tights and knee length boots in the cold weather

flp-flops or birkenstocks when it is warmer

good was thinking flip flops or ballet pumps for summer. Now I need knee high boots, would it look weird to have flat ones rather than heels?

You can wear heels depending on the cut. Opaques/knintted tights with tram lines.swing cardigan. long t shirt top layering effort.

For that retro 70s primary teacher look

Definitely agree re knee-high boots for this weather. Personally I think the heel/flat dilemma is more to do with your height/shape than the skirt. I like a bit of a chunky heel in a boot as I am on the short side and curvy and think a bit of heel is never a bad thing for one of my stature. But willowy tall types look fab in flat boots, I think.

lol, tell me will my cowboy boots look weird with it then? Glad flat boots better than heels as can't be doing with heels while chasing my small boy. Ds will stick his head up skirt, have only worn one once in his whole nearly 3 years of life and he was very confused last time!

I wear my denim skirt with flat, slightly ruched leather black boots and opaques

My boots

I love it, it has transformed my wardrobe! Was always in jeans before and this feels a bit "smarter"

thanks lizzylou so my boots don't need to be too close to the knee to look ok, that's good. gosh is hard to create a new look

I was very pleased because the first day I wore mine, my young and trendy friend (I have a decade on her) said "you look fab!".

I was v impressed and not ashamed to say walked with a bit of a swagger after that!

I have long legs (am 5ft 9")and the boots don't look short on me at all.

It is a school run fave here (not least because I then come home and work and it's more comfy than jeans).
