Beauty Boxes

These are new on my radar and a bit of a mystery but it looks like I can sign up for a monthly fee to get a box full of beauty items delivered every month. This is a revelation!

Does anyone do this? Who should I sign up with?

I've had a few from look fantastic. Been mostly great. You can buy them as one offs as well so you don't need to commit to a year (though of you do it's cheaper).

Sounds interesting, any links?

Did lookfantastic box a couple of times last year (about 4 times I thinK).
Its pretty good, although I find now I have a pile of things which were not suitable. #i.e. they would send products for curly hair or dry skin, of which I have neither!
may be worth seeing if there is one which is targeted so you get a more useful selection of products..
I think birchbox looks like a good one.

really loved the having a little surprise box to open every month.

I was looking at the lookfantastic and birch boxes as well as glossy box and the glamour one (saw this one on fb this month and it looked amazing).

Decisions...

I got a 6 month subscription to Birchbox for Christmas and have been pretty impressed so far. They've sent quite a few full size make up products which have been really great. They're a bit addictive though, and I keep looking at others. You're encouraged to review products which gives you points to spend in their shop on full size things, and they mount up quite nicely. I reckon I'll carry on once my 6 months is up. I have a link that gets you some points to spend when you sign up, PM me if you'd like it.

I've been a birchbox subscriber for ages and I do enjoy their boxes. They do try to match the box contents to your profile on the website and after initial teething troubles when they first launched the customer service is pretty good.

I also like the mix your own boxes from Latest In Beauty and their 'collections', as there is no commitment/subscription.

I went a bit mad with them a couple of years back and used to get Glossybox, Birchbox and Lookfantastic. I did really enjoy them and you sometimes get great full size products. However as a pp said, I did eventually end up with lots of samples that were not right for me or I didn't like.

I have now cancelled them all as I am trying to declutter (I had terrible customer service from Glossybox once as well and from what I read online a lot of other people had issues with them). I agree with the pp, Birchbox still looks like its really good, every now and then I am tempted to sign up again!

Glossybox: crap. Filled with stuff that only kids would want (temporary tattoos, nail wraps, tiny hairbrushes). Had a distinct Superdrug/Pound shop vibe.

Birchbox: good. Some real gems especially if you're into skincare. Also lots of duds though. Never had a single nail polish, lip colour or eyeliner pencil that was in a colour I'd use (why do they bother with getting you to fill in a profile?).

Latest in Beauty: Really good. Only bought a few of these but they were fab and incredible value.

LookFantastic: Also really good. Really high end contents. Skincare heavy. Just be careful to read all of their T's+C's. I thought I was buying a one off and ended up with a 3 month subscription which proved quite difficult to cancel.

I get the Love Lula one, it's really good. I got some nice Balm Balm bits last month- coconut cleanser and a tea tree lip balm.

Birchbox and Glossybox are a bit hit and miss. I've been getting the You Beauty box for about the last 6 months, and have found it really good value. There are about 8 products that you get to choose 2 from and they send you a couple of small extras as well. It's only £6.95 a month

Latest in Beauty do good ones, and you can also 'build you own box' from a selection of stuff.
I have a month subscription to 'You Beauty' via the Daily Fail You mag. £6.95 a month, you get to choose two products from a different list each month & get a couple of other things as well.
