wife of their uncle. Plus, she'd probably have tried to flog the ticket on ebay. Grin

But Compo - It is not Andrew's wedding. Or his daughters wedding.

but I guess they're not close any more

I don't really blame her for exploiting her royal connections tbh, what else was she going to do? Not like she could retrain or get a normal job after they split? She was out in the cold.

I don't actually think she should have been invited but I think it must be quite tough on her dd's for her to always be excluded.

atswimtwolengths · 29/04/2011 17:52

I think it's because of her shady dealings, trading in on her connection to the royal family, isn't it? Maybe they thought there would be too many 'targets' there and didn't trust her not to take advantage.

I like Fergie and really have goodwill toward her and her daughters, but O.M.G those girls have, sadly, inherited their mother's fashion taste. gulp.
Although Fergie came up trumps on her wedding day, her dress was gorge.

She should of been there. She is still on good terms with Andrew, she was thier aunt and watched him grow up and she was Dianas friend.

She wasn't friends with Di in the latter years. Things cooled during Di's divorce from Charles.

Was Princess Anne's ex hubby there?

I didn't invite my uncle's ex-wife to my wedding. Didn't even cross my mind, I've only seen her once since they got divorced, at my Gran's funneral. I imagine most people don't think of ex-wives/ex-husbands of their Uncles/Aunts as family anymore.

You know when the King of Tongo arrived? I thought it was Mohammed Al Fayed and actually SAID WITH MY MOUTH..."is that Mohammed Al Fayed?"

I will never ever live it down. Anyway. Of course Sarah couldn't go, the same way as I'm not invited to my ex wanker's family weddings; my children are though. That's the way it is.
