Hate to tell you this, but giving up drinking wine helped me. Also, cutting out any unnecessary fat in meals too.

For the past 10 days I have cut out alcohol, drank loads of water, eaten fresh fruit, veg lean chicken, fish, all healthily cooked. Had breakfast every day (use to skip it). No crisps, chocolate (snacked on nuts and fruit). Walked more, skipping 10 mins a day.....and have already lost 8lbs

Er, eaten less and exercised more. Cut out snacks and wine Monday-Thursday, 30 mins moderate exercise 3 times a week (for me, brisk walking and cycling).

I lost 2 stone and kept it off until I got pregnant. For me the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to do it very slowly. It took me 7 months to lose 2 stone but I wasn't really dieting very strictly. In the week I would be quite strict, yoghurt & fruit for breakfast, fruit for lunch and chicken or fish with vegetables for dinner and occasionally I would have a baked potato as well. At the weekend I would eat whatever I wanted, from thai food, pizza, chocolate etc. I also drank wine.

When I reached my goal weight I found it easy to keep it off and I continued eating the same as before but would also eat carbs for dinner.

Never, ever diet. Just eat healthy foods and it is so easy and remember everything in moderation, including moderation!

skipping meals

Not medically advised I guess but i find if I don't eat dinner two nights a week it falls off, as long as I do it with no snacking and proper breakfast and lunch

CHange of attitude - the purpose of food is not sensory pleasure/feeling greedily full, it is FUEL.Therefore I do not NEED 3 good meals a day, plus snacks whenever I am bored or tired.

I now eat a decent breakfast and either a snacky lunch and a good dinner or vice versa. Portion control is key too. Snacks are either fruit or crackers. I drink loads of water - at least 4pints on top of tea/coffee. I am not denying myself stuff, (last night had 2 glasses wine, night before had a Crunchie)but I am being sensible.

I am being more active too.
I've lost 11 lbs in 6 weeks and feel lots better. Now 10st9, want to lose another 7-12lbs.

BTW, I am not dieting. If I say to myself that I am on a diet I become obsessed with food and end up eating lots more!

I changed my eating habits and introduced a excercise programme that was realistic and abtainable. I started by cooking all my meals from scratch with proper ingrediants instead of buying jars of sauces. The excercise I do isn't a diet thing - I do the same every week so it becommes part of your weekly routine - it helps to start with if you write it in your diary so the time is "booked" so to speak.

I also try to only indulge at the weekends and not to drink alcohol during the week.

I went to kazkahstan for three months, lost two stone (on top of the stone I'd lost before going)

Don't diet - just makes you more obsessed with food.

Walk/cycle/run to wherever you would normally drive to (within reason!) - then exercise doesn't take up much extra time in your day.

Eat little and often - lots of small meals throughout the day and don't skips meals. The food needs to be healthy-ish though - eating lots of small chocolate bars through the day probably doesn't work (she says eating a chocolate eclair but feeling virtuous because cycled to work!)

I've stopped baking cakes and biscuits for the time being

Write down everything that you eat and be honest about it.

Have a purpose and a goal and write down the steps that that you need to take in order to attain your objective. Read it every day until what you are doing becomes a habit.

If I feel a snack attack coming on, I drink a glass of water. That usually satiates my appetite.

Eat smaller portions and fill half the plate with vegetables or salad.

Snack on fruit. Have a small piece of chocolate or a biscuit at the weekend if you fancy some.

Exercise, exercise, exercise. This can be formal (e.g. gym, running ,swimming) or just move around more. Also, try to walk more, use the stairs etc.

Good luck!
