Ok all. Shiny new thread! Are our lists ready, do we have supplies??

Here we go!

For those looking confused read the first post here

Helgathehairy · 15/09/2016 08:19

It's not a great start for me. DD has infected me with a cold. She had the sniffles for one day and was fine, I've got glass in my throat and just general crap feeling.

Saw a load of Korean type face masks in TK Maxx yesterday but I already had a bit of a blowout earlier in the week and couldn't buy them.

OP posts:
RattieOfCatan · 15/09/2016 09:11

No, it can't be only 100 days?! Shock

Today is not going wonderfully for me so far, I have a nice bright red (and very noticeable) rash on my upper lip, last week I had it and thought it was my face wash or scrub, however it's come back :( I think it's either my new water bottles or the local swimming pool. I'm hoping that it is the former as there are literally no other pools around here and swimming is the only exercise I can do reliably due to joint problems and other health issues!

However I have got all of my stash for preening myself and am building good habits with my list, so I'm totally in still Grin

Onehellofaride · 15/09/2016 09:48

Yeyyy! I'm in. I have written my list but it's at work so I will have to post it when I go into the office later.

I'm starting with a hangover however today will be a dry day so a good place to start!

Onehellofaride · 15/09/2016 17:28

Have I killed this thread on its first day?! Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/09/2016 18:21

Xmas Grin no you haven't killed it One .

OK, my list (and yes, some are carry-ons from last year but I will need to keep on doing them)

1: no wheaty things. So no crackers, wraps, croissants (I have weaned myself off bread for the last 15 months, tough but do-able) My innards complained about my refried bean wraps last night and I had to have one of my tablets (I've only had about 3-4 in the past 18 months so not something I reach for)

2: weekly weigh/measure starting tomorrow. Write it all down in a Secret Notebook , not on this thread Blush.

3: keep my haircuts up to date (going tomorrow, its been 5-6 weeks and it looks lively now)

4: henna after haircutting , I have a block, no excuse

5: I dyed my eyebrows last week, I impressed myself Grin I have proper brows ! Need to keep that going

6: Ditto eyelashes because I rarely wear make-up, which brings me to

7: wear make up

8: clothes cull and wear those things that are lounging in the wardrobe. Try and work out WHY I haven't worn XYZ. Does it need something to go with it? Make a list. I took photos of all my clothes on the iPhone to stop impulse buys

9: get a proper Pedometer and wear it every day , try to get 10,000 steps in

10: fake tan, I'm going away end Oct so I should get a base tan to work with

11: always have my legs and armpits smooth (I think thats a reason some clothes don't get worn, pits aren't for public viewing )

12: water - I drink buckets especially at night (flushes, hormones)

13: sort through make-up. I'm still doing "Ashamed of my beauty hoard"

14: Don't impulse buy, walk away for 24 hours. I need to have a clear vision

15: accept I'm 50, I'm middle aged but not One Foot In The Grave just yet Grin. I cannot do some things, I need my sleep. I don't need pies.

In the words of Shrek "That'll Do, Donkey" Smile

Onehellofaride · 15/09/2016 21:34

Ended up very hectic in the office today so didn't get chance to post my list however tonight I have run just over 5k and put a hair mask on. Drunk more water, eaten well and not snacked! Need to get on top of the ironing now though!

ConstantlyCooking · 15/09/2016 23:05

I managed moisturiser and serum this morning, hot cloth cleanse this evening, drank water and took iron and health supplements.
On the minus side I ate chocolate, drank Cointreau and nibbled a nail.

lisam78 · 16/09/2016 17:02

I bought done of those Korean face mask and from tkmaxx yesterday Helga, one of the collagen ones. I used it last night and my skin felt and looked really nice today. Not bad for a fiver!
Have gone to gym twice this week, but had lots of chocolate cake this week as it was my birthday.
Got hair trimmed, roots coloured and some lowlights put in. Took the plunge and got a fringe too (to hide wrinkly forehead!)
Tonight, I will fake tan/do mani/pedi as I am going out for dinner and drinks with the girls tomorrow night.

Greenfingeredfun · 16/09/2016 17:46

I've been lurking on the old thread.. I'm now ready to join!

Drink more water on a daily basis
Brisk walk in my lunch hour
But some decent multi vitamins
Book a hair cut and keep rebooking in for 6 - 8 weeks
Weekly diy mani/pedi
Weekly full body exfoliation
Weekly hair mask
De fuzz - much more regularly
Update work wardrobe. Everything seems to look overworn all of a sudden so I'm looking forward to shopping for a few bits once I've been paid

8FencingWire · 16/09/2016 18:26

Ah, I had a nice list all typed up and then forgot to press send.
So, my list is:

  1. Have hot water with lemon every morning. Take the vitamins while I'm at it.
  2. Run 3 times a week and shred 3 days a week.
  3. Don't eat any sweets unless they are homemade.
  4. Proper evening routine, as in remove make up, use toner and moisturiser.
  5. Write in my gratitude journal every night.
  6. Meditate every day.
  7. Wear jewellery at the weekend/days off.
  8. Facial every week.
  9. do my facial exercises every day.
Doilooklikeatourist · 16/09/2016 20:30

Here's my list
70000 steps a day ( I'm on my feet all day , but don't walk far )
Long walk (15000 steps at least once a week )
Count calories
Less sugar and alcohol
Drink more water
Hand cream more often
File and shape nails every Tuesday

Can anyone suggest a decent multivitamin ( I'm 56 )

Mouthfulofquiz · 16/09/2016 20:40

Great thread!
I'm going to try and do the following:
1: get on the treadmill and run 1.5k each time before I have a shower.
2: walk the school run each day (8k in total)
3: no snacking
4: I've got some beautiful clothes that I never wear - so I'm going to shift another half a stone so they don't look tight and start wearing them.
5: get a haircut from a decent salon that suits me (I've got weird hair at the mo because I have a 4 month old and my hair has started to fall out - lush.)
6: value myself a bit more in terms of eating well and exercising. I've really not looked after myself for about 6 months now and was 11st 9. Now I'm 11st 2, so moving in the right direction.

Phew - long list.
Now I'm going to paint my nails!

Buttwing · 16/09/2016 20:44

Ooh I forgot about this I did post on the other thread an then buggered off, sorry!

So far I've-

Rejoined slimming world-lost 4lb 1st week and I'm sticking at it
Decided to cut off my long balayaged hair
Bought some footner

I'm now going to

Make hair appointment
Buy some new skincare bits and look after skin
Do footner (just waiting to make sure no more hot days!)
Brows are due a wax and tint

  8. have nails on hands and feet painted - even if just nice clear nails on hands

Hopefully this is all within reach :-) X
Helgathehairy · 16/09/2016 21:03

I'm still feeling crappy but I'm drinking more water & taking my vitamins. It's something anyway.

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/09/2016 21:30

OK

Today I have:
bought some good, opaque leggings (Maidenform) to wear under jumpers etc.
some long boots (non leather) for general poncing about in
haircut
wore mascara
wore some jewllery (not too much, enough to make like I'd made An Effort)
weighed and measured myself eek Work In Progress there

being ver' ver' good , had Rice Crispies for breakfast (while the rest of them had lovely fresh bread toasted, I'm not in the least bit bitter , but even after all this time not eating bread, the smell of toast is irresistable)
Wheat Free sarnie for lunch (Oh joy , WF bread is not the same)
stir fry for dinner with rice

First few days are the toughest to make adjustments though.
Going to do a proper double cleanse and maybe a mask.

8FencingWire · 18/09/2016 08:22

I meant to start yesterday, but overtime happened, and quite a well paid one at that, so I worked.

I will go for a run today, I'll fit it on somehow!!!
Will write in my gratitude journal in a minute.
I'll check in again in the evening with an update :)

Pisssssedofff · 18/09/2016 08:56

Porridge for breakfast today which I know isn't saintly but it's better than Cheerios I'm sure.
Out for brunch today, place looks lovely so nice coffees and yummy healthy food I'm sure. It does me good to have nice treats I'm afraid, I've stopped smoking, drink three/four times a year max, I need cake or what else do I have to make me happy ☺️

DilapidatedGlamourpuss · 18/09/2016 18:09

Count me in, I lost 13lbs before my holiday in August and have looked like a pile of shit since I got back. I'm going home to the UK for Christmas/the first wedding I've been to since my own in March so want to look half decent

  1. Drink 8 glasses of water a day, vitamins in the morning
  2. Eyebrow appointment every 3 weeks
  3. Hair appointment every 6 weeks
  4. 8k steps a day
  5. Keep up doing yoga 5-6 days a week (I use the Yoga with Adriene YouTube channel, find it really relaxing and she's not patronising)
  6. Cut out snacks other than fruit and veg
  7. Stick with minimal alcohol consumption
  8. Join the gym and actually go 3 times a week
  9. Stick with Weightwatchers and learn some more new recipes

10. Look after my body and skin better- pore strips, do a weekly pedicure, face mask, body brushing, actually take makeup off properly instead of using a wipe Blush
11. Get over my fear of the dentist and go and get my teeth cleaned and whitened

Sounds like a lot but I'm not working at the moment as I'm waiting for a work permit so need to buckle down and get on with it!
ginghamstarfish · 18/09/2016 18:43

Ooh can I join in? Not bothered about Christmas but it's good to have a deadline. I'm always making lists like this but rarely stick to them ...
Will drink more water
Will cut out (most) sweet stuff
Dye eyebrows more regularly
Face scrub and mask once a week
Take codliver oil
Keep nails painted - makes me more careful of them as they're so weak and brittle
