So what do we all make of Marcus and Maria now? Think people are being a tad unfair on them. Even Kirk!!!

Loved Steve locking rob in the van.

Looking forward to seeing where the Tina pregnancy thread will go - hope Tommy comes to terms with it all. Loved the happy faces of Izzy and Gary.

Has anyone mentioned the utter unreality of Kirsty being 'promoted' from packing to stand-in boss? I nearly laughed out loud. But why shoud be surprised, afterall we've got Rob -straight out of t'nick (prison that is not Nick Tilsley) thinking he's Alan Sugar and Michelle, six months ago a singer/barmaid now boss of t'factory. Kirsty needs to get her come-uppance big time. She's lower that a snake's belly.

The trouble with Corrie frequently is that the characters change so much you never get the chance to sympathise with any of them e.g Leanne was utterly nasty to Eva but you end up not rooting for either of them because they both do the dirty

PoppyAmex Tue 20-Nov-12 17:22:58

ken yes it was! DD is ignoring me, obsessed with trying to crawl and I had mountains of ironing (depressing), so the gigantic "omnibus" made it easier. grin

senses you are so right, I think in an effort to make the characters less one-dimensional (snort) they're all unrecognisable.

Some really bad acting too - that Aidan guy being a major culprit!

ken finally noticed the way Eva holds her handbag, must say it didn't annoy me as much as her various head adornments do! grin

MrsSalvoMontalbano Tue 20-Nov-12 17:31:09

Totally unrealistic
- Eva's immaculate eye makeup, after the trauma of seeing her fella with another girl follwoed by a lonely train-ride back from Sheffield
- Michelle's immaculate eyemakeup after - presumably- a passionate session in bed with Steve
- Robs appearance back at the rovers - wasn't he earlier supposd to be too drunk to drive

Does Hayley not work in the factory any more? She used to be the supervisor.

Sleepyfergus Tue 20-Nov-12 18:57:45

Hayley's in the states looking after her MIL or her MILs partner, I forget which one exactly! Roy came back on his tod a couple if weeks back.

kenanddreary Tue 20-Nov-12 19:11:55

Poppy - hope you had some biscuits to go with that marathon session!

Yes - some parts are unrealistic but I suppose that's the land of soaps - needs to be some poetic license for it to work - certainly not that much going on in my street grin. Still my favourite soap though - and far funnier than EE.

MrsSalvoMontalbano Tue 20-Nov-12 20:04:04

yes agree, it knocks the socks off other soaps - I am being picky grin definitley prefer the odd bit of non-continuity to the humourlessness of other soaps - and I should be grateful for itvplayer, because the tv in our house is always monoplised by various of my DC, whilst my (work hmm) laptop is mine, all mine grin

I agree, despite a lot of shortcomings it is by far the best British soap, the good bits more than outweigh the bad. It has been a lot better recently due to the absence of Carla, Peter, Dev, Sunita and Carl.

theliverpoolone Tue 20-Nov-12 20:54:49

Oh yes, I forgot Hayley had stayed in America. Great that these jobs can give such long leave so easily at short notice.... hmm

sensesworkingovertime Tue 20-Nov-12 22:02:41

Mrs Salvo, well spotted girlfriend (if I may be so familiar). Yes the eye make-up and not a hair out of place, she must keep a brush handy after doing her jiggy jiggys with Steve. Not to mention Eva, I've only got to cry for a couple of minutes to look like a wreck for the next 12 hours with Dracula eyes and a pasty face.

Glad somebody reminded me of Aiden (well, not glad cos he was so awful) but glad in the context of Corrie-talk. He was repulsive and wooden to put it mildly, no wonder Marcus started batting for the other team, so to speak. Aiden can go and bore the pants of London now.

Lozario Tue 20-Nov-12 22:42:22

Oh here you all are! The last thread filled up and I felt I was standing in a desert of tumbleweed all of a sudden. Now I'm back in your collective Corrie-loving bosom grin

I have known a few Kirsty-types in my lifetime, she's eerily familiar! Think she does it well because I'm always on edge that Tyrone is gonna get a thump. Think she will deck Fizz or something in public then that will be it and also Tyrone will then realise his feelings for Fizz.

All I can think when watching the surrogate storyline is TINA WILL YOU TAKE IT EASY WITH THE FECKING FAKE TAN and Tommy is as cute as a puppy dog

What the hell is Nigel Havers going to do to Gail??!!

Poor Nick sad

still fancy Rob a bit despite his behaviour

LightHousekeeping Tue 20-Nov-12 23:28:14

I think he will seduce gayle

Gail is so stupid, insensitive and self absorbed she deserves everything she gets. I do feel sorry for Audrey though.

kenanddreary Wed 21-Nov-12 11:38:40

As much as I would love to see Fizz and Tyrone get together with the babies, there is one major problem. Kirsty has refused to put Tyrone on the birth certificate so officially he is not the father. She used this as a threat against him. I had completely forgotten!

So we need to find a way around this. Perhaps Kirsty could do something for which she gets arrested and put into prison so that she is out of the way. But would Tyrone get custody of Ruby?! I am worrying about this far too much grin.

carabos Wed 21-Nov-12 12:23:54

Hope for Lewis's sake that he doesn't get too tangled up with the multi-widowed Gail - he'll end up dead if he does grin.

Sleepyfergus Wed 21-Nov-12 12:45:49

If it did come to a custody battle for Ruby, can Tyrone insist on a DNA test to prove paternity? I dunno about stuff like that! But yes, like the idea of Tyrone and Fizz getting together. Think Kirsty needs to take a wall alongside the canal or near a team track and meet with an accident.....

kenanddreary Wed 21-Nov-12 13:27:15

I don't know Sleepy and it's really worrying me! grin

Kirsty is so completely vile - I really want everyone on the street to find out about her and know what she's really like. And then to apologise to Tina and Tommy for not believing them when they first told everyone.

Sleepyfergus Wed 21-Nov-12 18:12:21

Wall = walk
Team = Tram

Bloomin' autocorrect angry

kenanddreary Wed 21-Nov-12 19:52:07

Hour long episode! Hurrah!

sensesworkingovertime Wed 21-Nov-12 19:56:29

The Lewis/Gail thing - going off past form of Gails fellas, if he becomes entangled with Gail it's sure fire way of ending up dead meat or a raving pyshco, or both. Why is Gail not a tad suss of someone who hated her last week now buttering up to her like a tub of Lurpak?

What the heck has Eva The Cleavage got up her sleeve for loving half -sister Leanne?? I'm rubbish at guessing so all ideas gratefully received.

Kirsty - not exactly Columbo is she? Durr-brain, did she not realise that a MOTHER and baby group would be full of mothers i.e. women. She looked genuinely surprised when she discovered that Tyrone was surrounded by the opposite sex at Tiny Tikes or whatever it's called.

kenanddreary Wed 21-Nov-12 20:04:08

I know senses - it's Super Tikes - hardly a den of iniquity!

But she is pure eeeeeeevil - that incident with the sewing machine - horrible!

kenanddreary Wed 21-Nov-12 20:07:22

Did you see Sean's reaction? What a wuss!

Think Eva is trying to get Nick back senses.

sensesworkingovertime Wed 21-Nov-12 20:16:18

Yes Ken, I just wonder how she is going to do it, so far she is a one trick pony, the trick being the double D's and the see-through dress.

squoosh Wed 21-Nov-12 20:24:02

Can I just say, the guy who plays Nick is the worst actor ever. Bloody awful.

sailorsgal Wed 21-Nov-12 20:25:17

How old is little Max?? 6?? He gets 30 spellings. Ds is about the same age and gets 10. hmm
