and am very impressed! I hate foundation but my 42 year old dry skin needed something more than the concealer I have been using for the last 20 odd years. This is just a cheapy one from a local dept store but makes my skin look healthier, and, dare I say it, a bit younger

What make is it? And why are you putting your slap on so early?

Aveda do a lovely one. I'm a big fan of tinted moisturiser.

I am thinking about getting some so would be interested in recommendations too.

Apparently Laura Mercier is great, I was thinking of getting some today

Any ideas of the best, er, budget version?

I have decided in the last few days that I have to Start Bothering Again.

I use Laura Mercier tinted foundation. For my skin it seems to work well, it's creamy and light but if you want a heavier look you can just add more. The downside is the cost : £32 which is expensive in my book, but have tried the chanel hydramax and didn't like that.

I have the Almay one which blends in with your natural skin tone. Its great. Cost me a fiver!

This was from a dept store in Holland and cost about Eu 4! I am putting on 'slap early' as am going out for the day

Ooh and got lots of positive comments re appearance so I reckon other people could see a difference - maybe I just looked a bit healthier!! Even my kids said I looked nice

I cheat and mix my normal foundation with moisturiser in the palm of my hand

recommendations eagerly sought for good cheapy ones though - is the Almay one really good?

I've never really got the point of tinted moisturiser. Why not bung some moisturiser on and then a little bit of foundation?

M&S do a perfectly nice 'firming' one but don't think it works if your skin is dry

Report
oxocube · 15/04/2008 20:54

Yabbadabbadoo, for me, the whole point was/is that I don't own foundation and haven't worn it since I was about 18. But tinted moisturisor seemed a much 'lighter' deal - I think I was aiming for that sun-kissed model look . Its probably just luck that I hit on one that suited my colouring although I would say that my as my skin is so dry, I put on my normal moisturisor (which is actually a night cream!) first, then once it had sunk in,I used the tinted one on top!!
