I feel much more motivated now that WWB lost such a lot! Is that very competitive of me ?

Morning all

Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition Sue .So glad your Daniel is doing so well too.You are obv a very good mummy!!

I feel fairly motivated but with the wedding over i don't have as good a reason for keeping it off iyswim? I could be perfectly happy with myself as i am and i am not sure if getting to my target weight is as important as how i feel in my clothes etc.I plan to eat healthily most of the time probably throught the week and have a treat on Saturdays.BBQ or carry out of some kind. And a bit of booze too but will keep that to a Saturday too.

Class teacher has put my target weight a 9st 7lbs so i have 19lbs to go.It is not a lot compared to what i have already lost but it will be the hardest to lose i reckon.

Off to see what the dd's are up to,too quiet for my liking xx

Very competitive of you, Sue! But that's A Good Thing.

Thank you for my crown Heaven only knows how I managed to lose so much but I'm really pleased that I did. It's motivated me for this week as well, although as it's the first week since piling weight back on it's probably mainly water.

agalch - actually I'm not a very good mummy (but don;t tell anyone! I'm just a good enough mummy, I think he would have thrived with any attention given to him, I was lucky it was me that got to do it.

I'm very glad you're back, WWB, and even more glad that you're doing so well. Taking a leaf out of your book (or being a copycat, take your pick ) I'm going to be off MN for a couple of weeks while I sort out some Stuff (not weight related), so I won't be posting or emailing weights for then. I expect I'll go up and down as usual and I'll return to the fold when sorted.

I hope everything's OK, Fauve. Have a good break (it's good for the soul, I've found!) but come back soon.

Thanks, WWB. Keep up the good work! And I'll look forward to catching up again.

Congratulations WWB!

I'v just caught up with the end of the last thread and saw Sue's news about her ds. It's only Monday morning and I'm already in tears. Well done to little D.

Fauve - enjoy your break and come back when you feel ready to.

Good luck for this week everyone.

Agree with whoever put something about a welling up emoticon on the other thread about sue's DS. Lovely news, lovely to hear.
Am slightly in awe at all your weightloss ladies - don't think I will be anywhere near 3/4/5/6/7 pounds, will be lucky to lose a pound hte rate I'm going. Tried on my summer clothes from last year this weekend and they won't even NEARLY do up. So depressing I nearly had a cry. Don't think I will ever be able to lose this.

EllieG - slower is actually good when it comes to weight loss - it's more likely to stay off that way. I think it was Suejonez' doctor who recommended aiming to lost 2 lb a month, ie half a pound a week, as the best thing to aim for, so please don't be discouraged.

OK, I've been Avoiding again - haven't been to WW for 2 weeks now, but just wanted to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to WWB for a brilliant loss!! Doesn't matter what it is - 7lbs is 7lb is bloody brilliant!

I'm aiming to get my lardy rear down to WW this Thursday and am trying to get back on track, but finding it very difficult...

Sue - your thread about Daniel is lovely - have really enjoyed reading it - makes me a lot!

Ellie, my loss was after piling weight back on again, so was mainly water. I don't expect to carry on like that - half a pound a week will do me, as long as I can carry on losing a little bit consistently then I'll be happy.

Try not to get too bogged down by exact weights week on week. A downward trend is better than huge weight losses every week - it's easier to sustain, plus it's more likely that you'll keep it off.

Think positive ... you've made the first step, that has to be a good thing.

Anyway ... where's my evil twin Sue? She had me sniffling again with her thread about Daniel the other day, and I wanted to say how fantastically I think they're both doing. Even if she is a Jane Eyre fan ...

Ellie I know a small loss isn't very exciting but it is pretty normal. And you feel much better having done something about it and being in control of your eating rather than the other way around? I haven't had a great week, but equally not a terrible week so this week is good week IYSWIM because I feel back in control again. I'm not perfect and I may even have put a small amount on. But I am getting back on track and it doesn;t matter if it takes a week or so to do that fully because this is my life now. There isn't pre/post diet for me any more, there is just life and a life where I eat as healthily as I can and lose weight if I can. And if I can't, then thats OK too because I'm not perfect. (could someone copy that and repeat it back to me in a bad week pleae).

WWB - am still overcoming the sense of shock taht you don;t like Jane Eyre...

and I'm trying not to be smug because DS is going through such an angelic phase at the moment. He's such a honey, I had such bad luck at the start of my journey to parenthood, I cant beleive I finally drew an ace! Feel being too smug will jinx it!

It was certainly one of the tougher starts to motherhood, Sue. So glad it's all still going well. I think I might be able to have August off again, so maybe I could make it to that MoFos meet-up we'd talked about ealier this year but never finalised. I'd love to meet him in rl.

I have a bit of time off in August before the bank holiday - shall we give up on any earlier and go for August instead?

Thanks people - feel much more positive today. Went to the gym yesterday - didn't do much but every little helps right? - and you're right, I DO feel better having just made a mental start, whether or not it amounts to much in actual weight loss terms. Is nice feeling in control of food rather than it being in control of me.

JackieNo · 24/04/2007 10:19

Well done for getting to the gym, EllieG - that's brilliant.

Sue, August would be fine for me, or a weekend, if not (we did come up with a huge list at one point of who could do when, didn't we).

Ta muchly. Will make a note.
Bad day - lots of chocolate - but it was medicinal cos have just had lunch with PG friend and have not long had MC. Think chocolate doesn't count in there is a valid reason.

Report

Therapeutic chocolate doesn't count.

Well done on the gym visit, EllieG.
