I loved PBK when I lived in the States and have had some things shipped to the UK two or three times now I live here.

Forget what it says about free delivery, that is always only for the US. You'll be paying full whack to whatever international shipper they work with now (it used to be Borderfree, that might have changed). You will also have to pay customs. Add everything to your cart, go to Checkout and it will tell you the bottom line. Be prepared for a nasty shock when you add customs and shipping!

If the exchange rate is good, you can still get some good deals, but mostly it is quite expensive. Having said that, I have their stockings (the Fair Isle ones) and they are absolutely beautiful and well worth it.

If you have any friends or family in the US, a more cost-effective option is to have the things delivered to them and have them bring them over to you.

hold thanks so much for reply, I do have a friend in the states and she is coming this xmas, can i ask a silly question!

does she buy it and i give her the money or do i buy it and just put her address?

also the stockings - I want the quilted I think, look great on their site but on ebay they look more snagged, but you think quality is good? are they known as a good quality store?

I would order it on my own credit card to my friends address. Then she could bring it to me. If you have trouble completing the order online because of postcodes or something silly like that, call their telephone order line. They can often override these problems manually.

I have a PBK quilted stocking for DD1 & it's great & gets lots of lovely compliments.

All I need to do now is work out how to order one for DD2 so that she doesn't miss out this (her first) Christmas. My challenge is to see if it's possible to pre-order & then collect from the PBK in Dubai...

But I would throughly recommend getting one as all of their stuff is lovely.

What Holiday said! I buy it on my card and have it shipped to my Dad.

I have three different-patterned Fair Isle stockings and the quality is fabulous. Inside is lined with lovely soft cotton. I've put some quite heavy things inside and they haven't stretched out of shape.

Dubai has a PBK?! They just opened in Australia too. When are we going to get one?!

I am in Love with them

My jaw dropped when I saw them, but I cannot justify price for two and I would have to get two ..with extra shipping and taxes

A couple of years ago they did a free postage to the UK promotion. Got some Elf on the Shelf pjs and a personalised stocking for my DS. I think it was in October so may be worth holding on to see if they do it again? I'm not sure if they did it last year as we were abroad anyway.

Beyond, these are just mass produced copies of what American mums traditionally make for their families. You could definitely make something just as nice yourself. It would be cheaper, and your kids would be really proud and treasure them forever. You wouldn't need a sewing machine.

Ummm.....That old, I could make one myself Grin But I am crap at sewing and when you look at website that people make their own in UK they are not as nice...

How would I even begin, I would LOVE to do it...but How?

Etsy can be good if you are (like me!) craftily-challenged.

You have to really hunt though, there is a lot of tat.

Not on the High Street usually have a good range of stockings of that type. Also The White Company's are often similar (that's where all ours are from)

I've just googled to see if there's anything about PB / PBK coming over to the UK but the only article I can find is one from 2011 saying that they were looking to do so within the next year, so it obvs didn't happen

The sister brand West Elm is in the uk. They have some stockings, but a bit more adult.
Hopefully pottery ban will be here soon!

The pbk stockings are awesome. I'm just hoping the Christmas stock comes in here (dubai) before I go home for my trip before Christmas as new nephew needs one. His big bro has one already and they love it.

I think it's still border free who are their shipper, and I've had good service from them shipping random stuff from US to Middle East over the last few years

PBK do deliver to the UK. We had a mobile delivered for Dd a few months ago - the shipping is quite pricey, but it does include customs.

We have the quilted ones I love them! Do you NEED them this Christmas? I had a Christmas wedding and got about 15 of them in the January sale to give out full of toys to the children attending. They were a couple of dollars each. The US knows how to do sales!

Fern no, I cant wait....

Should I wait them perhaps? maybe I will.

i assume the reductions will be worth the shipping etc.

BTW what an utterly wonderful gift to the dc attending your wedding!!!

Also if you hold your nerve, sometimes they even start reducing prices before Christmas is even past, ie around Dec 15.

But I don't want to get your hopes up, because a)they might not do that this year and b) stuff probably wouldn't make it to the UK in time in that case.

Still though I reckon the odds are decent - say 50-50 - that there will be some kind of reduction on stockings between now and Dec 25.

If anyone is eyeing up one of their advent calendars (I have one and it's lovely!) I would order it soon-ish, that is, before the end of October because some do sell out before Dec 1, and you will want to give yourself a month for it to arrive, just in case there are any delays (though in 3 big orders in 2 years, I have only had one hiccup - it was the advent calendar though!).

I bought the snowman and train version a couple of years ago. The shipping was half price. They are gorgeous and well worth it. I couldn't find any designs I liked on the high street
