The Devil Dog -atm where ever he pleases, usually the bed in Dh and mines room(I sleep downstairs on an air bed during the week owing to DH's snoring) as he has eaten his crate and learnt to open doors Angry

Cat-dog - in her crate. Whether she is lockind in or not. She likes her crate.

My dog has probably never even seen inside my bedroom....only allowed on bottom floor of house (we're over 3) and sleeps in a nice cosy basket in the hall near the radiator.
I really don't like animals in bedrooms and my dog is especially smelly and hairy.
I stayed at a friends house once and had the shock of my life when I woke up to find their greyhouse/deerhound cross snuggled up with me - even had its head on the pillow and had crawled under the duvet while I was asleep!

Black Lab - on my bed. Black and tan German Shepherd - commutes between my bed and a huge-even-when-folded 15 tog kingsized duvet beside it. All night.

Up.

Down.

Up.

Down...

Long haired white German Shepherd - starts off on my bed then moves to the floor by the closed bedroom door where he will kick the equally large, snuggly duvet aside several times until it is under my bed and lay contentedly on the bare laminate flooring.

Even in winter.

There is nothing about either of my Shepherds that is remotely normal. :o

In an indoor kennel in the kitchen, always has and always will because it's "her space" and she knows that's where she goes at night ... plus she knows it's time for biscuits Grin

In a crate (5 months old).
However, DH has started allowing pup on the sofa for cuddles while watching TV and the past couple of nights after we've let him out for his last evening wee (the pup, not DH!) he strolls back into the house and very determindly goes back into the sitting room to jump back onto the sofa - even after we've put all the lights out and are stood next his crate in the kitchen waiting for him. I think he's staking his claim, but it'll take a while until we grant that privilege!

In the kitchen next to the radiator.
Have the past couple of days trusted her to have the run of the lounge and kitchen if I pop out in the day, nothing has been chewed yet (touch wood!)
If she keeps this up I might let her sleep in the lounge soon. (Shes only a year old!)

Either on his big snuggly duvet filled bed at the end of our bed, or curled up tightly between us.

More with us the last few nights as it has been so cold.

In our bedroom. Has amazing dreams with running and groaning/whimpering excitement noises so gets cushions thrown at her all night.

In his (open) crate in the kitchen. Instead of a duvet he has a thin pillow in a large quilted pillow sham which is easier for him to get underneath and is just the right size.

As soon as he's let out in the morning he comes up and burrows into bed with someone - I wouldn't mind him sleeping with me but he always gets off the bed to shake his ears at some point(s) in the night when I tried it, and then pretends not to be able to get back in and stands with his front paws up gently whining. Needless to say if there's no-one around he's perfectly capable of getting on the bed Hmm daft dog.

DH is not very happy about The Devil Dog sleeping with him. He is not as patient as you lot, but as he can escape his half eaten crate, DH is too lazy/greedy to order a new one and cannot remember where his credit card is anyway, The Devil Dog can now open doors, he has little choice but to sleep with him.

I tried for an hour last night to get TDD to go in his own bed and stay there or to stay in the dining room on his blanket, but he was having none of it Grin

Big dog, in his bed in the kitchen, small dog in his crate als in the kitchen. Neither are allowed upstairs as I like to have one place that is free of dog hair and mud.

In the kitchen on his bed. Not allowed up stairs as I can't bear the dog hair everywhere.

Our lab sleeps downstairs where he pleases. He has a bed and blankets where he is usually in the morning but he will sprawl out where he wants in the evening. He is not allowed upstairs and doesn't try often now (he's 15 months)

Great Dane sleeps under ds1 (8) bed, jack Russell sleeps in the bath (his choice)

On his bed in the corner of the living room. I wouldn't mind having him in the bedroom with us, but he seems happy where he is, and he's a bit of a noisy sleeper (snoring, 'running', snuffling and barking in his sleep, which is kind of adorable but would keep me awake...)

Despite initial resistance, in her basket in the kitchen (with my slippers).

Oh yes, I have cunningly trained my dog to pre-warm my slippers for me.

In the middle of the kitchen floor on the lino, completely ignoring the huge soft dog bed anf the sofa - weird or what.

Report
Slubberdegullion · 01/12/2010 18:28

Lizcat, that's just what my dog used to do. She would lie next to the basket, all lined with vet bed and blankets and a casually placed soft dog toy in the corner, but no the floor was much comfier Hmm.

It (the basket) went on a holiday to my mother's garage for a few months and on its return I can't get her out of it.

One sleeps on her bed outside on the patio (her choice).

The other two usually sleep on beds in the living room but occasionaly on the floor in our bedroom when DP goes to bed first and I sneak them in.

Should add that we live in a hot place, before you start thinking that outside dog is freezing in the snow...Grin

wherever he likes. which includes the sofas and any of the beds.

but wherever he sleeps he has to be tucked up! if he is in a bed he worms his way under the duvet, if on the sofa then he has a blanket over him.

he might be a leeeeeetle bit spoilt.

If we are out in her crate as she suffers separation anxiety and this is her safe place
If we are in during day - on her sofa in the lounge
In the evening if I am being a soft touch on my sofa with me
At night on floor in our bedroom on whatever she has deemed her bed for the night - ignores her own bed
If DH or I on our own in bed she will come up on bed but not if we are both there.
Yes she is spoilt rotten but she was my baby pre children and always will be Grin
