here

It combines a cashback deal with WW online offer, so effectively free. Made the decision about whether or not to join for me.

Thanks for the info. Wish Slimming World did the same offer!

Fork. Are you going to the meetings or doing WW online? I'm doing it online as my DH is often away when the meeting is on and someone would have to watch the DC.

I'm online too. No way I'm taking two DCs to meetings. It's just the programme and online tools I want anyway. I find that going to meetings makes no difference to my motivation if my head's not in the right place. However I did it successfully on my own pre-DCs.

How much are you hoping to lose?

Hoping to lose at least four stone. I lost two stone in 2011, then we went to the US and I never got my head back in the game. So here I am again trying it all over again. I'm doing the Filling and Healthy plan, but I'm concerned about portion sizes. Have you got an iPhone? The WW app is good and then you don't need their calculator.

I joined and have 2 stone to lose. Never tried before, was always 9 stone. Stopped smoking and drinking two years ago and started to eat chocolate instead Sad

Great that's three of us then. Everybody else is doing the couch to 5k, the Shred, 5:2 or Carb Bootcamp. I'm making an effort and that's what counts. I would like to be a size 14 again and then reassess.

I've downloaded the Android app despite dire reviews and it's fine so far.

I want to lose 3.5 - 4 stone (I'm 5'4" and would like to be 9st tops). As I'm BFing I get a lot more points so decided to give it a go.

Can't get on with any other weight loss plan, even Paul McKenna. I like WW because it's easy to count points and you don't have to cut anything out.

I'm just off out and trying to decide on my usual chai tea latte or a black coffee. This is going to be hard Grin

Good luck to us all!

Btw, have you seen the points in a tin of humble baked beans????

Shocking isn't it? Think it's the high carb.

They're "free" on the Filling and Healthy plan.
I emailed WW about portion control as the temptation to pig out is great on stuff you don't have to count.

I want to sign up but can't afford it ATM, I know it's technically free but you have to pay first and then get the cash back, right? Booo. I get paid on the 14th though so I'm joining classes then using their half price monthly membership offer, I can't wait. Doing it properly on my own until then using the information I can scrape together from various forums!

Really need to lose about 40lbs this year, I put it on 3 years ago when I moved in with DP and haven't managed to shift it since Blush

Is there a WW support thread on here? Have looked but can't find one

I've had crumpets for breakfast, not very exciting. Then I trawled round Sainsburys trying to buy enough fruit and veg to give Gillian McKeith an orgasm! Anyway I made soup for lunch - Ham hock with root vegetables and assorted pulses. Really delicious and according to the F&H food list all unpointed! Fantastic. I made quite a lot, so whether I still think its fantastic by Sunday remains to be seen..... Dinner tonight is sirloin steak and salad. I'm only pointing salad dressing, and milk in my tea today.
After all this effort I hope that I get a reasonable loss on Wednesday.
I really miss my nightly glass of wine though.

I've never tried F&H. Do you just get the weekly points? Also, did WW respond to the question about portion control?

OP posts:

SallyBear · 04/01/2013 19:36

Yes just the weekly 49 points. You are allowed 2x5ml of healthy oil (sunflower or olive) a day without pointing. I've lost two pounds in two days, and the sugar/fat craving headaches have gone now. Smile

Sorry no WW haven't replied, so I will have to wait until next week I suspect.

Ineedthat, thank you! I will post here if I come across anything but I think I've pretty much got it from reading the magazine and forums Smile

I worked out my daily allowance from an online calculator, I ended up with 35 points - am 5'7 and 14.7 stone (ugh!), does this sound alright does anyone know? Obviously will get it from the meeting when I join on the 19th.

I did Slimming World for a bit last year, but found it really difficult and so far on WW I'm really enjoying pointing everything, is that sad? Grin

Can I join you? I've been doing WW Propoints for 1 month this time round. Did it in 2011 for 2 months, was my first ever diet/ weight loss attempt.

I lost a stone in 2 months in 2011, paused for pregnancy and new baby in 2012 and started again a month ago.

I don't go to meetings, just use the IPhone app to record my food intake. I generally lose a pound a week and over Xmas put back on 1lb, which I was happy with as I didn't point anything and didn't hold back!!

First goal is to get back to pre pregnancy weight (11st 8lbs).

Am currently 11st 10lbs after Xmas excesses!

Second goal is 11st by March 20th. 11st = wedding weight
March 20th = return to work from mat leave

Long term goal is 9.5st but I've never been that light as an adult so we'll see. I imagine 10st to be more achievable for me TBH.

Oh and I'm 5ft 3.5in.

Yes please join us. We are slowly increasing our numbers!
I have a lot to lose, and I am also doing mine on the iPhone app as I don't have the time to do the meetings. I've set 4 stone off as a target to see how I look, if I can do more I will. I want to lose weight, but at 43 I don't want to look scrawny (fat chance at the moment!!). So I think setting yourself mini goals is definitely the way to go. A stone at a time! Silver Sevens all the way. Smile

I couldn't do it without mini goals. When I first started in 2011 I weighed 12st 8lbs. My 'goal weight' is 9st 3.8lbs and that just freaks me out. It's too much to think about in one go so breaking it down to mini goals helps me.

My main problem is finding dinners that my family will eat that are low enough points or that I can adapt easily. At the moment I'm ending up using my 49 weeklies by going over every day on dinner.
In the long term I'm going to have to address that as I'd rather use them for treats and condiments...

My other big one is (believe it or not) Salad Cream! I love it but it's a killer on points!

EMS I am trying hard and following F&H food list. I had Sirloin Steak, baked potato, mushrooms and salad last night. With pointed anchor light in my potato and salad dressing on my leaves. So it can be done.
I'm learning to love brown rice, but wholemeal pasta may well defeat me! Waitrose do a fresh wholemeal tagliatelle which is ok apparently.

I tend to cook twice. I cook the kids tea for 5pm and then we eat at 8pm. My husband doesn't finish work till late and I don't like him eating on his own. I do stirfries, pasta dishes, meat and two veg, roasts, stews, breadcrumbed fishcakes or schnitzels etc. I have also read up but not used yet, breadcrumbs made from crumpets! here. Anyway it's from a WW recipe blog really interesting take on things.
