Every time I link to shoes on here, it seems that my opinions suck and I have terrible taste.

And I have bought two pairs of boots today. Are they awful? I have no idea Blush

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If you like them then wear them. There is no pleasure in wearing something you don't like but others do.

Sorry op the first pair are truly hideous, the second pair slightly less so but if you like them then go for it!

Thanks fuzzy I think that's what I needed to hear!

Also, what should I wear with the back ones? Can I wear them with socks and trousers or would that look silly?

Both hideous!

First are granny looking.
Second are a hybrid mum boot.

The brown pair are ok but the black ones not to my taste. But if you like them and will feel good in them then that's all that matters!

Urgh.

First ones aren't really boots they are heeled brogues. They are okay. I would wear them with a dress and thick tights. Not keen on the second pair but they look comfy.

Yes I think you could. There is a thread on here at the mo talking about 7/8 length trousers with shoes and options for keeping ankles warm. If you wear dresses then they would work with opaques too

Honestly though don't worry whether people here like them or not. People answering could have a style or way of dressing which you don't like so in real life you wouldn't care what they think. Not that's it's not valuable to ask for opinions sometimes if you're not sure but if you love them than that's all that matters, truly. Dress for yourself not others.

The problem is that I just don't have the money to spend on nice shoes. These cost £55 for both pairs. I just can't afford any more than that. And I need shoes for work and casual boots for school runs etc. What to do?

And I don't have time to shop around trying shoes on every day of the week. How do other people find the time and money for this palarver?!

Any shoes I've bought on a whim, I rarely wear. Now I always have an outfit and maybe an occasion in mind when I buy shoes. So that would be my advice. I have about 60 pairs, some of which I've never worn!

I'll gladly take some of the never-worn ones off your hands Mrsraymond Grin

Well I clearly also have terrible taste because I like the black pair :) This is why I avoid the Style and Beauty threads

I like the black pair but not the other. But you probably wouldn't like my choice of clothing I love my velvet floral docs and wear my converse with skirts/dresses and tights.

I like the black ones.

I totally agree with fuzzy though. I wear some stuff others loathe but it doesn't matter because I love it, I look good in it, it goes with my clothes/style and it reflects who I am.

If they do the above for you then keep them. Wht value our opinions above your own. We might have awful taste and you'd hate what I'd choose.

One of my friends always looks amazing. I actually don't like the individual items, would never choose them. But they're her style and she looks great.

I really like both pairs but I have quite a quirky style (in fact I own two pairs very similar to the black ones) so those who are quite fashionable would probably hate 90% of my wardrobe, but it suits me and I wear all of it, even all my 40+ pairs of shoes.

If you like them then you wear them. You have to be comfortable and confident in what you wear and trying to force yourself into someone else's style is never the way to do that!

Enjoy you're funky shoes op :)

The black ones are quite nice.preppy-ish which is quite now, and would look good with opaque and a dress or skirt.
The other ones not so much but if you like them then who cares?

Doobigetta · 29/09/2016 16:18

The black ones would be fine for work. The boots aren't really my sort of thing, but if I saw someone wearing them I wouldn't think OMG they're hideous.

bilboteabaggin · 29/09/2016 16:28

Haha I wouldn't worry about anyone's opinion on this website, they all seem to love boden Confused I wouldn't say your shoes are currently fashionable but they're not ugly.

They are both fine! I like the black ones, wearing similar right now in fact. How are you going to wear the boots - with jeans?

Report
nothingwittyhere · 29/09/2016 17:49

I love both although I don't wear high heels. Where are they from?
Yah boo sucks to everyone who hates them, although I agree everyone has the right to their own opinion. Grin

I quite like them, think they're both cute little boots.

Don't wear heels though so not for me.

I love getting new shoes/boots :)
