cos as their middle expands the jeans get tighter and somehow rise up

But if they are a smidge too long you get soggy ankle flap on days lke today

At 5"1 I can honestly say that I have never worn jeans that are too short...

Yep, ankle-bashers are indeed a crime. But in this wet weather something of a blessing, no? I HATE going around in sopping wet jeans

I totally agree.

And am guilty sometimes!

I find it so frustrating because my jeans always land up being perfect for wearing with flats, but not with heels. I have now bought a pair of jeans that are longer for wearing with heels and am planning to splash out on a further pair. The flat ones will have to hold off - it's winter, I wear heels a lot!

Totally agree! And I speak as someone who needs 36" leg jeans. So if I can manage it so can everyone else

ewww I tends to buy mine too long skinny then roll them up in the summer but ewwwwwwwwww at soggy ones I hate it when they get all drippy.

jeans for flats..........were do I buy those - at 5ft I struggle to find jeans that are ok for heels let alone flats (my jeans are all frayed and horrible at the bottom now even though I have to fold them up slightly to stop myself falling over them/

Because some of us aren't made of time and money, okay?

Jesus, as if shopping for jeans wasn't enough of a MASSIVE PAIN IN THE ARSE already, now I have to get the bloody tape measure out and check myself against the somewhat fishy standards of MN Style & Beauty.

You buy your jeans from the chippy?

Anyway, I'm far too busy baking healthful treats and playing games with my child to spend time on myself

I can't cut the frayed bits off - the frayed bits are on the folded bit - the hems are ok.......

I spent an entire day trawling every bloody shop in MK last year and at the end of the day had just 2 pairs of jeans - and even they weren't really right - but I needed knew ones so had no choice.

Buy long jeans the right length for your heels and buy velcro. fold the jeans up to where you want them with your flats, and attach the scratchy bit of the velcro around the bottom and the soft bit higher up where you want the join. Voila! Multi-heel length jeans. Also handy for "day-to-evening" black trousers.

my jeans are supposed to be short - jbrand ones that fall at the ankle - I actually think they look o.k? But suspect everyone else is thinking I am just walking about in 'too short' jeans

I always wear jeans that are too short.
I hate jeans that drag on the ground or very nearly enough -- don't they get filthy on the hem? I can't see the point. I'd have to get each and every pair tailored to be exactly the right length, if I followed the current fashion trends.

Which would be very funny, given all my clothes come from charity shops; I'd end up having to pay 2-3x more for getting them shortened than I did to buy them!

Actually, come to think of it, since they are always too short, I assume they are the standard length for someone usually with my waist size? In which case, the problem is that I'm too skinny (darnit). If I was fatter, I expect the jeans would come up much longer? I have short legs for my height, too.

Well, I guess it's my fault for being trim in a world full of fatties, then.

Agree Next skinny jeans are the best.

Actually, I am starting to like some Next clothes. What's wrong with me?

The best are people who wear too-short boot cuts, so the flare are flapping around their ankles and they look like a sea cadet.

However as someone who is tall I have had my own personal jeans horrors with ankle swingers when I was younger and there wasn't a Top Shop in town and tallest inside leg i could find was 34" (Tall jeans range the best).

no i dont like many and their heans are often over done
but the plain coloured skinny ones they bring out sometimes are not only cheap but a good fit
