I just don't do the whole monarchy thing, y'know.
Anyone else?
My friend has obligingly hired a riad in Marrakech for her birthday celebrations, so I'm off for long girly weekend where we will toast our good fortune at not being anywhere near a television. I am trusting that the wedding tat will not have made it's way to the medina, but you never know and we will of course buy up any call to prayer clocks with 'Will&Kate' engravings that we might find...
We're having a party at a friend's place here in Sydney! We were all going to wear our wedding dresses, but none of us can fit into them so it's veils only.
Any excuse for popping some bubbly (even if I am a republican!)
What time is the wedding on?
we're off the a 'Revolutionaries' kids party for the wedding. Ds will be wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt.
Love it, Forxtrot!
Sorry, Foxtrot!
Me-I´m not celebrating?
Am I the only one who thinks PW should be marrying better?
he wouldn't get better, he's ugly, he should be gratefull he pulled her
Yes, you could be right!
It´s just that you know the engagement interview-it seemed very put on, as if she had been "shaped" into that.
Made me think she´s either good enough or not-but don´t try to make her so if she isn´t considered to be iyswim.
not celebrating! There is a street party in our road, but we are going to the seaside and hopig to miss the whole blardy thing.

"Am I the only one who thinks PW should be marrying better?" - er, what does this even mean? Is she not a lovely woman who loves him to bits? What "better" could he want than that?
A major recession and TWO royal marriages - what a coincidence -am I the only cynic on the planet? Personally I think PW has been told to get on with it just like his father before him and look how that turned out!
I'll be shopping and hoping there are no big screens set up or sales assistants with portable TVs on up at the tills!
DS' primary school has wasted 3 blardy days preparing for a mock wedding tomorrow, party, dressing up etc. I am so hacked off with it. If I had announced I was going to take him on holiday and not be back until next tuesday there would be much tutting and muttering about the packed curriculum and need not to miss a minute but they can spend three days "marrying" off 2 poor year 6s who happen to be called Will and Kate.
First against the wall when the revolution comes.......
Bleurgh at the mock wedding. Cheese fest.
"Personally I think PW has been told to get on with it just like his father before him and look how that turned out! "
I also think that there´s a bit of that to it as well.
I can´t help thinking that since they got back together she has been fashioned into something suitable.
Otherwise, why not marry years ago?
Still, she showed him that she was able to be at his beck & call, so what was the hurry from his pov?
They´ve lived together for years & are now making it official-where´s the romance in that?
Can´t help thinking that she´ll be pregnant before the year is out!
Battery, that's shite! I'm truly
that the school was happy to squander spend so much time on such bollocks. Apologies for the language but this all gets right up my nose. Consenting adults watching/celebrating/talking about/lining the streets for the effing wedding is one thing although I think it's still weird and sad but making kids do it at school ... words fail me.
My ds said yesterday (they weren't in Tuesday) they spent the WHOLE day on the Royal Wedding, and today they are having a party. He said 'it's only a wedding'
He was allowed to wear red, white and blue although I am not sure they were expecting a Sonic the hedgehog t-shirt....
I am going to avoid whole thing at all costs...
Is there anything wrong with me and my mates plans. we are going to have a barbeque in the garden 2moro and probably most off the weekend. no decor just alcohol and a barbie. we start the party tonite and plan on getting utterly smashed till monday evening and hope to miss everything.
We took advantage of a free day off (obv not for us sath whose day is pretty much the samebank holiday or not) and went to Australia and got caught up in the hype over there.
Good luck to them. But am I the only one wondering what my reaction would have been if I were Mrs Middleton when Kate first got caught up with Wills????
Oh and would def NOT have accepoted the engagement ring from such a famously farcical marriage that ended so badly!
