The heartrending plight of the person who manages venues, having come to the realisation that since Maya Forstater's appeal win it's not legal for him to discriminate against women he doesn't like for their feminist views, despite all misleading TRA propaganda to the contrary 🎻

IcakethereforeIam · 12/10/2023 17:48

He should probably find a different line of work, poor lamb.

OvaHere · 12/10/2023 17:59

Is there anything more tragic in this world than men who are told no?

Should we chip in for a support wombat?

There’s a comment in there - “they will victimise themselves no matter what” which I assume has been typed with a straight face, amazingly enough.

IHaveAskedYouThriceNow · 12/10/2023 18:17

What a bunch of pathetic projecting pissweasels!
I thought Glaswegians had more noise than that! R/Glasgow doesn’t do it justice!

IHaveAskedYouThriceNow · 12/10/2023 18:17

Noise = nouse

vegetation · 12/10/2023 18:47

Anyone else getting a "we took too long to make this page for you try again and hopefully we will be fast enough this time (error code: 504)" message when clicking on that Reddit post, but only when logged in?

vegetation · 12/10/2023 18:52

Oh I think it's because the OP blocked me after I left a terfy comment lol

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/10/2023 19:01

Oh dear - more #OperationletThemSpeak in full flow.
Fancy women being allowed to meet and even speak without permission? The new Victorians walk amongst us. 😂

Stephannee · 12/10/2023 19:01

Re legal issues how come not 1 but 2 venues were permitted to cancel an event featuring Graham Linehan based on the fact his views could be considered to be promoting hate?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 12/10/2023 19:05

Presumably he didn't have immediate access to a legal team that could get the venue uncancelled in time?

Filia are lucky they seemed to have had a legal team on standby.

Stephannee · 12/10/2023 19:07

Well it's easy to tell from the thread which users are "gender critical". As we've seen from the "experiment" on the other thread Reddit is good at handing out bans to abusive users.

IcakethereforeIam · 12/10/2023 19:10

I got the impression that Glinner felt a bit sorry for them. If not the first venue, then definitely the second one.

Just reading the comments. Love it!
A venue person saying since Forstater ruling that it's not legal to hold up a No Entry sign.

Finally. Finally! It's getting thru to these people that the days of No Platforming are over for good.

I'm sure this comment is monumental, because it means the sign has gone up, GCs cannot be shut down and have their opportunities to meet and publicise withdrawn.

If sanity properly returns, and I believe it will, we'll look back to Maya, and Allison, and salute just how critical the outcomes of their cases were to the war that was won.

What a bunch of absolute cry babies. Were we ever gonna allow society and the outcomes for women to be controlled by the 2023 equivalent of Rick from the Young Ones, just with less maturity and more hysteria? It did look that way for a few years.

Freshstart78 · 12/10/2023 19:16

That’s gone pretty well by Reddit standards

Stephannee · 12/10/2023 19:18

Just a thought? What if a "gender critical" person were to speak at such an event and on the day all the venue staff suddenly said they felt ill and had to go home?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2023 19:18

Newsflash: Actual women are a "concept that does not exist" because there is no way to define us, according to a poster there.

If women are a "concept that does not exist" then how do the men that demand we call them women a) know what a woman actually is and b) know that they "identify/feel" like one?

Make this fucking arsewash make sense!!!!

I would think the venue would have to take all reasonable steps not to allow their employees to discriminate either - so warn of disciplinary sanctions etc

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2023 19:27

Now FiLiA and their allies are allegedly "forcibly turning kids into the opposite sex against their will until they are 18". Who knew?

Yes, I wonder where this ineffable "woman" identity emerged from?

I’d imagine the whole venue would need to be closed for a few days to give it a deep clean if all the staff were ill. Maybe even need investigating by environmental health. Would probably be quite costly to make it safe to work in again. It’s not as if all the staff would be lying is it?

ArabellaScott · 12/10/2023 19:41

Just a thought: what if a venue's staff all felt 'ill' and had to go home when they were due to serve a party of Muslims?
